It was night time and their modest hut seems to be lively. Rey and Akuv were not asleep yet, instead, they seem to be relaxing within their humble abode.
"Well that pea was definitely filling. We should make some pea stew for breakfast tomorrow." -Rey.
"You said it pal! I'll definitely make some of that in the morning!" - Akuv.
"Yea, for sure, you make the best pea stew. Where did you learn it from?" - Rey.
"My wife obviously! She makes pretty good stew, the best the land ever known." - Akuv.
"Right, and I had the courtesy to think that you were able to cook." - Rey.
"Oh shut it, you are too lazy to even light up a fire!" - Akuv.
"I certainly ignited you with my comments, though." - Rey.
"Fine, you shall clean the plates then!" - Akuv.
"Okay geez calm down, I take back what I said, supreme majesty." - Rey.
"That's good, now shut up!" - Akuv.
Akuv went on to clean the dishes while Rey, with some effort, cleaned the table and made sure that everything is well kept and clean. After they were done, both of them sat around the middle of the hut where their campfire was located, reminiscing about good times.
"Man, how long more before we can afford some paper..." - Akuv.
"Can't believe old man Adashe hiked up the price, guess it's due to the process being more expensive for his age." - Rey.
"Yeah! And we thought we will be rich people when we come to this island, we barely made anything in the span of these few months!" - Akuv.
"Yeah and we might as well be beggars, they still earn more than whatever that we are doing now. Grass picking shouldn't be our only job." - Rey.
"Well then suggest something you fool!" - Akuv.
"Urgh, too lazy to think about it now. Besides, our main goal is to write back to our wives, god knows if they are worried sick." - Rey.
"Oh my beloved Thekla, I hope she isn't sick worried!" - Akuv.
"Oh well, let's just get enough cash to get some paper, ugh, I hope there was something more easier that pays well..." - Rey.
"Well there is being a laughing stock, you get money and get laughed at." - Akuv.
"We have pride, Akuv, I'll find shortcuts to pick grass, as always." - Rey.
"Avoiding hard work as always huh!?!" - Akuv.
"But it gets the work done, right?" - Rey.
"Grr, I hate how you have an answer to everything!" - Akuv.
"Everything but your hair growth." - Rey.
"Which has been caused by you! My poor poor hair!" - Akuv.
"Ah quit it, your wife still loves you despite your remaining strands. Let's get some bed, and wake me up a few hours you wake up, okay?" - Rey.
"Man this guy is impossible! but okay fine!" - Akuv.
The duo head back to their respective beds and slept on it, allowing the fire pit in the middle of their house to ignite, keeping them warm and their house lighted as their eyelids shut, thus ending their first day as the grasspickers, who knows what awaits them tomorrow?
