The night had fallen thick and heavy around the pack house. The air hummed with an unnatural stillness, a calm before the inevitable storm. I stood at the edge of the forest, the shadows dancing around me, blending into the darkness that was slowly becoming a part of me.
Jaden was coming. He'd likely arrive by morning, and with him, the memories I had spent days trying to bury in Leslie life would resurface. Every step he took toward my territory fueled the rage boiling in my veins. I could feel the darkness pulsing beneath my skin, whispering promises of power, control, and vengeance. And for once, I welcomed it.
