After coming out of the ward I held Gale's arm and took him to the backyard where no one could hear us.
"Gale," I said crossing my arms in front of my chest and continuing in a whisper, "Do you know the ring we found yesterday is a valuable asset of Ghost City."
As expected, Gale looked surprised and asked, "Who told you that?"
"Jake did."
Gale rolled his eyes in the name of the former and held my gaze for a few seconds before saying, " Viny, why am I getting the feeling that you want to do something unrelated to this case?"
"The lady who was shot yesterday is the daughter of the import officer," I said.
Gale nodded his head in affirmation and halted before sharply looking at me to continue.
"If I go on with my instinct, Ghost City is planning on or has successfully imported illegal materials to the country."
"Then surely we need to inform the matter to commander, this is a national threat if your instincts are right."
"No, we can't, I have a different plan in mind," I said.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, we don't even know if it's going to today, tomorrow or never. I just want to go and check something. We will go after duty hour, in civil dress."
"Well, I can't guarantee that I will help you with this. And what will you say to your father if he questions about your departure?
"Firstly, I don't even need you, I just need you to send me over on your bicycle. And secondly, your question seems right, what will I say to him?"
To give some thought, I sat on the cemented floor, supported my head with my hand and shook my leg to come up with an excuse.
Gosh, nothing is coming to my mind... no wait, can I?
"How about I tell him we two are going on a date?" I said reluctantly. It was an embarrassing excuse, but I was an adult but... but... but...
"Yes?---WHAT!?" I noticed his expression changing from confusion to shock.
I could sense his hesitation. He looked as if torn between two decisions, accepting or declining my request.
"Or is it that you already have a girlfriend"
"I don't." He said before I could conclude my sentence. "But don't you have any other excuses, I have been roaming about your house like your brother since we were eight!"
'It's time to become a boyfriend hoho...' I wanted to say the statement to him in satire but didn't proceed on that.
"I will talk to my father during the lunch break. He will not mind me fooling around with you" I said and without waiting for him, I proceeded to my office room.
"Hey wait! I didn't consented yet!" He said to my retreating back.
"My dearest slave, I don't need your consent," I said reminding him of our unsigned contract.
When we returned to the main hall, we pretended as if nothing of our conversation happened.

While Gale went to his chamber to retrieve some files, I came to the shared office room and saw poor June doing all the paperwork by herself.
"Oh my god, did the sun rise from the west today?" I said looking at her and took a seat beside her.
"You're acting as if royal has been feeding without butchering my social life," she said flipping her pen to the side and opening her specks to get a clear view of me.
It seems Jake had given her a stockpile of work. She opened her hair tie and smothered her fingers through her silky smooth hair. I astonishingly kept looking at her until she teasingly smiled and pointed me out, "What baby girl, you want to marry me?"
"Trash, of course not."
I took out my diary and read through all the questions and answers again. After remembering the details, I passed the diary to June.
"Later, I am busy," she said. "But you can point out the important details."
"Victim, 19 years old engaged to Gilbert Giloid; Murder suspect, a newspaper boy from Malini Press."
As expected, June was shocked to hear the engagement part and went on a full lecture mode to how rich Tycoons exploit their daughters.
The time passed and ticked nearly to 1100 hours till I found the possible suspects and it was past 1400 hours when Jake returned from the survey.
"Both of you, come to my office." he said in hurry and left.
