Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Selling the Crystals

Atis pointed his broad blade at Lin San, shouting loudly.

"You're insane! You people of the Tianba Empire are completely insane to dare kill warriors of the Dragon Empire!"

"And what if I do kill you?" Lin San responded coldly.

At this moment, he noticed that the Demon Slayer Sword in his hand was covered with a mix of dark and light energy. Half of the blade emitted a black aura, while the other half retained its white glow.

"You're dead! The others from the Dragon Empire are still in the city. They won't let you go! Not only you, but your entire family, your entire clan, will be wiped out without a trace!" Atis roared, his voice filled with fury.

"Is that so?" Lin San narrowed his eyes. In that instant, he made up his mind. Without hesitation, he charged forward with the Demon Slayer Sword!

"Kill him!" Lin San thought, remembering the earlier incident where his hesitation almost cost him his life. He wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

Whoosh—

"You're seeking death!" Seeing Lin San daring to attack again, Atis's expression changed drastically. He quickly raised his sword to defend himself.

Clang!

Their weapons collided, sparks flying in all directions. A noticeable chip appeared on Atis's broad blade, cleaved by the sharp edge of the Demon Slayer Sword.

What an incredibly sharp weapon! If only I could get my hands on it... Atis's eyes gleamed with greed.

But there was no time for further thoughts as Lin San pressed his attack, slashing fiercely with his sword. Lin San could feel the immense power surging through him, allowing him to battle evenly with this fourth-rank warrior, thanks to the strength granted by the Demon Slayer Sword. There was no need to resort to the blood-consuming ability, which was too risky.

Lin San executed the Tianqiong Sword Technique, engaging in a fierce battle with Atis. However, the Demon Slayer Sword was too sharp, and soon, Atis's sword was covered in nicks and cracks. The fissures on the blade grew larger and larger until, with one final clash, Atis's sword shattered completely!

Seizing the moment, Lin San slashed downward with the Demon Slayer Sword, severing Atis's right arm.

"Ahhh!" Atis screamed in agony, retreating quickly.

"I'm a warrior of the Dragon Empire..."

"That's exactly why I'm going to kill you!" Lin San cut him off. The more Atis invoked the Dragon Empire, the more enraged Lin San became. The atrocities committed by these Dragon Empire warriors made them deserving of death.

"Stop! Stay back!" Atis's face twisted in terror as Lin San approached once more.

"Fool!" Lin San growled, channeling energy into the Demon Slayer Sword.

[Phantom Dance]!

In an instant, the skill activated again, and Lin San became a blur, slicing Atis into countless pieces!

[Killed fourth-rank warrior, evolution points +400]

Ye Fan received the system notification, acknowledging the boost in evolution points.

"Another one down," Ye Fan remarked quietly. Accumulating these kills meant his evolution wouldn't take much longer.

"Finally," Lin San muttered, letting out a breath as he looked at the fallen bodies around him. These people had pushed him to the brink, but now it was over.

However, he knew he had to leave quickly. Surveying the scene, he thought, "These corpses will likely attract beasts soon."

With that, he swiftly departed from the area.

Soon, Lin San found himself back in Xingcheng.

"What can I do for you, young brother?" a middle-aged man in a large shop greeted Lin San as he walked in. The shop was bustling with warriors inspecting the goods.

"I'm here to sell some crystals," Lin San replied with a slight smile.

"Oh? Are they second or third-rank crystals? The current market price is…" the man began.

"Seventh-rank," Lin San interrupted in a low voice.

The man's eyes widened slightly at this revelation.

"Please, this way," he said softly, leading Lin San to a more private area. Soon, they entered a secluded room.

"May I see the crystals? It will help me appraise them for an accurate offer," the middle-aged man asked.

"Here," Lin San said, pulling out two seventh-rank crystals from his bag. He had absorbed the energy from the lower-ranked crystals during his recovery, leaving only these two for sale.

"Lightning Bear and Windstorm Panther crystals—impressive, young brother," the man remarked, his eyes filled with astonishment. These beasts were exceptionally powerful, yet Lin San, clearly not a high-ranking warrior, had managed to acquire their crystals.

"How much?" Lin San asked, watching the man closely.

"Usually, the market price for seventh-rank crystals is around fourteen thousand gold coins each. Our Zhangda Trading House will offer you thirty thousand for both. How does that sound?" the middle-aged man offered.

"Deal," Lin San nodded after a moment's thought. It wasn't a bad price considering the effort required to find a buyer willing to pay that much.

"Excellent. Please wait a moment," the man said, excusing himself briefly. When he returned, he handed Lin San a ring.

"A storage ring containing thirty thousand gold coins. The ring itself is worth a thousand gold coins—consider it a gift from Zhangda Trading House," the man smiled.

"Thank you," Lin San replied, putting on the storage ring. With a thought, he directed his mental energy into the ring and confirmed the contents—exactly thirty thousand gold coins.

Satisfied, Lin San handed over the two crystals.

"Young brother, might you be interested in selling your weapon?" the man asked after securing the crystals, his eyes lingering on the sword at Lin San's side. His keen eye had already discerned that the sword was no ordinary blade.

"No," Lin San replied, shaking his head. He would never part with the Demon Slayer Sword unless he was out of his mind.

"It seems that no matter how much I try to conceal it, my sword still draws attention," Ye Fan mused silently.

"I guess I'm just too dazzling for my own good," he added with a hint of amusement.
