Chapter 1 - The gods are jealous

"Prophecy be damned!" Aarav shouted at his parents when they told him about the Moon goddess' words as regards their curse, or gift as his mother calls it.

"Aarav, you don't understand. None of us asked for this, trust me, but we cannot do anything about it but hope that the next alpha, you perhaps will be the one to get mated to the female that will save us," his mother explained to him in a pleading tone.

Aarav was having none of it,in fact, all he wanted to do was bash the moon goddess' head in.

A woman? He scoffed, his future, the future of his clan rest in the arms of a woman?

many years ago…

The people of the Luna tribe lived in harmony, always worshiping the luna goddess and staying out of trouble. their land was prosperous and their women boe children like rabbits. their males, feast for the eyes and their females were not left behind. They were just mere human beings who believed in the supernatural being up on the moon. not one of them dared to deviate from her teachings. They had priestesses of the luna goddess and also acolytes; females, virgins who had devoted themselves to the service of the goddess.

They knew of other clans but no one dared to venture into them. They were more secluded and somewhat happy with themselves. And all the more, they gave their thanks to the Luna goddess for they knew that as long as they worshiped and obeyed her, the goddess would bless them plentifully. None of them knew of her wrath, until one fateful day.

The people of the luna clan only knew about the moon goddess as their goddess and to them no other god or goddess existed. they paid no mind to any other supreme being and this made these gods envious, so they devised a plan.

Although the moon goddess never asked her devotees to be a virgin and never lay with any man, she prided herself over this fact that they chose to do so in honor of her. and because Rau who had been sent by the conclave of the other gods and goddesses knew of this, she used his mind filled with mischief to lead them astray.

Fraus was a lesser goddess who like the other lesser gods and goddesses has been ignored for a long time. The god of the sun, Sol, was worshiped by some beings and it felt to them as if only those two beings were recognized. Fraus was known for her deceitful nature, being full of deceit and mischief, she was sent to live among the children of the moon. And when she did come among them, she was welcomed with open arms, their undoing if only they knew.

"She is so beautiful," one of the children said when they saw Fraus being led to the clan chief. The females shielded their husbands and the unmarried females hissed.

Fraus had a sway in her hips that caught the attention of all, men and women alike. She knew even as a lesser goddess, she was still beautiful, so she owned it. She made eyes at the men as she walked by, it was more of a shy look but in an enticing way. The men who had their gaze on her trailed behind the guards that led her to the chief and she reveled in the knowing.

"Where did you find her?" The aged chief asked with a strong voice.

The guard shook a bit but stood his ground nonetheless, "she was roaming outside the border, Şef. Me and the others asked who she was and where she was going, she said nothing. She seemed a bit lost, Şef, so I brought her here." The guard replied with his head bowed.

The Chief looked at the woman in front of him scrutiny, she looked a bit too beautiful to just be lost and she definitely did not look like she came from around their clan or any other clan in particular.

"What is your name, maiden?" Şef asked her.

Fraus smirked inwardly but maintained a calm and collected face, "Fraus, Şef, my name is Fraus."

"And where are you from? What are you looking for here? Do you have any family around?" He hurled questions at her and first she was caught off guard but maintained composure still.

She was just about to answer when the wife, Seraph, came in. "Come on, Aaravov, you can't question a young lady like that. She is tired from her travels, and she also looks like she needs to retire soon. Why not postpone this interrogation to the next day?" She said to her partner and gestured for the guard to take the stranger away.

When Fraus had left their presence, Aaravov turned to his partner, " you shouldn't have done that, you know?" He said to her but with a smile on his face he drew her closer to him.

"Well, if I don't, nobody will and is it just me or do you seem to not care for the well being of the lady?" Seraph asked.

"I don't know. I just don't feel good about her. She looks like trouble," Aaravov replied

"Ravov, is this because she is beautiful? Not all beautiful maidens are trouble, you know?"

Aaravov laughed softly before shaking his head, "no, love, it's not that. She has a cloud of mischief around her, something that screams disaster. And besides I seem to remember a certain beautiful one causing the men to twist their necks," he replied to his partner as his hands disappeared underneath the hem of her clothes.

Moans, gasps and groans filled the air. The ink of arousal was hinting away as the Şef and his beautiful partner devoured each other.

However, Fraus was in communion with other lesser gods, hatching and re-hatching their plans, while the high priestess of the Luna goddess got a scent on an imminent danger.

The only question was if they knew they had a goddess amongst them.
