Chapter 24 - Waging War On Deadz

Travis walked out of the building, the echoes of the fight still lingering in the air. He headed back home, his thoughts drifting as he left the chaos behind. Moments later, Ryan and his gang cautiously entered the scene, eager to witness the aftermath.

The first thing they noticed was the sight of Jack's crew scattered across the floor, unconscious and battered beyond recognition. Their shock deepened as they moved further inside, only to find Jack lying in the middle of the debris, bruised and beaten to the point of being unrecognizable.

Ryan's eyes widened in disbelief. "Did Travis really do this? But... he lost to him just yesterday," he muttered, trying to make sense of it all.

His hands trembling, Ryan pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts, searching for Kyle's number. Once he found it, he hit the call button, his heart racing as he waited for the line to pick up.

[ Club Deadz ]

This was a club they had bought, a place where most of the Deadz executives came to unwind with drinks and women. Kyle was currently sprawled out on the lounge, barely focused, his eyes lazily following the girl giving him a lap dance.

Suddenly, a knock on the door broke through his fog of drunken pleasure, pulling him back to reality. He blinked sluggishly, enjoying the weight of his intoxication.

The door opened, and one of his goons walked in, holding a phone.

"Boss, someone's calling you," the goon said, extending the phone toward him.

Kyle, too drunk to care, didn't even bother to curse or ask questions. He took the phone and answered without glancing at the screen.

"Yeah?" he muttered.

"Senpai, it's me, Ryan," came the voice from the other end.

"And?" Kyle replied, barely interested.

"Well... Jack was defeated."

The moment those words hit his ears, Kyle's drunken haze vanished. His body jerked upright, eyes wide with sudden clarity. He quickly demanded, "Explain. Now."

"Well, it was Travis, the guy from before. He came here and beat everyone up... including Jack, senpai," Ryan explained, his voice hesitant.

"What?!" Kyle barked, his anger rising. "Change the call—show me!"

Ryan quickly switched the call to video. The moment Kyle saw Jack's battered condition, his face contorted with fury. He cursed loudly, startling the girl who had been with him.

"Alright, stay there. I'll be there in a minute!" Kyle snapped, cutting the call abruptly. He stood there for a moment, fists clenched in frustration.

"Man, the boss is gonna be pissed," he muttered under his breath before storming out of the room, his mind racing.

....

Travis took the bus home, earphones in, quietly reflecting on the day. A small smile crept onto his face.

'Hopefully, I just declared war on the Deadz,' he thought, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

When he arrived home, the house was quiet, and his mom still hadn't returned. He let out a sigh and stepped inside, only to be hit with the blaring sound of Taylor Swift coming from the living room. The music was deafening, and as he walked in, he saw his sister Maya and her friends having their own little concert, singing and dancing around the room.

Maya noticed her brother and immediately lowered the volume, throwing him an innocent smile.

"Big bro, you're back. Umm, these are my two best friends, Lily and Diana. Girls, this is my big brother," Maya said, introducing them with a slight grin.

"Hello," Lily said with a flirtatious smile.

"Hi!" Diana added, waving energetically.

Travis glanced at Maya, then gave a brief nod to the two girls before silently heading upstairs, not bothering to engage further.

Maya let out a sigh of relief and plopped onto the couch, feeling like they had dodged a bullet.

'That was lucky. Normally, he'd completely ignore them. I guess he really has changed like mom said,' she thought.

Lily leaned in with a smirk, "Why didn't you tell me you had a hot brother?"

Maya shot her a glare, her tone stern. "Girl, don't."

Travis changed into his gym wear and headed downstairs to the basement, where he resumed his workout routine. The rhythmic sound of weights and his controlled breathing filled the space as he focused on each movement.

Meanwhile, his mother returned home, arms loaded with groceries. After stepping inside, she greeted Maya and her friends, handing over the bags.

"Can you pack these away for me, please?" she asked Maya with a smile before heading upstairs to change.

A few minutes later, dressed in her own gym attire, she made her way to the basement. As she descended the stairs, she spotted Travis already deep into his workout.

"Am I late? Oh, I am," she said with a small laugh, watching him in action.

"Don't worry, at least you made it," Travis said, pausing mid-set to glance at her.

Evelyn was dressed in light blue gym wear—a fitted sports bra and tight leggings that accentuated her curvy figure. His gaze lingered for a moment, and he could feel his heart skip a beat as he quickly looked away, trying to focus back on his workout.

' Damn she's hot' he thought.

Evelyn noticed Travis staring at her body, and a faint blush crept onto her cheeks. "What? Is this too much?" she asked, her voice teasing but slightly self-conscious.

Travis quickly shook his head, trying to act casual. "No, it's fine. It looks like it gives you good flexibility, which is what we want."

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I also kinda gained a little bit of weight, so this will help. Let me start. Could you help me stretch first?"

Travis agreed without hesitation, and they moved into position to start the session together.

.....

While Travis was absorbed in his workout routine, Kyle arrived at the abandoned building. The sight before him was a chaotic mess: debris scattered across the floor, broken walls, and the remnants of Jack's gang strewn around. The dim light of the bright moon cast long shadows, making the damage look even more dramatic.

Kyle surveyed the scene, his expression shifting from shock to determination. He clenched his jaw, his anger barely contained.

'I'll have to pay him a visit tomorrow,' he thought, his mind already racing with plans for retribution. The weight of the situation settled on his shoulders, and he knew that the next encounter would be anything but peaceful.
