Chereads / The Uchiha Who Survives in the Shadows / Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Mission.

Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Mission.

"I'm back!"

Uchiha Toshiro, drained of every last ounce of his strength, entered the house without rushing to change his shoes. Instead, he feebly called out this ceremonious greeting before collapsing onto the step meant for changing shoes in the entryway.

He lay flat on the floor, body sprawled, his arms spread wide.

He needed a moment for his utterly exhausted body to rest.

After what seemed like an eternity, he finally caught his breath. His nerves, numbed from the intense physical training, slowly began to relax, and he began to recall:

"Who am I? Where did I come from? What am I here to do?"

It wasn't that Uchiha Toshiro lacked ambition.

But the special training over the past two weeks had pushed his physical and mental limits to the breaking point.

After each session, he felt on the verge of collapse, both physically and mentally.

As an elite Jōnin, Uchiha Jūsei masterfully controlled the training intensity every day, keeping Toshiro's spirit and body teetering on the brink of collapse, forcing him to rebound continually.

This method honed Toshiro's mental fortitude, combat skills, physical stamina, and so on across various aspects.

When the special training first began, the intensity was relatively mild. It wasn't relaxed, but it wasn't as painful as it was now.

As Teacher Jūsei gained a deeper understanding of Toshiro's abilities in all respects, he marveled at Toshiro's talents and, consequently, began raising the standards for Toshiro's training. He aimed to cultivate an outstanding shinobi for the clan.

Watching this excellent clan member grow with every facet of training he arranged, Jūsei's natural inclination to teach gradually found fulfillment.

After all, feeling the growth of a genius shinobi under his own tutelage was a satisfaction he had never experienced before.

But this meant hardship for Uchiha Toshiro!

As his hidden strengths were gradually uncovered by his teacher, the special training also progressively intensified.

The types of training varied greatly, providing Toshiro with fresh experiences daily.

Every time he finished the special training and returned home, Toshiro would end up in his current, utterly drained state. He wouldn't even want to lift a pinkie.

He was too exhausted, both in body and spirit.

But everything has two sides. After going through these hellish two weeks, thanks to Teacher Jūsei's special training and the tri-daily combat sessions, Toshiro's combat skills and overall strength improved significantly. Compared to his former self-training behind closed doors, there was simply no comparison.

Now, if Toshiro encountered an average Chūnin, while he might be unable to kill them in a one-on-one fight, he could engage in combat and hold his own without much pressure.

(Once again, I've embarrassed fellow transmigrators! ^_^|||)

Compared to other transmigrators who possessed the strength to kill Jōnin at age eight, Toshiro, after four years of training, barely achieved Chūnin level, which was undeniably inferior.

However, considering he was originally a city office worker who had spent these years reading numerous books and designing some semi-effective training regimes, the results were evident, building a robust foundation.

Nonetheless, in terms of techniques and specificity, he was significantly outmatched. He couldn't compare to these traditionally trained shinobi molded by countless brutal slaughters and extensive historical practices.

Toshiro, being a novice, didn't know that the special training targeting him was just beginning. There was plenty of hardship ahead.

Through Teacher Jūsei's training, his strength, speed, reflexes, and chakra had transformed into substantial combat power.

He gained a comprehensive understanding of the elements a shinobi faces during battles, including stealth and surprise attacks, thus improving his ability to launch attacks and fend off ambushes.

However, he hadn't yet killed or seen blood, and his shinobi experience was severely lacking.

Even so, his achievements were impeccable among children of his age.

Kicking off his ninja sandals, Toshiro painstakingly rose from the floor. Barefoot, he slowly walked inside.

Due to the recent ultra-high-intensity training, the number of clones he left at home decreased from three to just one.

The activities his clones performed shifted from Yin Release, Yang Release, and genjutsu to house chores and reading to minimize energy and mental fatigue.

He had no choice; he wasn't made of iron. He couldn't maintain three shadow clones' exercises while handling Teacher Jūsei's special training simultaneously.

The single remaining clone was merely to ensure he wouldn't have to cook meals or heat water after returning from daily training.

Entering the bathroom, he soaked in a hot bath prepared earlier by his clone for over an hour.

The exhaustion of a day's training dissipated significantly, making him feel almost reborn.

He couldn't help but marvel at how the bodies in this world were truly monstrous. After such grueling daytime training, they could recover in such a short time.

He wasn't sure whether it was due to chakra or his youthful body's swift recovery.

Putting these trivial thoughts aside, after dinner, Toshiro, dressed in loose clothing, stepped into the family's arsenal to begin preparing his equipment for tomorrow's mission.

Shuriken, kunai, steel wire, explosive tags, a tanto, provisions, military ration pills, along with extra clothes and medical supplies.

Indeed, after two weeks of special training, Uchiha Jūsei fulfilled his previous promise and took on a C-rank mission to eliminate bandits from the Hokage Building.

This would be Toshiro, Homura, and Satoru's first time performing a C-rank mission and their first time leaving the village to face the killings and darkness inherent to the shinobi world.

Toshiro took this mission very seriously. Whether it was the weaponry or the necessary provisions and medical supplies, he meticulously checked everything multiple times.

In case of emergencies, he even prepared a bill worth ten thousand ryo just in case.

He had no choice, leaving Konoha's cocoon for the first time to face the shinobi world's darkness and killings, and facing his first kill personally, he had to treat it with extreme caution.
