Chapter 27 - Another Task Appears

In the dungeon behind the constabulary's mountain:

Li Xing, with his hand and foot tendons severed, lay collapsed on the cold stone floor in an iron-made cell. An iron muzzle covered his mouth to prevent him from biting his tongue to commit suicide.

At the dungeon entrance:

"Take me to see Li Xing!" Su Hao ordered the guard on duty.

"Yes, sir. Please follow me," the guard replied, leading Su Hao downstairs. As the deputy chief and second-in-command of the constabulary, no one stopped Su Hao from entering the dungeon.

The dungeon was dark and damp, with water occasionally dripping from the rocks. The sound echoed through the space.

The guard led Su Hao and Little Liu down the stairs, deeper into the dungeon. This particular dungeon was specially designed to hold martial artists from the jianghu world. Ordinary criminals were held in other cells within the constabulary.

Soon, they arrived at Li Xing's cell.

"Where is Han Lu being held?" Su Hao asked, noticing that Han Lu wasn't in any of the nearby cells.

"Deputy Han is held on the other side, about 10 cells away from here," the guard replied, pointing in the opposite direction.

"Open the cell. I want to see this Li Xing," Su Hao instructed. The guard complied, opening the door for Su Hao to enter.

Looking at Li Xing sprawled on the floor, Su Hao couldn't help but click his tongue. "How pitiful!"

Li Xing opened his eyes, surprised to see Su Hao. He couldn't understand why this young master had suddenly appeared. Was it because Lu Hao couldn't make him talk earlier, so they sent this playboy to try?

He closed his eyes again, ignoring Su Hao.

"Little Liu, hold his mouth. Guard, remove the iron muzzle and pry his mouth open," Su Hao ordered, not wanting to waste time in the dungeon.

"Yes, sir!" They quickly complied, removing the muzzle and forcing Li Xing's mouth open.

Su Hao then took out a bottle of truth serum from his pocket, removed the cap, and poured a small amount into Li Xing's mouth. Given Li Xing's current mental state, he didn't need much of the serum.

"You..." Li Xing wanted to speak but didn't know what Su Hao had given him. This wasn't following the usual interrogation script at all.

Soon, Li Xing's eyes became unfocused, and he appeared dazed.

"Release him," Su Hao instructed. The guard and Little Liu let go, and Li Xing collapsed to the ground.

Su Hao approached Li Xing, grabbed him, and demanded loudly, "Tell me all the Blood Moon Cult locations in Fu City and the names of all the members you know."

Li Xing, now in a confused state, began mumbling incoherently. Su Hao had to lean in closer to hear him clearly.

"Little Liu, start writing this down," Su Hao ordered.

Little Liu, still bewildered by the situation, didn't understand how Su Hao had made Li Xing talk so easily. Nevertheless, he obediently took out writing materials and began recording.

As Li Xing spoke, Little Liu's eyes widened in shock. "This..."

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and write it down!" Su Hao urged.

Little Liu snapped to attention and quickly recorded Li Xing's words. When Li Xing finished speaking, Little Liu handed the notes to Su Hao.

Su Hao scanned the list of names and saw "Blue Moon" among them.

"Tell me, who is Blue Moon? Give me details about her," Su Hao whispered in Li Xing's ear. This was his main objective.

"Blue Moon is the adopted daughter of the branch leader. She came to Fu City two months ago and became the vice leader of the local altar. Although she's the vice leader, she doesn't report to me. From my observations, she has early Earth Realm strength," Li Xing mumbled, his voice growing weaker.

"So she's the adopted daughter of the Blood Moon Cult's branch leader and has early Earth Realm strength," Su Hao frowned. This Blue Moon, who wanted to move against him, would be difficult to deal with.

"Tell me where your savings are hidden," Su Hao demanded, pulling Li Xing closer to hear clearly.

"In the Number Two courtyard on West Street. All my belongings are there," Li Xing muttered.

"Put the muzzle back on him. Let's go see Han Lu," Su Hao ordered, his expression grim. He had obtained too little information about Blue Moon, not even knowing her whereabouts.

However, gaining some wealth wasn't bad. The constabulary had rules: whatever information you could extract from prisoners in this dungeon was fair game, as long as important intel was reported to the constabulary. Any money or valuables found belonged to whoever discovered them.

They soon arrived at Han Lu's cell and used the same method to extract information, mainly about Blood Moon Cult disciples within the constabulary.

After obtaining the information, Su Hao took out a 200-tael silver note from his pocket and handed it to the accompanying guard.

The guard's face lit up with excitement. As a dungeon guard, he only earned 10 taels a month. He never expected Young Master Su to reward him with 200 taels.

"Thank you, Young Master Su! Thank you, Deputy Chief!" the guard exclaimed.

"Let's go," Su Hao said. "Little Liu, contact Captain Wang and the others. Go raid those two locations and bring everything back. Also, give these two lists to Chief Lu immediately."

"Yes, sir! I'll get right on it!" Little Liu replied happily, thrilled with their success, and quickly left.

Su Hao returned to the courtyard, hoping Gu Xi'er hadn't actually waited for him. To his dismay, she was sitting in his chair, lost in thought.

Seeing Su Hao, she stood up and quickly approached him.

"Come on, let's go shopping!" she said, not asking about the interrogation results to avoid embarrassing Su Hao, assuming he hadn't obtained any useful information.

[Task]: Gu Xi'er was the first person the host kissed after arriving in this world. Gu Xi'er is about to return to the Qingmu Sword Sect. The host must accompany Gu Xi'er shopping for 2 hours, with hand-holding time of at least 15 minutes. Reward: 500 check-in points, 5 Bronze Draw Cards.
