Ji Qingyan's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "The humiliation must be repaid, but you don't seem to care, do you?"
Though she felt slightly awkward performing the squats, she understood it was part of the process.
"If I had to gather more money, I'd need to work hard to buy a house in Zhonghai," Lin Yi replied with a hint of sarcasm.
Ji Qingyan found his remark amusing. "The Pagani is now parked outside, and you can't afford a house?"
She handed over the money for the taxi fare and got out of the car with Lin Yi.
Lin Yi sighed inwardly, feeling like an unlucky ghost with only 60 million to his name.
They entered a modest villa—about 400 square meters in size—decorated in a modern and simple style, with a faint scent of jasmine in the air.
"What would you like to drink? Coffee or tea?" Ji Qingyan asked.
"Just tea, it's more refreshing," Lin Yi replied casually.
Ji Qingyan quickly prepared a pot of tea and handed it to Lin Yi. The room was quiet, with a slight air of awkwardness.
"Ready to start?" Ji Qingyan asked, her voice tinged with embarrassment.
"I should be heading out soon, so let's try to wrap this up quickly," Lin Yi said. He had a farewell dinner with a colleague scheduled after this meeting and couldn't afford to be late.
"Just so you know, I'm not used to this kind of thing. If the results aren't satisfactory, don't blame me," Ji Qingyan warned.
"Don't worry, it's fine," Lin Yi said with a reassuring smile.
Ji Qingyan settled into a chair by the coffee table and began her first S-squat with a touch of stiffness, recalling the moves from the video.
With her hips elevated, slim waist, and long legs, despite not executing the moves perfectly, Lin Yi thought Ji Qingyan's S-squats were less impressive compared to the female instructor in the video.
Especially with her tight black silk dress—sans high heels—she looked even more captivating.
As Lin Yi sipped his tea and watched Ji Qingyan, he marveled at the peculiar twists of life.
Suddenly, a voice from outside the door interrupted their moment.
"What are you two doing?"
Both were startled to see a middle-aged man in a black polo shirt standing in the doorway, looking at them with surprise.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Ji Qingyan asked, her voice laced with worry.
"Am I not supposed to be here?" Ji Antai replied, sounding confused.
Lin Yi felt a pang of despair. This was certainly not the right time for an unexpected visit.
"Dad, don't misunderstand. This is a new yoga instructor I hired to teach some new moves," Ji Qingyan explained quickly.
"A yoga instructor who drinks tea and does squats?" Ji Antai asked skeptically.
Lin Yi was perplexed. This was hardly an ideal situation.
"He's a skilled yoga instructor who usually provides verbal guidance, not direct demonstrations," Ji Qingyan tried to clarify nervously.
"Don't fool me. Do you think I don't watch live streams?" Ji Antai said, eyeing Ji Qingyan with suspicion.
Lin Yi was increasingly confused. Did her father actually watch live streams?
"Dad, please listen…" Ji Qingyan began, trying to explain further.
"Don't say anything more. Step aside, I need to talk to Lin Yi," Ji Antai said, gesturing toward Lin Yi.
"Mr. Ji, is there something you'd like to discuss?" Lin Yi asked politely.
Ji Antai's expression softened as he addressed Lin Yi. "Young man, what's your name?"
"Lin Yi," Lin Yi replied.
"What do you do?" Ji Antai asked, curiosity piqued.
"I work for Didi," Lin Yi answered honestly.
"Didi? What do you mean?" Ji Antai looked surprised.
"Yes, I'm a Didi driver," Lin Yi said with a resigned tone.
"What? A Didi driver pursuing my daughter?" Ji Antai asked skeptically. "Unless you drive a sports car."
"The sports car outside is mine," Lin Yi said firmly.
"So you really drive a sports car while being a Didi driver?" Ji Antai looked astonished.
"Yes," Lin Yi confirmed. "Even though my car is nice, I am indeed a Didi driver."
"Good," Ji Antai said with a smile. "Using a sports car to run errands—I don't want to be ordinary. A wealthy man is far better than an ordinary one. I can entrust my daughter to you."
Lin Yi was left speechless.
Why was he being put in this position as a potential son-in-law?
Ji Qingyan felt her face redden further and sank back into her chair.
"Xiao Yi, my father's 80th birthday is coming up in a few days. Since you two are together, it's only natural you should come along and show yourselves to the family," Ji Antai said.
"No, that's not appropriate," Lin Yi protested. "We don't have a special relationship."
"It doesn't matter. Since you're together, you naturally qualify to attend the event," Ji Antai said. "Alright, I won't discuss this further. You two continue with your activities. Don't let my presence affect your interests."
With that, Ji Antai left, leaving Ji Qingyan feeling embarrassed.
"Lin Yi, don't pay attention to my father's nonsense," Ji Qingyan said awkwardly.
Lin Yi nodded and checked his phone for the time. "Mr. Ji, I have other matters to attend to, so I need to leave."
"Leave? We still have eight more," Ji Qingyan said anxiously.
Lin Yi could only smile and said, "Alright, let's finish the rest first."
After those words, Ji Qingyan realized there was more to do.
Once Lin Yi departed, Ji Qingyan dialed her secretary. "Secretary Guo, there's someone named Lin Yi from the sales department. Please send me his information."
After explaining, Ji Qingyan ended the call, intent on looking into Lin Yi's background further.
Meanwhile, Lin Yi continued his journey to Yipinju. Though a few minutes late due to the unexpected events, he didn't consider it a major issue.
When Lin Yi arrived at the meeting room, everyone from the sales department was already present. With a touch of embarrassment, he said, "Sorry for being late. There was a traffic jam."
"No problem. We just arrived ourselves," Wang Ying replied with a warm smile.
Wang Ying, who had been looking after Lin Yi for some time, was dressed in a charming green floral dress.
"Come on, Xiao Yi, sit here. I've saved a good seat for you," Wang Ying said, removing a jacket from the empty chair beside her and gesturing for Lin Yi to sit next to her.
