Chapter 12 - Meeting Nyx the Talking Crow

Oh, and one more thing, you guys should meet Nyx, Cid said. As he said that, a Crow familiar materialized before them and spoke, introducing itself.

Zeph's eyes sparkled with excitement as he leaned forward, getting a closer look at Nyx. "Wow, a talking familiar! That's so cool!"

Nyx preened under the attention, fluffing up her glossy black feathers. "Why thank you, young werewolf. I must say, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She turned her intelligent gaze to each member of the group, studying them with interest.

Cindy reached out tentatively, her green fingers hovering just above Nyx's head. "May I pet you, Nyx? Your feathers look so soft and beautiful."

The crow familiar bobbed her head in assent. "But of course, my dear. I do take pride in my appearance." As Cindy gently stroked Nyx's feathers, the bird let out a contented coo, clearly enjoying the attention.

Dee watched the interaction with a smile, her crimson eyes twinkling with amusement. "Nyx seems to have taken a liking to you, Cindy. I think she's found a new admirer."

Cid chuckled, his heart swelling with warmth as he observed his friends bonding with his familiar. It felt right, sharing this part of himself with them. "Nyx has been with me since I was a child," he explained, his voice soft with nostalgia. "She's more than just a familiar; she's family."

Happiness filled Nyx's heart as she listened to Cid's words. As the Group spoke to each other getting to know Nyx and each other better.

In an Underground Kingdom a woman was pacing back and forth in her chambers looking troubled and worried. she is a striking figure with a mystical and dark aesthetic. She has long, white hair styled in braids, which adds to her otherworldly appearance. Her skin is pale, and she has intense, icy blue eyes that create a captivating gaze.

Her attire features a richly detailed, dark gown with intricate designs that suggest regal elegance. A large, ornate crown with antler-like elements sits atop her head, enhancing her royal and formidable presence. Around her neck is an elaborate necklace that complements her outfit, and she wears a translucent veil that adds a layer of mystery to her character. her chambers or bedroom is a beautifully designed and gothic it incorporates rich, dark tones and intricate architectural details. A large, ornate window features elaborate tracery, allowing a stunning view of a castle and a serene landscape outside, suggesting a mystical or fantasy setting.

Inside, the room is furnished with a luxurious bed adorned with elegant black linens, complemented by plush cushions. Decorative elements such as candles and vintage-style lamps cast a warm glow, enhancing the mood of the space. The walls exhibit a textured, perhaps aged appearance, adding to the overall gothic aesthetic.

This blend of romanticism and drama, along with the enchanting view, creates a captivating atmosphere that feels both cozy and mysterious.

For hours, the Queen of The Vampires had paced back and forth in her bedroom, her regal black gown sweeping across the marble floor with each step. Her ebony hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, a sharp contrast to her pale skin and piercing blue eyes. As both a powerful ruler and a mother to Dee, she carried the weight of two worlds on her shoulders. News had reached her that her daughter had gone missing days ago, and despite their best efforts, there was still no sign of her anywhere in the settlement. Panic had slowly crept into the Queen's heart, overshadowing her usual composed demeanor.

As she questioned herself as a mother and regretted not spending more time with Dee, a loud knock at the door broke the silence. The heavy sound echoed through the entire room, causing the Queen to pause mid-step. She could feel the tension building as she made her way towards the door, wondering if this would be the moment when they finally found her missing daughter. But as she opened the door, all hope faded as she was met with yet another disappointing report from her royal knights.

The Queen's face fell as the Royal Knight delivered the disheartening news. "Your Majesty, I regret to inform you that our search parties have still found no trace of Princess Dee. We have scoured every corner of the settlement and beyond, but it is as if she has vanished into thin air."

The Queen's heart sank, a wave of despair washing over her. She had hoped against hope that this time, the news would be different. That her beloved daughter would be found safe and sound, ready to return to her arms. But with each passing day, that hope grew dimmer.

She dismissed the knight with a curt nod, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you for your efforts. Please, continue the search. Leave no stone unturned."

As the door closed behind the knight, the Queen allowed herself a moment of weakness. She sank into a nearby chair, her shoulders slumping under the weight of her worry and guilt. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she blinked them away, refusing to let them fall.

"Oh, Dee," she murmured, her voice heavy with emotion. "Where have you gone, my darling girl? What could have driven you to leave everything behind?"

The Queen's mind raced with possibilities, each more troubling than the last. Had Dee been kidnapped by their enemies, the werewolves or the humans? Had she run away, seeking a life free from the burdens of royalty?

Meanwhile, After spending the whole day talking at the canteen, the group finally decided to call it a night and headed back to their dorms. As they chatted about their plans for the weekend, a small mechanical snake with black scales and red crystal eyes emerged from a crack in the table. Upon closer inspection, one could see tiny microphones embedded within its eyes and camera lenses on its head. Meanwhile, in the girls' dormitory, a mysterious figure named Lucy Binary had been watching and listening to their entire conversation through the snake's cameras. With her striking appearance of long platinum blonde hair and captivating eyes, Lucy was known for her intelligence and creativity. She was always eager to learn new technologies and programming languages, often approaching problems with a unique perspective that resulted in innovative solutions. Despite being friendly and approachable, there was an air of mystery surrounding Lucy that only added to her allure. Technology was her passion, and she spent most of her free time coding, gaming, and staying up-to-date on tech trends.

Her voice was soft and raspy as she spoke, "Interesting group. They'll keep me entertained." A grin spread across her face. Back in the boys' dorm, Cayden went straight to bed, while Zeph sat on his bed meditating and cultivating his Qi. Cid lay in his bed, researching the sanguine martial arts school he had learned before. As he was about to doze off, a notification from the system appeared: "Your Hunger Grows - please consume within 24 hours or there will be consequences." Cid reached for the flask Dee had given him from the Shadow Space granted by his link with Nyx and took a drink from it. Another notification popped up: "Hunger sated - you no longer hunger." Cid placed the flask back into the space and stored his new scythe before going to sleep.

The Next Morning, Instead of home rooom they were to go to the special class they registred for Cid woke up early and after showering and dressing in his military attire he took out his scythe and made a plain black Sheate to cover it and headed out the room. Since he had sometime before the fighter class he wanted check out the classroom before it began as she approached the classroom Inside the room, the professor sat meditating, fully aware that Cid was approaching. As Cid entered, a wave of vibrant colors surrounded him, revealing the unique aura that flowed around his being. The professor possessed a remarkable power known as Aura Perception, allowing him to see and sense the emotional and spiritual energies of everyone and everything within a 500-meter radius.

With each breath, he could visualize Cid's aura—a radiant blue indicating calmness—but also hear the soft whispers of emotions resonating around him, revealing deeper truths beyond mere words. The professor could intuitively understand the unspoken feelings and intentions of those he encountered, making him a wise advisor and healer.

The professor opened his eyes and smiled warmly at Cid, gesturing for him to come closer. "Welcome, young warrior. I sensed your arrival. Please, have a seat."

Cid bowed respectfully and took a seat on the mat across from the professor. He couldn't help but feel slightly awed in the presence of someone with such a remarkable ability. The professor's aura radiated a soothing green, indicative of his peaceful and nurturing nature.

"I am Professor Zephyr," the man said, his voice gentle yet strong. "And you must be Cid, the one who has recently awakened to his vampire powers and merged with the essence of the Crimson Reaper."

Cid's eyes widened in surprise. "How did you know about that, Professor?"

Professor Zephyr chuckled softly. "Your aura tells me many things, young Cid. It is a tapestry woven from the threads of your experiences, emotions, and the very essence of your being. And within that tapestry, I see the unmistakable hues of a vampire warrior reborn."

Cid felt a wave of relief wash over him. It was comforting to know that there was someone who understood his unique situation without judgment. "I came here early to get a feel for the classroom before the other students arrive," he explained, his fingers absently tracing the hilt of his sheathed scythe. "I want to be prepared for anything.

Professor Zephyr nodded, his eyes twinkling with understanding. "Your dedication and foresight are admirable, Cid. I sense a great strength within you, both physical and mental. But I also perceive a hint of uncertainty, a question that lingers in your heart."

Cid blinked, taken aback by the professor's insight. He had indeed been grappling with a nagging doubt, one that he hadn't voiced aloud to anyone, not even his newfound friends. "You're right, Professor," he admitted, his voice low. "I can't help but wonder... am I truly worthy of this power? Of the legacy of the Crimson Reaper?"

Professor Zephyr leaned forward, his green aura pulsing with empathy. "Worthiness, young Cid, is not something bestowed upon us by others or by circumstance. It is a quality we cultivate within ourselves, through our actions and intentions."

He reached out and placed a comforting hand on Cid's shoulder. "The fact that you question your worthiness tells me that you have the humility and self-awareness necessary to wield your power responsibly. It is those who believe themselves inherently deserving that we must be wary of."

Cid felt a weight lift from his chest, replaced by a growing sense of determination. "Thank you, Professor. Your words mean more to me than you know."

Professor Zephyr smiled warmly. " Do you know how to use Qi Professor?" Cid Suddenly asked,Professor Zephyr nodded, his aura shimmering with a soft golden light. "Indeed, I do, young Cid. Qi is the very essence of life itself, the energy that flows through all living things. It is the foundation upon which many abilities, including my own Aura Perception, are built."

Cid leaned forward, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Can you teach me how to use Qi, Professor? I've seen the power it holds, and I believe it could be a valuable tool in my journey."

The professor stroked his beard thoughtfully, his gaze piercing through Cid as if seeing into his very soul. "Learning to harness Qi is no simple task, Cid. It requires discipline, patience, and a deep understanding of oneself. But I sense within you the potential to become a true master of this ancient art."

He rose gracefully to his feet, his robes swirling around him like a gentle breeze. "Come, let us begin your first lesson. We will start with the basics of meditation and breath control, the foundation upon which all Qi cultivation is built."

Cid eagerly followed the professor to the center of the room, where they both sat cross-legged on the mat. Professor Zephyr guided Cid through a series of breathing exercises, instructing him to focus on the flow of energy within his body.

As Cid closed his eyes and concentrated on his breath, he began to feel a warmth spreading suddenly as if seeing inside his one body i saw two orbs one was a bright red Orb and the other a faint blue orb that both lay at his core. The blue orb was small at the Center of red orb almost fading when he tired to access it believing in was his Qi Energy he found it hard to but the moment he succeed and tired to grow it a jolting pain coursed through his body and he quickly stoppped as he said it seems the vampire energy in my body is stopping my Qi from flowing and is slowing putting it out.

Professor Zephyr's brow furrowed as he observed Cid's struggle, sensing the conflict within his aura. "Interesting," he murmured, his voice laced with concern. "It appears that your vampire energy is suppressing your natural Qi flow, creating a dissonance within your body."

Cid opened his eyes, a flicker of frustration crossing his face. "But why? Shouldn't they be able to coexist, to work together?"

The professor nodded thoughtfully. "In theory, yes. But you must remember, Cid, that your transformation into a vampire was not a natural process. The merging with the Crimson Reaper's essence has disrupted the delicate balance within you."

He placed a comforting hand on Cid's shoulder. "However, do not lose heart. This is merely an obstacle, not an insurmountable barrier. With time, patience, and the right guidance, I believe you can learn to harmonize these two aspects of yourself."

Cid took a deep breath, his determination renewed. "What must I do, Professor?"

Professor Zephyr's aura pulsed with a soft, encouraging light. "You must learn to embrace both sides of your nature, Cid. The key lies in acceptance and understanding. Your vampire energy is not a foreign invader, but a part of who you are now."

He gestured for Cid to close his eyes once more. "Let us try again. This time… before they could continue the bell rang for the start of class and Professor Zephyr stopped the lesson and said let's have class now we can continue later. They both stood up and as filtered incident took a step back from the professor. There were no desks or chairs in fighter class classroom it looked like a grand hall dedicated to fighting the students surrounded Professor Zephyr is a circle and he began his lesson, " Welcome to the Fighter Class I am Professor Zephyr, i fought in the first war against the Xelthanrns and defeated four of their commanders"

Professor Zephyr's words hung in the air, a testament to his prowess and experience. The students murmured in awe, their eyes wide with admiration for the battle-hardened veteran before them. Cid felt a surge of excitement, knowing he was in the presence of a true master.

The professor's aura pulsed with a steady, confident light as he surveyed the gathered students. "In this class, you will learn not only the techniques of combat but also the philosophy behind it. A true fighter is not just a wielder of weapons, but a guardian of peace, a defender of the weak, and a beacon of hope in the face of darkness." Cid suddenly felt a hand brush against him at his right and looking he saw Dee and Cindy and Zeph who had joined the Fighter Class wave at him. CID smiled seeing his friends and waved back, and they all quickly continued listening to the lecture.

Professor Zephyr, began to pace around the circle, his gaze meeting each student's eyes in turn. "The path of the warrior is not an easy one. It demands discipline, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to your principles. But for those who possess the courage and the will to walk this path, the rewards are immeasurable."

Professor Zephyr came to a stop, his aura shimmering with anticipation. "Now, let us begin with the fundamentals. The first lesson you must learn is that your greatest weapon is not the blade in your hand or the ability coursing through your veins, but the strength of your mind and the purity of your heart."

He gestured for the students to pair off, and Cid found himself facing a tall, muscular student with a determined glint in his eye.

Professor Zephyr's voice rang out, clear and commanding. "Begin with the basic stance. Feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, hands relaxed at your sides. Focus on your breath, on the flow of energy within you."

Cid and his partner mirrored each other's movements, settling into the stance with practiced ease. As they began to circle one another, Professor Zephyr's words echoed in Cid's mind. "Remember, this is not about overpowering your opponent. It is about understanding them, anticipating their moves, and using their own strength against them."

Cid's partner lunged forward, his fist aimed at Cid's jaw. Time seemed to slow as Cid's heightened senses kicked in. He could see the minute tensing of his opponent's muscles, the slight shift in his weight that betrayed his intentions. With a fluid motion, Cid sidestepped the blow, his hand grasping his partner's wrist and redirecting the momentum.

The other student stumbled, caught off balance by Cid's unexpected move. Cid took advantage of the opening, sweeping his leg behind his partner's knees and sending him tumbling to the mat. The student landed with a soft thud, blinking up at Cid in surprise.

"Well done, Cid," Professor Zephyr praised, his aura glowing with approval. "You are beginning to understand the true essence of combat. It is not about Overpowering your opponent. The Professor move on to each student assessing their fights and he got to Dee who was having trouble she was used to fighting with a sword as that's what she was taught so martial arts was not her strong suit Professor Zephyr watched her closely and gave her some advice.

Professor Zephyr approached Dee, his aura emanating a calming, supportive energy. He could sense her frustration and unease as she struggled to adapt to the unfamiliar martial arts techniques. Her partner, a lithe and agile female student, had managed to evade Dee's attacks and counter with swift, precise strikes.

"Dee," Professor Zephyr called out, his voice gentle yet firm. "Take a moment to center yourself. Remember, the sword is merely an extension of your body and your will. The same principles apply, whether you wield a blade or your own two hands."

Dee took a deep breath, her crimson eyes flashing with determination. She settled back into her stance, her posture more relaxed and fluid. Professor Zephyr nodded approvingly. "Good. Now, instead of focusing on the weapon you lack, concentrate on the strengths you possess. Your heightened senses, your speed, your agility. Use them to your advantage."

As her partner moved in for another attack, Dee's vampire instincts kicked in. She sidestepped the blow with preternatural grace, her body twisting like a dancer's. In a blur of motion, she spun behind her opponent, her hand striking out like a snake, fingers finding the pressure points along the other student's arm.

The female student gasped, her arm going limp as Dee's precise strike temporarily paralyzed the nerves. Seizing the opportunity, Dee swept her opponent's feet and they fell to the Ground. She jumped up happy like a little girl who had just done something she been practicing, she bowed to the professor thanking him. Cid looked at Dee from the side basking in her beauty causing him to be distracted from his opponent as he blow hit his face knocking him back.

Cid stumbled back, caught off guard by the sudden blow to his face. His opponent, sensing an opening, pressed the advantage, launching a flurry of strikes aimed at Cid's chest and stomach. Cid's vampire reflexes kicked in, allowing him to deflect most of the blows, but a few still managed to slip through his defenses.

From the corner of his eye, Cid caught sight of Dee's concerned gaze. Her crimson eyes widened in alarm as she watched him struggle against his opponent. Cid felt a flush of embarrassment, knowing that his momentary distraction had put him at a disadvantage.

Professor Zephyr's voice cut through the haze of pain and frustration. "Cid! Focus on the present moment. Let go of all distractions and center yourself."

Cid took a deep breath, pushing aside the throbbing in his jaw and the flutter of his heart at the thought of Dee's attention. He closed his eyes for a split second, reaching deep within himself to find that core of calm that Professor Zephyr had spoken of.

As he exhaled, Cid felt a renewed sense of clarity wash over him. The world around him seemed to slow, the movements of his opponent becoming more predictable, more manageable. With a swift, fluid motion, Cid ducked under a high kick, his hand snaking out to grasp his opponent's ankle.

Using his vampire strength, Cid yanked the other student off his feet and he fell to the ground. Suddenly, attention turned towards a student that Yelled "I will Defeat you!" Who franktically sprinted towards a specific student who had a firm stance like a rock standing there and as the fist of the student collided with the stomach of the student a crunching sound of bones braking was heard his hand was broken and he loud scream echoed through the room AHHHHH!!!!. a student said about the student on the floor isn't that the blaze family kid and who he's opponent, another said that the transfer student Zeph something right how is he so tough. Professor Zephyr quickly went to help the blaze student and using Qi to mend his arm, while glancing at Zeph is contemplation as he realized Zeph was a Qi Master and had reached a level above he's he had master the 5th stage of Qi Master realm.

Professor Zephyr helped the injured Blaze student to his feet, his arm now mended thanks to the professor's skilled use of Qi. The student looked at Zeph with a mix of fear and awe, clearly shocked by the transfer student's incredible strength and resilience.

Zeph, for his part, seemed unfazed by the incident. He stood calmly, his posture relaxed yet alert, as if ready for any further attacks. His orange eyes held a glimmer of something ancient and powerful, a depth of knowledge and experience that belied his youthful appearance.

Professor Zephyr approached Zeph, his aura pulsing with curiosity and respect. "Zeph," he said, his voice low enough for only the two of them to hear. "You have achieved a level of Qi mastery that is rare, even among the most dedicated practitioners. The fifth stage of the Qi Master realm is not easily attained."

Zeph inclined his head, acknowledging the professor's words. "I have devoted my life to the study and cultivation of Qi," he replied, his voice calm and measured. "It is the foundation of my strength, and the key to understanding the world around us."

Professor Zephyr nodded, his eyes sparkling with understanding. "Indeed. But I sense there is more to your story, young Zeph. The Qi within you carries the echo of something ancient, something primal. The spirit of the wolf, perhaps?"

Zeph was a bit surprised by also sensed the Qi in the Professor and understood how the professor knew this. When someone reaches the fourth stage of Qi they have 3 paths to choose from The Path of Insight, The Path of Strength or The Path of Serenity.

ThePath of Insight emphasizes heightened perception and intuition. Practitioners cultivate their ability to sense not just the Qi of themselves but also the Qi of others. This deep sensitivity allows for more profound connections and understanding of interpersonal dynamics. It's often associated with heightened awareness, empathy, and the ability to read subtle cues in people and situations.

The Path of Strength of focuses on using Qi to enhance physical capabilities. Practitioners may engage in disciplines that develop their physical power, endurance, and resilience. where the aim is to fortify both body and mind, leading to exceptional physical prowess.

Path Serenity represents a harmonious balance between insight and strength. Practitioners cultivate not only their physical capabilities and perceptive skills but also an inner peace and emotional stability. This approach fosters a holistic way of living, where body, mind, and spirit are aligned, creating a sense of tranquility and centeredness.

Zeph said " Path of Serenity right?" Professor Zephyr smiled and said " May we speak after class?"

As the class came to an end, the students bowed respectfully to Professor Zephyr before gathering their belongings and filtering out of the grand hall. Cid, Dee, Cindy, and Zeph lingered, waiting for the opportunity to speak with the professor privately.

Professor Zephyr approached the group, his aura radiating a warm, inviting energy. "Thank you for staying, my young friends. I believe there is much we can learn from one another."

He turned to Zeph, his eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Zeph, your mastery of Qi is truly remarkable. I would be honored to discuss your training and experiences further, perhaps over a cup of tea in my office?"

Zeph bowed his head, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I would be delighted, Professor. There is always more to learn, and I have a feeling your insights will be invaluable."

Professor Zephyr then addressed Cid and Dee. "And you two, the vampire warrior reborn and the princess in hiding. Your paths are intertwined in ways even I cannot fully comprehend. But I sense a great destiny ahead of you both."

Dee glanced at Cid, her crimson eyes shining with a mix of excitement and trepidation." Then he turned to Cindy, i could tell you have not been in many fights Goblins are truly facinating creatures it an honour to meet one in my life time, Your strength far exceeds anyone here except Cid here and its not just your Goblin Strength but you have reach the pinnacle of the third stage of Qi without realizing it.

Cindy's eyes widened in surprise at Professor Zephyr's words. "The pinnacle of the third stage of Qi? I had no idea..." She looked down at her green hands, as if seeing them in a new light. "I've always been stronger than others, but I thought it was just my goblin heritage."

Professor Zephyr placed a comforting hand on Cindy's shoulder. "Your goblin strength is indeed formidable, but your Qi cultivation has enhanced it even further. With proper training and guidance, you have the potential to become a true force to be reckoned with."

Cindy's face lit up with a mixture of pride and determination. "Thank you, Professor. I'm eager to learn more about this power within me and how I can use it to help others."

Cid, watching the exchange, felt a swell of affection for his friends. Each of them carried unique strengths and challenges, but together, they formed an unbreakable bond. He stepped forward, his voice filled with conviction.

"Professor Zephyr, I believe fate has brought us all together for a reason. We each have our own paths to walk, but I know that we are stronger united than we ever could be alone. With your guidance and wisdom, I am certain we can face whatever challenges lie ahead."

Professor Zephyr's aura pulsed with a warm, approving light. "Well spoken, Cid. The bonds of friendship and the strength of unity are powerful force.
