Chapter 12 - A Deal

Seol-A sat in Mrs. Cha's opulent sitting room, trying to come to terms with the latest demand. The idea of a wedding had thrown her into a state of anxiety, and the weight of Mrs. Cha's expectations felt nearly unbearable.

Hyeon-Woo, who had been silently contemplating the situation, turned to Seol-A with a serious expression. "Is everything alright?"

Seol-A took a deep breath. "I'm just… overwhelmed. The thought of a wedding feels like it's all happening too fast. And I don't even know if it's what I want."

Mrs. Cha, who had been listening attentively, looked concerned. "Seol-A, I understand this is a lot to take in. But it's important for family and appearances."

Seol-A nodded, her mind racing. She had been thinking about her mother's health, which had recently taken a turn for the worse. Her mother's condition was stable but required constant care and attention, and Seol-A had been struggling to balance her job with her caregiving responsibilities.

Hyeon-Woo, sensing her distress, stood up and walked over to her. "Seol-A, let's discuss this privately."

They stepped out onto the garden terrace, the evening breeze brushing against their faces. Hyeon-Woo turned to Seol-A, his expression gentle but determined.

"I know you're anxious about the wedding," he began. "But there's something we need to talk about."

Seol-A looked at him, her eyes filled with uncertainty. "What is it?"

Hyeon-Woo took her hand in his. "I know how much your mother's health means to you. I want to make a deal."

Seol-A's curiosity was piqued. "A deal?"

"Yes," Hyeon-Woo said, nodding. "If we go through with the wedding, I will personally ensure that your mother receives the best care possible. I'll arrange for top medical professionals and support services to make sure she's well taken care of."

Seol-A's eyes widened in surprise. "You'd do that?"

Hyeon-Woo smiled reassuringly. "I understand how difficult this situation is for you. I want to help in any way I can. The wedding is important for our arrangement and for Mrs. Cha, but I also want to support you and your family."

Seol-A felt a rush of relief and gratitude. The prospect of her mother receiving proper care was a huge weight off her shoulders. She nodded, a determined expression on her face. "Alright. If you're willing to make that commitment, then I'll agree to the wedding."

Hyeon-Woo squeezed her hand gently. "Thank you, Seol-A. I promise we'll make this work, and I'll be there every step of the way."

As they returned to Mrs. Cha, Seol-A felt a newfound sense of resolve. The wedding, once a source of stress and confusion, now seemed more manageable with Hyeon-Woo's promise of support. Mrs. Cha noticed the change in their demeanor and smiled approvingly.

"Everything settled?" Mrs. Cha asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Yes," Seol-A said, her voice steady. "We'll go ahead with the wedding."

Mrs. Cha beamed with delight. "Wonderful! I knew you'd come around. We'll start the preparations immediately."

With the decision made, Seol-A and Hyeon-Woo set out to plan their wedding, balancing their personal concerns with the grandeur expected by Mrs. Cha. The upcoming event took on new significance, symbolizing not just a formal agreement but a deepened commitment to each other's well-being.
