Chapter 114: I want to vomit, but I can't!

___

"Rin-san thinks I'm pretty and cute, so… I can't let him down. I have to dress up nicely on Saturday!"

Delighted, Sakura Airi secretly decided she must dress herself up well and not show up to the date in her usual plain outfit.

Rin Matsuoka, resting his chin in his hand, glanced at Yamauchi Haruki's envious, jealous, and bitter expression, feeling a hint of satisfaction.

Horikita Suzune was right—Rin had a rather mischievous personality and enjoyed teasing people. Still, he genuinely did have a date with a girl tomorrow, on Saturday.

This wasn't something he made up just to provoke Yamauchi Haruki.

It had only been a few days since school started, and yet the handsome Rin had already secured a date with a girl. Naturally, Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji were green with envy.

However, in his bid to form a friendship with Rin and use it as a gateway to join the girls' social gatherings, Yamauchi suppressed his frustration and jealousy, continuing the conversation with Rin.

"How about Sunday? You don't have a date with a girl then, do you, Rin-san?"

"Not really, but I can't say for sure. After all, it's not Sunday yet. Maybe a girl will ask me out by then," Rin replied with mock seriousness.

Even if Rin didn't have plans for Sunday, he had no intention of letting Yamauchi come to his dorm room to play games.

First, Rin wasn't interested in gaming.

Second, Rin had no desire to spend time with Yamauchi.

It was a clear and outright rejection.

"Hey, hey~"

The cheerful and lively voice of Kushida Kikyo rang out as she approached. This girl, who radiated an angelic aura, walked up to Rin with a bright smile.

"I heard everything just now! Rin-san wants to go out and have fun on Sunday, right? Coincidentally, we're planning a little get-together on Sunday—grabbing drinks, shopping for clothes, singing karaoke, that sort of thing."

"How about you join us, Rin-san?"

Kushida Kikyo moved closer to Rin, her bubbly and playful demeanor impossible to ignore. Her posture, combined with her cheerful energy, made it feel like she was about to collide with him.

Her wide eyes blinked innocently as she gazed at Rin, exuding both purity and charm. Onlookers, particularly Ike Kanji and Yamauchi Haruki, were practically fuming with jealousy.

Why was Rin the only guy popular with the girls?

Didn't they even notice the other boys?

"Kikyo-chan!"

Rin noticed something peculiar.

When Yamauchi Haruki called Kushida "Kikyo-chan," Rin saw a subtle twitch in her eyebrow.

"She clearly didn't expect that. She must be disgusted, right?" Rin mused internally.

[The host guessed correctly. The two-faced Kushida Kikyo just got goosebumps all over and even feels like vomiting.]

Wow. How much did Kushida Kikyo dislike Yamauchi Haruki to feel this way?

With her trademark sweet smile, Kushida Kikyo turned to Yamauchi. "Yamauchi-san, did you call me just now?"

"Yeah, I heard them calling you that yesterday, so I thought I'd call you that too. Hope you don't mind," Yamauchi replied casually.

"No, of course I don't mind."

Kushida's smile grew even brighter. "I'm so happy everyone feels comfortable calling me by my name. Making friends with all my classmates is my ultimate goal!"

Her radiant response left both Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji deeply moved.

What a kind and lovely girl!

She's simply an angel!

An angel!

[Host, Kushida Kikyo's urge to vomit is getting stronger and stronger.]

The prompt from the narration system made Rin Matsuoka burst out laughing.

"Pfft, hahahaha~"

Rin's sudden laughter drew the attention of Kushida Kikyo and the others.

"What are you laughing at, Rin-san?"

"I'm not laughing at anything. I just remembered something funny," Rin said, attempting to stifle his laughter.

"What's so funny that it made you laugh like that?"

"Well, I saw something yesterday. There was a guy who was so stupid that he ended up shooting himself in the foot. Don't you think that's hilarious?" Rin said, smiling as he tried to explain.

Rin's vague explanation left Kushida Kikyo and the others confused, though Yamauchi Haruki didn't seem to care. His sole focus was on joining the girls' group outing on Sunday and having a chance to hang out with them.

"Kikyo-chan!"

Kushida Kikyo's soft body flinched ever so slightly, a movement only Rin caught. He pressed his lips together, suppressing another laugh.

"Ike and I are free on Sunday, so let's go play with you guys!"

Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji looked at Kushida Kikyo with eager anticipation.

Inside, Kushida Kikyo felt her patience waning. Her inner resolve hardened like steel.

How could she possibly bring Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji along?

She knew the other girls disliked those two boys.

If she brought them without consulting anyone, the girls would undoubtedly blame her.

Moreover, Kushida Kikyo disliked Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji even more than the others did.

"I'm sorry," she said with an apologetic smile, "everyone specifically wanted to invite Rin-san, so I came to ask him. If Yamauchi-san and Ike-san want to join, I'd have to check with the others first."

[Kushida Kikyo appears regretful, but deep down, she dislikes these two boys and wishes she could kick them as far away as possible.]

Rin glanced subtly at the apologetic Kushida Kikyo. She was truly a master of embodying the phrase "what you see isn't always what you get."

However, since Rin himself disliked Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji, he wasn't in a position to judge Kushida Kikyo for feeling the same way.

Hearing that Kushida couldn't decide on her own, Haruki and Kanji boldly went off to find the group of girls, hoping to secure their approval for Sunday.

Had they already forgotten the lesson from yesterday? Hadn't the girls argued with them and made them look foolish?

As Someone once said, "When the wound heals, the pain is forgotten."

By that logic, Yamauchi Haruki and Ike Kanji must have truly awful memories.

The two annoying boys went off to pester the group of girls, leaving Kushida feeling visibly relieved.

At least I'm not the only one disgusted by them. They should bother others, too—that's only fair, she thought.

Kushida turned her sweetest smile toward Rin. "Rin-san, you're free on Sunday, right? Then let's plan to go out and have fun together."

"Well, I'm not sure yet. Let's talk about it when the time comes."

"Oh… okay."
