Chapter 4 - 4

As soon as we reached the door of the ward, we heard complaints coming from inside.

"Olivia is just too shameless.

She clearly agreed to a low-key wedding before, and now she's going back on her word and wants to hold a ceremony."

"That's not all.

She even dared to run away from the wedding, really not taking our family seriously!"

The speaker was Ethan's sister, Yvonne.

In this family, she disliked me the most.

Ethan's mother sighed with a pretentious air, "Yvonne, watch your words.

She's still your sister-in-law, after all."

"Hmph! If it weren't for her so-called life-saving grace, how could my brother possibly marry a disabled person."

Ethan heard these words and frowned slightly, but did not refute them.

It seemed that he also thought the same way in his heart.

I curled my lips into a mocking smile, laughing at myself.

He pushed the door open and entered.

Yvonne saw me and couldn't help but roll her eyes, "You still have the face to come here? You're truly shameless."

The old man lying on the hospital bed swept his sharp gaze over, his aura intimidating.

He said in a deep voice, "You're not welcome here.

You'd better leave."

Ethan furrowed his brows slightly and signaled me with his eyes to say something.

But I remained silent.

Yvonne let out a cold laugh, "Ill-bred thing, you don't even respond when an elder speaks to you? Didn't your parents teach you manners?"

I coldly surveyed everyone present.

Without hurry, I picked up the fruit from the bedside table and threw it straight at Yvonne.

"Today, I'll let you all see what it really means to be ill-bred."

With a backhand sweep, even the water glass was knocked to the ground.

The glass collided with the floor, splashing water and scattering shards everywhere.

Yvonne hurriedly hid behind Roxanne, but her mouth still cursed incessantly.

In the past, in order to maintain this marriage, I gritted my teeth and endured no matter how much they humiliated me.

I always believed that as long as I was tolerant, they would accept me one day.

But now I understood that with some people, it's not okay to indulge them too much.

I was burning with rage and threw everything I saw.

Several times, I nearly hit the old man, making him tremble with anger.

When I picked up the vase and was about to throw it, Ethan reacted and quickly stepped forward to grab my wrist.

His eyes were wide with fury as he scolded harshly, "Olivia, have you gone mad?"

"Yes, I have gone mad! It's you all who drove me crazy!"

Why should I bear all the suffering alone? Why should I tolerate their humiliation? Who gave them this power?

Ethan's grip on my wrist loosened slightly.

He stared at me with a tense face and snatched the vase from my hand.

He looked straight into my eyes, his sharp gaze seeming to penetrate my heart.

I didn't back down and met his gaze head-on.

Suddenly, Yvonne screamed, "Roxanne, your leg is injured."

Ethan's expression froze, and he instinctively turned to look.

The force with which he gripped my wrist instantly increased.

I frowned in pain and wanted to shake off his hand.

But then I heard a cold voice, "Olivia, apologize to Roxanne."

Everyone present was stunned.

They never thought he would say such a thing.

Yvonne was so angry that she stomped her feet, "Brother, what are you apologizing for? She clearly hurt Roxanne on purpose.

We should call the police!"

Roxanne looked at him with a complex and indiscernible gaze, forcing a smile, "It's just a small injury.

It doesn't matter.

I'll go bandage it up, and it'll be fine."

"No way! This is intentional harm and absolutely cannot be let go so easily!"

She wanted to say more, but Ethan's face darkened, and he gritted his teeth fiercely, "Shut up!"

Yvonne was most afraid of him getting angry and didn't dare make a sound.

But she still glared at me viciously when he wasn't looking.

The old man was very dissatisfied with his actions and frowned, "Ethan, Yvonne is right.

This matter can't be brushed off like this.

Divorce, you must divorce.

You can't let her hold you back anymore!"

Before he could finish speaking, the old man started coughing.

Roxanne quickly brought over a glass of water and said with concern, "Grandpa, don't be angry.

Your health is important."

Under her care, the old man's face softened considerably, and his gaze towards her became even more benevolent.

Ethan, however, had no time to pay attention.

He just kept pulling me and said impatiently, "Olivia, apologize.

Don't make me say it a third time."
