Chapter 27 Signing a Contract with Chabashira Sensei
___
"One hundred thousand personal points... OK, even if the Council asks about this amount, I have an explanation. I agree," Chabashira Sae finally said.
"Hey, why would the school board question a teacher about this? Aren't the personal points on your phone your own?" Rin Matsuoka asked slyly.
Chabashira Sae looked at him and explained, "They are mine, but the school also has rules. Without a legitimate reason, personal point transactions between teachers and students are not allowed."
"If this school rule is violated, the points involved will be deducted, and both parties will be punished by the school."
"And if the reason why a teacher gives a student personal points is too suspicious or unreasonable, the school will forcibly deduct those personal points."
"Wow, that's strict," Rin smacked his lips in surprise.
"Of course it's strict. After all, personal points are equivalent to money in this school," Chabashira replied, taking out her phone and tapping away at the screen.
"Matsuoka, please wait a moment. I'll draft the relevant contract. After both parties confirm and sign it, I'll give you the 100,000 personal points."
"Do we really have to sign a contract? That's such a hassle," Rin showed a helpless expression.
"Did you think teachers could just casually give their personal points to students?" Chabashira asked, raising an eyebrow.
"That's true," Rin conceded.
Suddenly, Rin had an idea. He decided to use his "Language Guidance" ability and then asked, "Chabashira-sensei, is there anything else I should be aware of when it comes to personal point transactions?"
Whether it was due to Rin's intermediate "Language Guidance" or because the school had no rules against sharing this kind of information, Chabashira responded without hesitation.
"Although personal points can be traded, and you can buy anything you want, if it involves a large amount of points being exchanged, it's best to sign a relevant contract as proof."
"That way, if the school investigates, there won't be any issues."
Rin nodded thoughtfully, "I understand."
After a minute or two, Chabashira Sae had already finished drafting the contract. She scanned Rin's phone and sent the document over.
"Matsuoka, please read it carefully. If there are no issues, sign your name and provide your fingerprint," Chabashira said, slightly raising her pointed chin.
"Uh-huh," Rin replied, looking at the contract on his phone.
The contract read:
---
Party A: Chabashira Sae
Party B: Rin Matsuoka
Due to Party B's academic record showing zero marks in all subjects, Party A plans to use junior high school graduation exam papers to assess his academic ability.
Party B has requested 100,000 personal points as an academic ability assessment fee, and Party A agrees, but Party B must give his best effort when completing the test. If Party B fails to do so, Party A reserves the right to request that the school recover the personal points.
---
The contract was concise and clear, and Rin could read it in its entirety at a glance. However, after reading it, Rin noticed something he found problematic.
"Chabashira-sensei, what does 'give your best effort when completing the test' mean? What if I give my best, but the result doesn't satisfy you? Are you planning to take back the personal points you gave me?" Rin asked, clearly dissatisfied.
Chabashira smiled at Rin's protest, "Do you think it's unfair?"
"Of course it's unfair! You should delete that condition!" Rin said very seriously. "Everyone knows that I, Rin Matsuoka, am the most trustworthy person. As long as the points are in place, I'll get it done—even if it's illegal!"
"…"
Although Rin's words sounded exaggerated, his serious expression made it seem genuine.
After some negotiation, Rin finally convinced Chabashira to remove the condition from the contract. In exchange, Rin gave her a verbal guarantee that he would do his best on the test papers.
Finally, Rin Matsuoka signed the contract, pressed his fingerprint, and received 100,000 personal points from Chabashira Sae.
Now Rin was only 100,000 points away from the 300,000 personal points required to complete his task.
In fact, it should have been 95,000. The extra 5,000 points were the reward that Horikita Suzune earned for giving up her seat.
"It's noon now. I should be able to prepare the test paper by around four this afternoon. You can come to my dormitory at five o'clock and complete the test there. I'll send the address to your phone via the school's Line app later," Chabashira Sae informed him.
"Doing the test in your dormitory?" Rin raised an eyebrow. "Is that... appropriate?"
Chabashira Sae glanced at him and replied in a completely indifferent tone, "What's inappropriate about it? Does it bother you?"
"I don't mind. As long as it's fine with you, Chabashira-sensei, then it's fine with me."
Since the teacher conducting the test was Chabashira Sae, Rin figured there wasn't anything to worry about.
But if it had been Hoshinomiya Chie who invited Rin over, well, that might have been a different story…
After all, Hoshinomiya-sensei liked handsome guys a bit too much—she probably wouldn't mind a little romance between an older woman and a younger man!
Rin pulled out his phone and opened the school's custom version of the Line app, which he had downloaded a long time ago.
After registering using their student ID numbers, Rin and Chabashira Sae added each other's Line accounts.
"Alright, see you later, Chabashira-sensei," Rin said as he waved goodbye.
"Alright."
As Rin walked away, Chabashira Sae's usual cold and indifferent expression melted into a sly, heart-stirring smile. She pulled out a cigarette and lighter from her desk drawer.
Placing the slender cigarette between her lips, she flicked the lighter, and a small orange flame sparked to life, igniting the cigarette.
Hiss~ Hu~
Chabashira took a drag and then slowly exhaled, parting her lips slightly as a stream of smoke drifted out. The entire movement had a seductive, almost melancholic beauty to it.
Reflecting on how Rin had so boldly proposed a deal to her earlier, Chabashira couldn't help but smile. Holding the cigarette between her fingers, she muttered to herself.
"Rin Matsuoka... what an interesting and audacious student."
[Chabashira Sae has decided to keep an eye on the host every day. Congratulations to the host for getting one step closer to violating school rules.]
"Violating school rules... what the hell?" Rin muttered, confused.
[Host, don't you understand why this violates school rules? The school strictly forbids teachers and students from dating.]
[If the two of you were to fall in love, one of you would have to stop being a teacher, or you, host, would have to stop being a student.]
"Alright, alright, I get it, Narrator! You don't need to keep explaining!"
