Lucian raised his eyebrows, for the first time, he saw Celyn getting angry, and he was responsible for it. Did he really betray her by crossing his limits?
Celyn sniffed back her tears, her eyes fixed on the exit as she walked past Lucian. Their shoulders brushed in a gentle touch. Lucian's gaze followed Celyn as she walked away, the only sound was the click of her heels echoing through the silence.
As soon as Celyn disappeared from view, Lucian's anger exploded. He slammed his fist into the wall, "Damn it!" he growled.
.....
As the night drew in, Celyn stood by the roadside, waiting for a taxi. But there wasn't a single car in sight, nor were there any people around. The cold made her shake uncontrollably, celyn wrapped her arms around herself as she waited for a Taxi. It was then that she realized she had left her phone and purse at the party.
"Goodness...how do I get home now!" She barely knew her way back. Celyn looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, but there was no sign of a taxi.
With no other option left, she started walking in a random direction, her heels clicking onto the paved ground, the distant noise of the city and the sound of the wind breeze made Celyn feel even more scared.
Just then, a sleek black car pulled up beside her, startling Celyn. The window rolled down, revealing Lucian's chiseled face. "Celyn, get in," he said, his voice low and commanding, sending a shiver down her spine.
Celyn rolled her eyes and continued walking, her heels clicking against the road. "You won't find any taxis around here... trust me" Lucian called out, driving slowly alongside her.
"Not your business!" Celyn replied, gritting her teeth. She quickened her pace, but Lucian kept pace with her.
"Look, this area is off-limits to people... there's no chance of you finding a ride," Lucian said, his voice laced with concern. Celyn paused, looking at Lucian. For a moment, she saw a hint of desperation in his eyes.
But Celyn ignored him, and Lucian's expression turned helpless. "I guess you're not aware of the wild animals around here... Celyn?" His words made her heart skip a beat. Her body was covered in goosebumps. Was he just trying to scare her?
"Really?" she asked
Lucian nodded swiftly. "Yes, Celyn. It's not safe for you to be walking around here alone at night."
Celyn hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But something about Lucian's tone made her feel like she had no choice. She got into the car, and Lucian drove off into the night.
"What are you doing, Lucian?" Celyn asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I'm taking you home " Lucian replied, his eyes fixed on the road.
"But why?" Celyn bit her lips, trying hard to surpass her anger.
Lucian's gaze shifted to celyn, and for a moment, Celyn thought she saw something there, something that looked almost like... desire. But she looked away
"Because I don't want you to be alone tonight," Lucian said, his voice low and husky.
As Lucian drove, Celyn's anger stirred up, She couldn't believe Lucian had kissed her like that, especially after they had agreed to keep their relationship away from romance
When they arrived at her apartment, Celyn got out of the car and turned to face Lucian. "Why did you do that?" she asked, her voice shaking with anger.
Lucian got out of the car, his eyes locked on hers. "Do what?" he asked, his voice calm
"You know exactly what I'm talking about,You kissed me, Lucian, After we agreed to keep this arrangement platonic" Celyn said in a low tone, but her face was burning with fury
Lucian took a step closer to her, his eyes laced with concern. "I couldn't help myself, Celyn. I saw you standing there, and I just... reacted."
Celyn's eyes flashed with anger. "Well, congratulations, Lucian. You've managed to ruin everything. I won't marry you again. You can just marry that woman your parents arranged for you!"
Lucian's face went white, and for a moment, Celyn thought she saw a hint of panic in his eyes.
"Celyn, please... don't say that," Lucian said, his voice low and urgent.
But Celyn was consumed by her emotions. She turned and stormed into her apartment, leaving Lucian standing alone outside
Lucian stood outside Celyn's door, his fists clenched as he begged her to let him in. "Celyn, please... just listen to me. I can explain everything."
But Celyn refused, She sat down on the floor, hugging herself tightly. She wasn't used to feeling this way, hurt, betrayed, and confused.
Lucian's words were suppressed by the door, but Celyn could sense a hint of desperation in his voice. "I didn't mean to kiss you, Celyn. I swear it was just a reaction. I couldn't let you take those shots... I know how dangerous they can be."
Celyn's eyes welled up with tears as she thought about Lucian's words. He had kissed her to protect her, but that didn't excuse the fact that he had broken their agreement.
Lucian's voice was barely audible now, . "Celyn, please... don't shut me out. I need to explain... I need to make things right between us."
But celyn just sat there, frozen in her emotions, not sure of what to do next. Celyn hugged herself, tears welling up in her eyes, feeling exhausted . "What do you want, Lucian?" she whispered to herself, her voice shaking with emotions.
Lucian's heart was racing as he wondered about Celyn. He could hear her silently crying from outside, making his heart ache. He couldn't explain why he felt this way. And in that moment, Lucian knew that he was in trouble. He was starting to develop feelings for Celyn, feelings that would to ruin his and Celyn's life.
Lucian's eyes narrowed, clenchiny his fists in frustration. He got back into his car, but couldn't bring himself to drive away. Instead, he chose to watch over Celyn, his eyes fixed on the door of her apartment. it was getting darker and darker but he didn't move.
Celyn's tears slowed as she noticed that Lucian had stopped knocking at her door.
Could it be that he had left? Celyn wondered, but didn't move an inch.As the hours ticked by, Celyn's eyelids became heavy, and she eventually fell asleep on the floor.
As the night wore on, Lucian's gaze never left the door, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was already in too deep...
....
The next morning, Celyn woke up, glancing at her empty apartment, the silence making her recall last night's drama. As she dragged herself to the bathroom, the memory of Lucian's kiss hit her, but she shoved it away, focusing on the warm water pouring on her skin.
After showering, Celyn got dressed and decided to make breakfast for herself. But as she opened the refrigerator, she realized she had run out of eggs and milk. "Seriously?" she muttered, rubbing her forehead.
she was about to give up until she remembered the cash she had kept in her room. Celyn sighed in relief.
But as she stepped out of her apartment, her eyes widened in surprise. Parked by the roadside was a familiar black car. "L... Lucian?" she whispered, her heart skipping a beat.
