Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Uchiha

Another early morning, Uchiha Toshiro returned to his small courtyard, covered in sweat after his morning training.

"I'm back," he said as he stepped into the entrance. He changed his shoes and entered the house, noticing that breakfast was almost ready.

"Go wash up first, breakfast is nearly done," came a busy voice from the kitchen.

A short while later, Uchiha Toshiro, feeling refreshed, sat at the dining table and began enjoying a sumptuous breakfast. Ever since he started preparing to become a ninja, Uchiha Mika's meals had become exceptionally meticulous—milk, bread, beef, lamb, fish, and a balanced variety of fruits and vegetables. Feeling this silent care, Uchiha Toshiro felt a warm sensation; his anxiety about being in a foreign place lessened considerably.

"The clan's pre-training has ended, and Toshiro has successfully extracted chakra. Starting today, your sister will be on regular duty at the police force," Uchiha Mika said, looking at the little boy devouring his food across the table. Thinking that Uchiha Toshiro didn't speak much and seldom interacted with children his age, she assumed he was still immersed in the sorrow of losing his mother and didn't care about table manners. She just wanted to engage with him more.

Unconsciously, two months had already passed since he came to this world. From initial confusion and anxiety to the current tranquility, Uchiha Toshiro had completed his transformation from an ordinary Earthling to a native of the Naruto world.

Moreover, the month-long pre-training ended just yesterday. Chakrṭ extraction was successfully completed on the second day of training. This achievement wasn't the best compared to those geniuses who managed it within a day or even a few hours after encountering the extraction method, but it was above average in the Uchiha clan, better than those who barely succeeded by the end of the training.

Among the twenty-plus children who participated in the training with him, one extracted chakra successfully on the first night. Another five or six succeeded within a week. The remaining children had progressively lower success rates as time went on. Ultimately, 13 out of 20 successfully extracted chakra—seven boys and six girls. The rest were eliminated. Out of these 13, it was uncertain how many would become genin and adapt to the harsh ninja life.

They were also taught basic taijutsu, fundamental swordsmanship, shuriken throwing, hand signs, and each received a fire-release scroll. Taijutsu, swordsmanship, and fire-release techniques were tailored to the Uchiha's characteristics. As bearers of the "Sharingan" bloodline limit, even ordinary Uchiha had better "eye power" than average ninjas.

The Uchiha family's shuriken throwing techniques and refined swordsmanship were also their ace in the hole. Coupled with powerful fire-release jutsu and the keen insight granted by the awakened Sharingan, which allowed casting genjutsu without hand signs, these factors led to the emergence of "perfect" ninjas proficient in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu, which was the source of the Uchiha's strength.

For Uchiha children, fire-release techniques and other five-element jutsu or genjutsu weren't rare. Their families or relatives often had various collections. Becoming a ninja had been a Uchiha tradition for a thousand years, leaving behind many jutsu, genjutsu, and training experiences. The clan strictly controlled the secret techniques or forbidden jutsu and the Sharingan's secrets, alongside the exclusive Sharingan genjutsu.

"I still don't know, Mika-neesan, what kind of work do you do in the Uchiha police force? Is it administrative, patrolling, or fighting criminals?"

"I'm part of the Uchiha Police Force's third squad, mainly responsible for medical support," Uchiha Mika explained, seeing Toshiro's interest in her job.

It turned out that the Uchiha Police Force, which had little screen time in the original work, was divided into three main squads. The first squad handled the capture of criminals and the tough tasks assigned by the Hokage. The second squad undertook daily patrols and vigilance, also dealing with spies. Mika belonged to the third squad, responsible for Konoha's prison, medical logistics, and non-combat tasks.

The first squad mainly handled combat tasks before the village's formation and after the police force's establishment. The second squad managed family defense, mines, fields, surveillance, and intelligence gathering. The third squad took care of barriers, seals, sensory tasks, medical support, secret medicine, and crafting ninja tools, all forming the entire Uchiha clan.

The clan leader, typically the strongest within the Uchiha, was decided through strength rather than a hereditary or mentorship system, resulting in internal conflicts throughout history.

The roles of different family branches, though somewhat altered after Konoha's formation, largely maintained their traditions. For instance, Uchiha Mika's family was mainly responsible for medical support and secret medicine crafting. Toshiro's father, before his sacrifice, was a key figure in the third squad, hence the numerous jutsu, genjutsu, seal, and barrier scrolls left in their home.

"It seems that unjustified preconceptions are useless! I used to think the Uchiha had no medical ninjas, which now seems laughable," Uchiha Toshiro thought. The Uchihas had fought the Senju for nearly a thousand years, leading to significant developments in all ninja abilities, including medical ninjutsu, as seen with Madara Uchiha's successful eye transplant and Obito Uchiha's fire barrier. Hence, the Uchiha must have had achievements in barriers and seals.

A ninja clan, especially a strong one like the Uchiha, provided apparent advantages to every member, helping them significantly on their path to power, unlike civilian ninjas who risked dangerous tasks for jutsu. This benefit could be seen as Uchiha Toshiro's biggest aid...
