~Snow's POV~
My body went rigid as his words sank in. I tried to summon my anger, my defiance, but with the memory of today's events—my impulsive slap and his cutting remarks—still fresh in my mind, all I could feel was a strange mix of fear and... something else. Something darker. A pull that I couldn't quite define.
"You're seriously going to enforce a clause from the contract?" I asked, my voice trembling despite myself. "This is ridiculous."
Snow's smirk never faltered. "Oh, I'm very serious, Zara. And you'll soon see just how serious I can be."
He pushed off the doorframe and took a step closer, closing the distance between us.
