Chapter 111 - Princess Treatment Season 176 - Episode 739: "The Dinner"

"Arabella, you look stunning tonight," said Prince Cedric as he pulled out Princess Arabella's chair for her. She smiled politely and sat down, smoothing her silver gown.

"Thank you, Cedric. You clean up nicely as well," she replied with a wink. Their eyes met for a moment, revealing a spark of mutual affection beneath their formal facades.

The royal dining hall was decorated lavishly for the occasion. Flowers filled every vase and candles lit up the polished wood surfaces. But for Arabella and Cedric, the rest of the world faded away as they began to eat.

They started with a salad made of the freshest greens from the garden, topped with juicy berries and nuts. "This is quite delicious," Arabella commented between bites. Cedric nodded in agreement, enchanted by the way her rosy lips curled up in delight.

Soon the main course arrived - roast duck with rosemary potatoes and honey glazed carrots. Arabella savored each flavor carefully while Cedric hung on her every expression, wishing they could stay in this private paradise forever.

Just then, a booming voice cut through their tranquil evening. "I hope you two are enjoying your little party," sneered Prince Damian from the entrance. Without warning, he hurled a fireball at their table, setting the fine linen ablaze.

Arabella gasped and leapt back from the sudden flames. Cedric sprang into action, grabbing a pitcher of wine to douse the fire before it could spread. "What is the meaning of this?" he demanded of Damian once the danger was past. But the villain had already vanished, leaving nothing but panic and puzzlement in his wake.

"I'm sorry our meal was disrupted," Cedric said gently, taking Arabella's hand in his. She took a shaky breath and met his gaze with steely resolve. "Let us not let Damian ruin our night. The food may be burned but our spirits remain." Her kind words eased Cedric's anger, and together they resolved to continue their dinner despite the interruption, their bond growing stronger through shared turmoil.

Prince Cedric and Princess Arabella tried their best to enjoy the rest of their dinner, despite the disturbance. They made light conversation about the latest fashions at court and upcoming royal festivities.

All seemed to be going smoothly until Prince Damian reappeared, this time not alone. With him were his brothers, Prince Rafael and Prince Alejandro. "Forgive our intrusion again," Damian sneered. "We couldn't resist crashing your little party a second time."

Cedric rose from his seat, his calm demeanor belying the anger simmering within. "You are not welcome here, Damian. Leave at once before I am forced to remove you."

"Ooh, I'm shaking in my boots," Damian mocked. He snapped his fingers and his brothers flanked him, cracking their knuckles menacingly. "My friends and I were just looking for some fun. What do you say we have a good old brawl, Cedric, man to man?"

Before Cedric could respond, King Maximus's booming voice cut through the tension. "That is enough! I will not have fighting and mayhem in my dining hall." The king towered over the villains, his stern gaze commanding their respect. "Damian, you and your cohorts will leave now, or face the dungeons."

Damian scowled but knew better than to disobey the king directly. With a last sneer at Cedric, he and his brothers turned and strode away. Arabella exhaled slowly, coming to stand by Cedric's side. "Thank you for defending me," she said softly. He smiled wearily. "You need not thank me, my dear. Protecting you is my honor." Their eyes met with warm affection, finding solace in each other even amid chaos.

After the chaotic scene in the dining hall, Cedric escorted Arabella back to her chambers to rest. "I am sorry our evening was disrupted," he said ruefully. "Damian and his brothers seem intent on causing trouble."

Arabella smiled gently. "Do not apologize, my dear prince. Their actions are not your doing." She paused, her expression turning serious. "I worry what Damian may have planned next. His harassment seems aimed directly at you."

Cedric nodded grimly. "You may be right. I have long competed for the throne against Damian, and he has never taken defeat gracefully." Sighing, he took Arabella's hands in his. "But I promise I will not let any harm come to you. We shall increase the guard and be on high alert."

At that moment, Princess Seraphina burst into the room. "You must come quickly," she panted. "There is trouble brewing in the lower town. Damian and his brothers are stirring up unrest among the people!" Without another word, the trio rushed off to assess the chaos and prevent further conflict. What new treachery was Damian plotting, and could Cedric keep the kingdom from descending into turmoil? Their challenges were just beginning.

Prince Cedric and Princess Arabella sit down for a romantic candlelit dinner. The chef has prepared all of Arabella's favorite dishes. Soft music plays as they talk and laugh, gazing into each other's eyes.

Just then, Prince Damian bursts into the dining room, followed by his brother Alejandro who is carrying a torch. "You two make me sick," Damian spits. Before Cedric can react, Alejandro throws the torch onto the table, sending the candles toppling over and catching the tablecloth on fire.

Cedric leaps into action, grabbing a pitcher of wine to douse the flames. But more fires have started, and the room is quickly filling with smoke. Cedric pulls Arabella away from the inferno that was their dinner. "Are you alright?" he cries over the crackling flames. She nods, coughing.

From outside they hear Damian laughing maniacally. "This kingdom will burn until you are dethroned, Cedric!" he shouts. Cedric holds Arabella close, staring into the burning room in frustration. How far will Damian go in his quest for power? And can Cedric stop him before it's too late?

Prince Cedric and Princess Arabella sit down for their romantic dinner. The chef has prepared all of Arabella's favorite dishes, from rosemary chicken to chocolate mousse for dessert. Soft music plays as the two talk and laugh, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes.

Just then, the doors burst open and Prince Damian strides in, followed closely by his brother Alejandro. "Ugh, you two make me sick," Damian spits distastefully. Before Cedric can react, Alejandro pulls a torch from behind his back and throws it onto their table, causing the candles to topple over and the tablecloth to erupt into flames.

Cedric leaps from his seat, grabbing the nearby pitcher of rose wine to douse the fire. But the flames have already spread, rapidly filling the room with smoke. Coughing, Cedric pulls Arabella away from the burning wreckage of their romantic dinner. "Are you alright, my love?" he cries over the crackling inferno. She nods, coughing and clinging to him fearfully.

From outside, they hear Damian's cruel laughter carrying through the windows. "This kingdom will burn until you are no more, Cedric!" he shouts menacingly. Holding his distressed princess close, Cedric gazes angrily into the smoldering dining room, frustration and worry swirling inside him. How far will Damian go in his crazed quest for power? And can Cedric stop him before anyone else gets hurt?

The smoke was thick and black, filling Prince Cedric's lungs as he searched desperately for Princess Arabella through the chaos. "Arabella!" he cried, choking on soot. Through watery eyes he spotted her slender form huddled against the far wall, gown ashen from the spreading flames.

In two great strides he had her in his arms, carrying her bridal style from the burning room. Outside, the courtyard was alive with frenzied activity as servants rushed to contain the fire. Cedric set Arabella gently on a stone bench, checking her worriedly for injury between bouts of ragged coughing. "Are you hurt, my love?"

She shook her head, coughing weakly. "I-I'm alright." Her delicate hands gripped his forearms, leaving ashy smudges on his sleeves.

Prince Damian's mocking laughter cut through the air once more. "A pity the fire missed killing you both," he sneered from atop the parapets. "This is only the beginning, Cedric. Your kingdom is doomed!" With that, he vanished into the night.

Rage and fear battled within Cedric's heart. How to protect his people - and the woman he loved - from Damian's murderous insanity? For now, he could only hold Arabella close and pray the madman's threats were not yet fulfilled. Danger lurked in every shadow; the fight to save their lives had only just begun.
