Chapter 55 - C:57

With a smile tugging at my lips, I turned to Cassie, Autum, and Rosalia, gesturing toward the path ahead. "There's something I want to show you—something special that I've been working on."

Cassie's eyes lit up with excitement as she bounded ahead, her curiosity piqued. "What is it? What is it?" she chirped, nearly bouncing with each step.

Rosalia, standing next to me, arched a brow, a soft smirk playing on her lips. "You've been busy again, haven't you, Rosé? What are you hiding this time?"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Nothing hidden, just something you might find... intriguing."

Autum walked beside us, her crimson eyes scanning the environment. "I've sensed a cold, powerful presence. It feels ancient and tied deeply to nature—almost like it's calling out."

"You're not wrong," I said, glancing at her. "But you'll see soon enough."

We continued down the path, the air growing cooler the closer we got to the sanctuary. The Frostspire Sanctuary, which I had painstakingly built with the help of the family, was a place of eternal winter, a haven I had crafted for a very special seed. Rosalia knew about the sanctuary itself but not the spirit forming within the tree.

When we arrived, the frosted air hit us with a wave of biting cold, though it was more invigorating than harsh. The ice-covered exterior of the sanctuary gleamed in the sunlight, a testament to the countless hours of work that went into perfecting it. Inside, the temperature was regulated by enchanted runes that kept the frost at just the right level for the delicate balance required by the **Frostpetal Elixir Tree**.

I opened the doors, letting them step inside. The air shifted immediately, as the magical insulation kept the cold from escaping, preserving the environment perfectly. The glass ceiling allowed filtered sunlight to bathe the room in soft, blue-tinted light, illuminating the frost-covered ground and the tree that stood in the center.

Cassie's jaw dropped. "This place is amazing! It's so... cold but so beautiful!" she exclaimed, running ahead to get a closer look at the tree.

Autum, standing still for a moment, took in the sight with wide, awe-filled eyes. "This... this sanctuary... it's magnificent, Rosé. You've created an environment that's one with the essence of winter."

Rosalia, who had seen the sanctuary before, seemed just as impressed as she had the first time, but there was a curious glint in her eyes. "The tree has grown since I last saw it. It's... different now, more alive."

I smiled, stepping forward and resting a hand on the Frostpetal Elixir Tree's trunk. Its blue-hued leaves shimmered, and frost clung to its bark like delicate lace. "That's because something extraordinary has started happening here. This tree is more than just a rare plant—it's forming a spirit within."

Cassie gasped, running up to touch the tree's bark. "A tree spirit? Like me?"

I nodded. "Yes. It's forming a spirit that I've named Grace. She's still young, still growing, but this tree will give birth to a powerful guardian, just like you, Cassie."

Rosalia's eyes widened in realization. "A tree spirit? Here? I should've known. It's rare, but there are legends about trees with such deep connections to nature that they form their own guardians. Grace, you said?"

I nodded. "Yes. She's still forming, but I can already feel her presence. Just like how the Frostpetal Elixir is a rare and powerful herb, this tree is nurturing something even rarer."

Autum stepped closer to the tree, her hand brushing the frosted leaves. "It's incredible. I can feel the energy radiating from within, so cold, yet so full of life. This tree is... special, like it's from another world entirely."

I smirked at her comment, my gaze drifting to the forming spirit within the tree. "You're right about that, Autum. It's not just any tree—it's tied to the flow of Lumina itself. Its fruits carry immense power, enough to increase one's vitality and rejuvenate their strength. But more than that, it's tied to Grace. Once she's fully formed, she'll be the heart of this sanctuary."

Rosalia's hand gently traced the outline of the frost-covered tree trunk, her voice soft with reverence. "I had no idea this sanctuary held something so powerful. You've outdone yourself, Rosé. I can only imagine what Grace will be like when she awakens."

Cassie grinned, stepping away from the tree and looking up at me. "Grace is going to be my friend, right? We're both tree spirits, after all!"

"Of course," I said with a laugh. "She'll need your guidance, Cassie. Just like you've grown into your role, Grace will too."

Autum smiled softly, her gaze drifting from the tree to me. "You have a way of creating and nurturing life, Rosé. I've never seen anyone who can bring out the best in the world around them like you do."

Her words were heavy with admiration, and I could see the flicker of something deeper in her crimson eyes. The connection between us, like with Cassie, was growing stronger with each passing moment.

Rosalia, noticing the subtle shift in the atmosphere, smirked and crossed her arms. "Seems like you're winning over everyone, Rosé. You've already got half the spirits in the village wrapped around your finger."

I chuckled, turning to face her. "I just have a knack for making friends, I suppose."

Rosalia laughed softly, and even Cassie giggled at the playful banter.

"Speaking of making friends..." Cassie piped up, darting off toward a nearby patch of frozen ground and returning with a small plant in her hand. "I found this earlier! I win!" she exclaimed proudly, holding the plant up with a grin.

I grinned down at her, kneeling to her level. "You win, huh? And what's your prize?"

She giggled as I kissed her on the cheek. "Hmm... I'll think about it."

Autum and Rosalia laughed softly, watching our interaction. The playful teasing continued, but beneath it all, I could feel the bond between all of us growing stronger. The sanctuary, with its calm, wintry atmosphere, had become a place of connection—between me, the spirits, and the family that surrounded me.

Grace was still forming, but I had no doubt that when she awoke, she'd become yet another integral part of this growing family. The Frostspire Sanctuary was only the beginning of what we were capable of building together.
