NO ONE'S POV
Liliana sat in her car, her driver already knowing where to drive to.
Liliana's mind kept going back to the conversation she had with her father in the morning, and she was deeply hurt by his words.
She sat in the car, the wind blowing gently against her smooth skin and the warmth of the sun rays as it highlighted her mesmerizing features made her feel refreshed and relaxed.
She thought on the major problem that was bullying her, the betrayer in the Russo company feeding it off with important informations to other companies, and about the backlash that the company was undergoing.
Different theories, solutions and problems were running in her mind desperately to come up with the solution; these thoughts became quickly overshadowed by pessimism, 'Will I ever come up with the solution? Will this company meet its downfall? What will happen to my dad? What will happen to me? Is this the end?'
Negative thoughts ran inside her head as the car finally reached the colossal, luxurious building, breaking her out from her worrying.
Liliana opened the car door for herself and went out of the car. She walked inside this gigantic building.
Her heels ticking against the marble floor as she made her way to her office room. Her steps were confident, her presence ozzing out confidence and determination. The employees bowing in respect to her, due to her higher status.
Liliana's posture was firm and cool as the guards opened the gigantic doors that led to her office.
She went inside her office, took a seat in her head chair, then placed the bag on the big, designed glass table.
Liliana's office was luxurious and simple, with just a huge glass table in the middle of the spacious room, comfy black sofa's with gold decorations on each side, an abstract painting on the wall, at the back of her table and other fancy but simple accessories, displaying her simple but elegant self.
Her secretary, Elena Veiri. A calculating, young women with sharp almond, dark brown eyes, straight black hair, falling just past her shoulders, and a petite frame, knocked on her office door as Liliana agreed to let her inside.
Elena walked in with a straight and confident posture and walk. Poise is always the aspect that she carries, having impeccable tailored outfits that she wears to accentuate a slim figure, and thereby exuding confidence and competence.
"Good morning, Miss Russo," Elena said calmly and serenely. Her voice is professional and polished but with a subtle edge as if every word she said is measured and calculated to maximum effect.
"Good morning, Miss Veiri," Liliana replied even and measured in her tone, which was professional.
Liliana had known Elena for a few years, but they were still not friends or spoke out of boundaries after spending so much time together. They both were always professional with each other, even after spending years together.
"Have you found anything related to company's downfall?" Liliana asked, her voice never wavering as she focused her attention on Elena, her hazel eyes directed on her dark brown ones.
"No, not yet. The research team has been working nonstop, but there are still no signs of the culprit responsible for the downfall," Elena answered, her tone calm but firm, facing Liliana's gaze head on.
Elena was always good at hiding her emotions, in her facial expression and in her tone or voice. Her facial expression would always be either blank or calm, making it hard to read her.
"I need every report of every worker that has ever worked here and the research team," Liliana ordered, her voice steady and serious.
Elena nodded, "Yes, ofcourse, Miss Russo," with that last sentence and a bow of her head, Elena walked outside of the office.
Elena was good at guarding her emotions, and Liliana felt doubtful of it. Elena's experience in hiding her emotions made Liliana sometimes wary of her.
There stood a huge wooden chair at the study end. Liliana slumped into it with an exhausting and tired sigh that blew from her mouth. Another headache was brewing. Placing her hand on top of her head, beginning to massage her head by easing out the approaching headache.
Liliana sat at her computer and started to work. There were no meetings because of the bankruptcy and backlash of the Russo company, all the deals had been cancealed after the other CEOs found out about the backlash that the company was receiving.
A few hours later Elena knocked on the door and walked inside with a huge stack of profile papers.
She piled the stacks of paper on Liliana's table as Liliana beckoned her to leave her alone.
Elena walked out wordlessly. Her stand was firm and confident; her steps fast and loose.
As the door closed behind Elena and after a few minutes of Liliana resting, she started checking through the profile information for the hundredth time. Her sharp hazel eyes gazing over at every information, frowning every now and then, ever so slightly, a few times, when there was a suspicious or uncertain information, double-checking it.
Liliana wanted to just run away, hide from everything, escape from everything. She wanted to live happily and alone, away from this troublesome and overwhelming world, just like a fairytale, but fairytales doesn't exist in reality.
Liliana checked every profile informations of the employees and found nothing too apprehensive or out of the box information.
She ordered Elena to come to her office.
Elena walked into the office room with poised and balanced steps, "You called, Miss Russo?" Elena asked, her voice placid and serene.
"Yes, please do a background check on each and every employee and bring me back the results," Liliana ordered, her voice unruffled and placid but there was a hint of frustration in it.
Elena nodded, "Okay, Miss Russo," with a small bow of her head, Elena walked out of the office, letting Liliana drown in her thoughts.
Liliana couldn't help but feel the urge to just run away and never come back. To just leave everything behind and start a new serene and tranquil life.
Liliana's thoughts drifted from one to another as she rested her head on her palm, lost in her overthinking.
She was so engrossed in thought that she didn't even hear the knock sound, the time that passed, and someone walking in inside, "-iss, Russo. Miss, Russo," Elena's calm voice broke her back into reality and shook her awake from her day dreaming.
Liliana stared at Elena with a dazed expression, "You ordered a background check and It's files," Elena reminded herself while seeming not to have paid attention to her zoning out.
"Oh yeah," Liliana remembered, her voice laced with awkwardness as Elena put the tower of files on her table, "thank you," Liliana said thankfully.
"No problem, Miss Russo," Elena responded curtly, composed, and walked out of the office without another glance or another word.
She then began to sift through the background check files, noting that nothing seemed amiss nor disturbing. Liliana laid the files back on her table in a neat, clean stack of papers
Liliana was lost in thought and so beset with her thoughts as she winced again upon hearing the notification coming from her phone.
She pulled out her phone and furrowed her brows with confusion at the message that appeared on her screen.

"Lost in thoughts again. I hope they're about me, Amore Mio."
