Blue Knight's POV:
-ufff, this place has denser vegetation than I expected.
After setting up camp, I take charge of the guard at the northern point with Diego. The road here has been unexpectedly difficult. Forget the vegetation, the wild beasts in the area were especially active. We almost lost some of us along the way. If it weren't for our hero, we would have lost more than half of our men.
- Are you okay?
- Yes, thank you, David.
A knight with a magenta helmet gives me a canteen while looking at me with concern.
- Don't worry about me, I'm just tired, that's all.
- Don't overexert yourself, my friend, it's crucial to rest well before the fight.
- Yes, yes, you don't need to-
Suddenly a heartbreaking scream is heard in the distance. It doesn't seem to come from any of our companions, but it's not something we can ignore. After looking into each other's eyes, David nods and we advance together towards the source of the sound. There we see a huge boar chasing a child. A clear expression of desperation paints the child's face as he runs away with all his might from the animal. Before confirming it with David, I throw myself to face the beast that charges blindly towards the child.
- Ahhhh
With a powerful horizontal cut, I cut through the boar's head before it could notice me. A screech comes out of the animal and seconds later, it falls dead on the ground. The child, realizing the situation, turns to look at me and immediately his eyes light up with happiness.
- Wow, how did you do that sir?
- This? It's not a big deal, it's just a small show of strength.
The excited child waved his hands as he looked at me in admiration. I can't help but scratch my head at this sudden development of the situation.
- Are you okay?
- Yes, it wasn't a big deal, I was just helping this child.
David turned to look at the child but he didn't seem very happy about it. He carefully approaches my side and whispers in my ear.
- Have you forgotten the mission? We are in the terri-
Before he could finish his sentence, his head flies off his shoulders. Something resembling a knife is stuck in the tree behind David. The situation happens so fast that I have a hard time understanding what was happening. I turn to see the boy trying to find an answer. A huge sigh sounds in the air.
- How can it be so horrible? Doubting a poor child that he just saved out of nowhere… it really depresses me a little.
The boy's expression completely deformed into a wide, hollow smile. The boy takes a watch out of his pocket and fiddles with it for a while.
- Don't you think the same, Mr. Blue Knight?
Before I fully understand the situation, my legs carry me out of the place as fast as they can carry me.
