Chapter 3 - Awakening

CHAPTER 2.

[Ding!]

[You have obtained the Doom System]

"Huh? What is this weird floating screen?" Gojin thought, noticing he could see through the blindfold clearly. He stared at the screen with confusion etched on his face.

[Special ability! Host has the special eyes from birth: Doom]

[Ding! Reversing weak aura into EXP: 10]

"Oh, a system? Just like in those shity fictional stories. Well, I guess I'm in that kind of world now." Gojin's spirits lifted.

"System, what's my status?" he thought, since his mouth wouldn't cooperate. To his surprise, the system responded.

[Book Tab]

[Host character name: Gojin]

[Character: Strongest Exorcist, Support Character]

[Other Characters: (First Young Master of Host's Clan: Ryu) (First Young Miss: Yuki)]

[Main Character of the Book: Kenji]

"Okay, got it. What about my own stats?"

[No information will be shown yet!]

[Host is required to reach the age of 2!]

"Trash! Complete nonsense. System, tell me more. I'm too dumb for this!" Gojin grumbled, frustrated by the lack of information. He wanted to learn more about his stats to understand how strong he truly was.

He later grinned evilly with his baby lips; he was all about the fun and how he wanted to surpass the MC in strength.

Just then, Taro entered to play with Gojin, who instantly pretended to be sleeping.

"Oh, the cutie is asleep. I'm going to miss you, Gojin. You'll be leaving the Clan when you're five for your safety. I promise to protect you from the shadows."

"Who the heck is this dude calling 'cutie'? Accepted, though. Wait, is he serious about me leaving the clan once I'm five? Woah, that's like a dream come true!" Gojin thought, keeping his eyes shut, though no one could tell if they were open or not.

Taro was a master exorcist in the clan, known for his exceptional skills but also for his laziness, which kept him from going on quests. While other exorcists were out on missions, Taro preferred to lounge around, enjoying the peace of the clan since he wasn't required to train unlike the ranks below him.

Two minutes later, a knock came at the door. Taro commanded their entry while his gaze remained locked on Gojin.

"I can't imagine wearing a blindfold all the time," he thought.

Two kids entered the room, around three years old. Ryu had short, tousled black hair and bright, inquisitive eyes. He stood at about three feet tall.

Yuki had a long, silky hair tied in pigtails along with  blue eyes and a cheerful smile. She was slightly shorter than Ryu, at about two and a half feet tall.

"Children, this is painful. They're older than me in this world, but they'll still bow to me since I'm the strongest!" Gojin was determined to surpass every character in the book.

"Is this the baby?" Ryu asked with an elegant voice, turning his little eyes to Gojin. Suddenly, Gojin began floating in the air, slowly moving toward Ryu.

Yuki flicked her tiny fingers, and Gojin appeared on her arm.

Surprisingly, she could carry him with ease. Ryu walked over to her with a furious expression and dragged Gojin out of her hands. Yuki quickly grabbed his leg, pulling him back.

The two of them began to fight over Gojin, nearly splitting him in two."He is mine, and I shall train him!" Yuki argued.

"No, I shall! We are both men, and men should teach men because we would understand each other!" Ryu replied.

"I kinda like this one. His name is Ryu, I think. But I'm the boss. Ouch, my leg..." Gojin thought as they argued over him; His body was too fragile, his eyes began to slowly fill up with tears. He let out a fake scream, mimicking a baby's cry though it sounded real.

Taro intervened, collecting Gojin from their hands and placing him back on the bed gently.

"You guys should be careful. He's a newborn, so you can't handle him that way."

The two of them shrugged and waved goodbye to Gojin before leaving. They exchanged intense gaze the moment they got outside; They were enemies, never agreeing to each other.

"Thank you, Taro. I would have died," Gojin thought, relieved to be back on the bed.

Taro turned around to also leave the room, he switched off the bulb before leaving. Different thoughts and ideas began to come into Gojin's mind though he couldn't take much load but seriously, a grown up reincarnated into a baby; the body has to learn how to adapt cause he would be planning tricks a lot.

"I have to learn a lot about the characters and world-building. I'll start by taking notes on everything, especially since the system classified me as a side character in the book.

From what I gathered in the first three chapters, this system never existed in the original story. So, did it bring me here, or is there something else at play? This isn't just a phenomenon; there must be a middleman involved, and I need to figure that out."

Gojin gradually became weak as a smoke filled the room, it was called a sleep doze; Mostly for protection as it keeps someone hidden by making them fall into slumber for a while. Their aura would likely remain hidden at that point.

" Not again!."
