"what are you doing out here?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you the same question?" Fraus replied with a question of her own.
"I was.... Not that it's any of your concern but I was following someone,"
"I can help you get her, you know," Fraus said to him.
She wanted him to be curious, she wanted him to be the one to defile the goddess and as it was all going, he was going to.
"Help me get who? Who is 'her'? Who is she? I don't know what you are talking about," Akaya replied to her, feigning innocence because he knew if she continued to taunt him, he would give in.
He was already at the brink of letting go. His mind was filled with the thoughts of that fair maiden and on another side, he thought about what Fraus did to him the other night.
He knew it was all wrong, but he couldn't stop himself.
Rather than say something to her when she saw her smiling at him sheepishly, he walked away at a fast pace back to the temple.
When they both got to the temple, everyone had left.
Akaya looked around with the hope that he'd at least see the maiden.
"You can't hide from this forever, you know? You need to learn to take things if you want them,"
Akaya breathed out an exacerbated sigh, "What do you want from me, Fraus? Uh, what do you want?"
"What do you think I want?" Fraus replied walking towards him seductively with a swing in her hips.
"I don't know... Just because of what happened the other night, you think ..."
It was then the maiden walked in. She looked at the exchange between Akaya and Fraus and muttered a 'I'm sorry, excuse me' but Akaya stopped her.
"No, you don't have to leave, you're the one I'm looking for. We were talking earlier and you just walked out like you didn't hear me or something,"
The maiden look at him with confusion hetched on her face. Fraus smiled where she stood. It was working, her plan was working.
"I don't know what you're talking about, I don't..." She said with a very soft voice.
Akaya scoffed under his breath. There was Fraus looking at him with need and the one he actually wanted didn't even notice him. It was like he didn't exist to her and this angered him.
It was then he heard a voice, almost like a whisper beside him.
'Take her, take what you want, what you deserve. Take her.' The voice said and Akaya was set on doing so.
He walked towards the maiden with one mission set in his mind. His arrogance clouded his mind, his judgement. He didn't even notice that it was night time and the full moon was out. He didn't notice that alas it was the third day of the celebration and he had been out since.
He grabbed the maiden and pulled at her shawl revealing the most beautiful face he has ever seen. Her lips were perfectly sculptured and her hair flowed and shone under the moon.
The maiden, whose name he didn't even ask for, looked at him and shook her head vehemently.
"You don't know what you are doing," she said, her voice shaky, "you need to stop,"
"Trust me, I know what I need to do, and it is this," he grabbed her face and forced his lips on hers. He kissed her like his life depended on it.
To Akaya, he was the greatest hunter and he was the son and the next Sef in line, so why wouldn't she want her, why wouldn't anyone? He wondered as he pulled at the maiden's garment.
Fraus stood in a distance, egging him on by being the voice in his head.
Akaya tore open her garments, revealing a velvet skin, smooth like silk without blemishes or scars.
He wanted to admire for a while but the sight of her rising chest distracted him and he was already as hard as a nail.
"Trust me, you will enjoy this," he said in a whisper to the maiden.
"No, no, please," she pushed him and began to beg, "don't do this," she cried.
"No, don't..." Her voice was lost just as Akaya forced his way into her.
"Oh goddess, you are tight but not for long," he said to her.
The maiden hit by the sheer pain of his forceful entry and the pain that coursed through her, just laid on the ground as he had his way with her.
Akaya kept on pushing in and going out, he was having the time of his life. He thought to himself, that at least if they found out he had laid with the maiden, they would make her his wife. The goddess will be appeased, and everyone will be happy.
His release came with a roar, he didn't even feel this way when Fraus had him inher mouth. He kissed the maiden on her lips and stood up. He looked at where she laid and wondered why she was looking at him with such lifeless eyes.
He want down to check her and seeing that she was still breathing, carried her to the pool of water that was in the shrine.
"You need to wash yourself up, don't worry. I'll marry you, I'll be next Sef anyway and you will be mine," but the maiden said nothing.
It was then Akaya looked up and saw that the moon was out and it was brighter than usual, as if to say the moon goddess was saying 'I saw everything, child' but at that moment, Akaya could care less.
He left the maiden by the pool of water and with a last glance rushed out of the shrine. He couldn't find Fraus anywhere, so he went in search for her.
"Oh mother goddess!" the maiden cried out, she was by herself, ashamed and filled with anguish. She knew the life of chastity which she had sworn to the moon goddess didn't matter anymore, she was now impure, stained, and irrelevant.
So, she did the next thing possible.
She found a stone nearby the pool, and as the moon shone brightly on her, she stepped into the pool and slit her wrist. Then she dived into the water with her face up to the moon.
Her death was the beginning.
