Chapter 3 - The Call of the Ancestors

Chapter 2: The Call of the Ancestors

Time seemed to fade away for Ethan Black. The changes he had begun to experience in his body were not just physical; something deeper stirred inside him. Not a day had passed in the last month when he didn't wake up bathed in sweat, with his heart beating wildly after a dream that repeated night after night, always the same. It was a dream that plunged him into an ancient darkness, a connection that went beyond what he could understand. Every time he closed his eyes, he found himself in a vast cave, a place shrouded in shadows, illuminated only by the faint light of the moon that filtered through an opening in the ceiling. He was surrounded by packs of wolves who watched him silently. His eyes shone with a wild intelligence, and the air around him was charged with electricity, as if everything in that place was expectant, waiting. In the center of the cave stood an imposing figure: a man transformed into a creature that could barely be described as human. He was gigantic, his muscles straining under rough skin covered in dark hair. Fangs protruded from his jaw and his claws, long and sharp, seemed capable of destroying anything that stood in his way. His eyes, bright and wild, were fixed on Ethan.

The being slowly approached, the intimidating size of it seeming to dwarf the space around it. When he spoke, his voice echoed like thunder off the walls of the cave, reverberating in Ethan's ears.

"The change is coming," the creature said in a deep, somber tone. You are destined to guide yours. You can't run away from who you are, Ethan. The power of the ancestors flows into you.

Ethan always woke up at that moment, with those words etched in his mind, like a warning, but also like a promise. His heart was pounding, and for a few seconds, reality faded as he tried to shake off the feeling that this dream was not just a creation of his subconscious, but something more… a calling.

The weeks passed, and the changes in His body continued to advance. His muscles became stronger, his reflexes faster, and every time he trained or did some physical task, he noticed how his strength surpassed that of any other teenager. His attractiveness had also increased considerably, which did not go unnoticed by those around him

Jacob, his brother, had witnessed all of this. Since childhood, the relationship between the two had been one of mutual admiration. After the death of his mother and the accident that left his father in a wheelchair, Ethan had become the pillar of the family. In Jacob's eyes, Ethan was a hero; he had taken on the responsibility and burden of taking care of everyone without complaining even once. That maturity forced by tragedy had awakened deep respect in Jacob, who always wanted to follow in his brother's footsteps

However, the arrival of Bella Swan into their lives began to change everything. Bella, with her calm nature and air of mystery about her, quickly became friends with both brothers. They spent summers together in La Push, laughing and exploring the woods. But Jacob soon realized something that made him deeply uncomfortable: Bella was not only Ethan's friend, but she seemed to look at him in a different way

Jacob had had feelings for Bella ever since he met her. Their friendship had turned into a deeper feeling, but he had never dared to say anything. However, Bella seemed to be more interested in Ethan. Even though he never told anyone, Jacob noticed how Bella looked for him when she thought no one was looking, and how she smiled in a special way when she was close to him.

Over time, that admiration that Jacob feeling for his brother began to mix with envy. How could he compete with Ethan? Not only was he stronger and more mature, but he also seemed to attract all the important people in his life. Jacob loved his brother, but he couldn't help but feel jealous of the special connection Ethan and Bella seemed to share

Tension grew in Jacob, although he never expressed it openly. Every time he saw Bella and Ethan together, his heart sank. He wanted to be as strong as Ethan, he wanted to be the one Bella looked at that way. But he knew there was a distance between him and his brother that he couldn't close. Despite everything, Jacob couldn't hate Ethan. He admired him too much, and although he had a hard time accepting it, he understood that the relationship he shared with Bella was not his brother's fault. It was as if destiny was charting a path for each of them, and although Jacob didn't understand why, he knew he had to accept it. Ethan had always been his protector, and deep down, Jacob knew that she would do anything for him and his family. Meanwhile, Ethan's dreams continued to torment him. Every night, the same giant wolf, his ancestor, reminded her of his destiny. And although he didn't know exactly what it meant, Ethan was beginning to suspect that his life would never be the same. The changes his body was experiencing, the power he felt building up inside him… everything pointed to something that was about to happen

The change was inevitable. Ethan felt it in every fiber of his being, but what he didn't know was that this change would lead him to face not only his destiny, but also his family and those he loved.
