Chapter 7 - 07- Ambulance Arrival: Target Death

It seemed like everyone's reaction was delayed for a few seconds.

Then, like a stone causing ripples, panic spread rapidly!

Suddenly, there was a commotion. Even the store employees were stunned by the car accident in the distance.

"Oh my God!"

"This... this is horrible!"

"Should we call the police?"

One-third of the residents in the area turned on their lights and rushed to their windows and balconies to look outside.

The scene of the accident was horrific.

"What—"

After a scream, the entire building was awakened, and everyone rushed outside, still groggy from sleep.

Others quickly went downstairs to help.

"Hurry, hurry, call the police!"

A large crowd gathered at the scene of the accident, primarily to rescue the driver of the dump truck.

The driver wasn't seriously injured. To be precise, he only suffered minor injuries. After all, the seatbelt and airbags had protected his vital parts.

Many people pulled out their phones to capture photos of the terrifying car crash.

Several people covered their mouths, speaking in hushed tones out of fear: "This is terrible."

"Yeah, that little car is completely crushed!"

"I bet the people inside didn't survive."

Arthur was also in the crowd, blending into the atmosphere: "Yeah, it's terrifying. I wonder if it was drunk driving."

About fifteen minutes later...

Beep, beep—

The traffic police and ambulances arrived at the scene. The crowd, acting together, began working to rescue the driver trapped in the crushed car.

Arthur naturally joined in, speaking with determination: "Alright, on my count: one, two, three!"

"Let's work together!"

"Lift the car and save them!"

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three!"

Remarkably, the strength of the crowd was powerful, and more than a dozen people managed to lift the crushed car together.

Sadly, as the doctor hurried over to check for signs of life, he shook his head.

"No!"

"Dead on the spot!"

"No breathing, no pulse!"

"And the injuries are severe—broken legs and most likely a fractured sternum."

"Preliminary diagnosis suggests that the ribs were crushed, causing internal injuries. The victim likely died from the internal organ damage caused by the compression."

At 3:30 AM.

Arthur stood in his room, feeling indescribably conflicted.

Still hunting.

Although he hadn't acted directly, he knew he was responsible.

Of course, he didn't feel there was anything wrong with what he had done. That guy had harmed so many people and deserved to be punished!

And even if, hypothetically, he hadn't been involved, someone else could have taken the death bounty. In the end, the target would still have died.

As his emotions settled, they were replaced by the satisfaction of having successfully devised an "accidental" plan and seeing it through to completion.

There was an undeniable excitement in his eyes as he took a deep breath.

"Success!"

"Now, what's next?"

He pulled out his laptop, logged into the mysterious "Dark Net Organization" forum, and entered his account and password.

He muttered with a smirk, "So, how do I claim this death bounty?!"

"Three hundred thousand!"

"Not bad at all! It'll certainly cover my expenses!"

His fingers tapped lightly on the desk as he carefully read through the platform's trading rules.

The method used by the "Dark Net" was third-party escrow. Those who posted bounties would only create a random code name and prepay the reward amount.

Once the payment was made, the "Dark Net" platform would release the relevant assassination task based on the client's request.

Once the mission was completed, the assassin had to log into their account immediately, post a photo of the target's death, and wait for the "Dark Net" to verify the photo's authenticity.

After confirming the target's death through their intelligence network, the platform would deduct a 15% service fee. The remaining bounty would be transferred to the assassin's "Dark Net" wallet!

Assassins could then choose from various channels to withdraw the bounty from their wallet:

[Channel 1: Through express delivery! Just provide recipient information, and the staff will discreetly send out the bounty.]

{Note: If you choose this channel, the platform is not responsible for any losses during shipment!}

[Channel 2: Provide a bank account and the name of the account holder for a direct transfer.]

{Note: The Dark Net will never reveal the assassin's identity, as it relies on trust and security to maintain its support!}
