Chapter 11 - First day of school

After a few minutes of walking behind Linx, we finally arrived at the study hall.

The hall was massive, decorated with marble columns and stained glass windows that reflected various scenes from the kingdom's history. I felt the place itself exude grandeur and grandeur.

When we entered the classroom, the lesson had just started. The teacher looked at us sharply, and when he saw that Linx was with me, he looked surprised. But before he could express his displeasure, Linx quickly took the initiative and said, "Sir Vince, this student is Rami, and the vice principal has newly accepted him."

The teacher raised his eyebrows upon hearing this, as it was unusual for students to register after the start of the school year. He looked at me carefully and immediately thought that the person in front of him might be from a high-ranking noble family or someone very talented. So, he calmed down his anger and asked me to introduce myself amidst the stares of the other students.

"Please, tell us about yourself," the teacher said in a tone less harsh than before.

I walked to the front of the class with calm, confident steps, feeling the eyes following me with anticipation. With a simple smile and a soothing tone, I said, "I am Rami, and I am happy to be among a group of noble people who are an example of excellence and distinction. I will undoubtedly benefit greatly from being among you, and I look forward to learning together and rising in status."

My words carried praise and recognition of their status, which made the atmosphere friendly and allowed me to win their admiration without appearing arrogant. With this elegant move and words, I hoped that no one would doubt my identity.

After the teacher finished introducing me, he turned to Linux and said, "Thank you, Linux. You can go back now."

Linx nodded and left, leaving me alone in the classroom amidst the stares of my new classmates. The teacher began to resume the lesson, saying, "Before we start explaining about the composite elements, let's see a practical example. Kane, come to the podium."

A student named Kane confidently walked onto the stage, drawing admiring glances from the girls in the class. Kane had golden hair and blue eyes, which added to his majesty.

Rami looked at this person curiously, not knowing who he was. The student sitting next to him noticed this and explained, "This is the first prince of the kingdom, Kane".

The king has a son and a daughter, and Kane is the eldest son. People know him to be very talented in the plant element, but they say he is reckless and has a hatred for the common people. His sister, Princess Iris, who is younger than him, is also rumored to possess the ice element and is superior to him in skill.

Hearing this, I looked curiously to see the talent of the so-called prince of my kingdom.

Kane raised his hand, and a seed fell from between his fingers, mushrooming into a tree about three meters tall. Everyone in the class applauded at the sight of this, and I applauded too so as not to appear unnecessarily special.

The teacher began to resume his explanation, saying, "As everyone knows, the basic elements are fire, water, earth, wind, light, and darkness. But there are other elements such as plants and ice. Why is that?"

One student raised his hand and said, "Sir, these elements are called composite elements because they result from the combination of two or more elements."

With a smile, the teacher said, "Well done, because these elements are formed by the union of more than one basic element." For example, the union of water and wind produces ice, the union of fire and water produces steam, water and earth produces wood, and so on."

Then the teacher continued: "But does anyone know how to compare the composite elements to the basic elements?"

The explanation continued, as the teacher explained how compound elements can be more complex and powerful than basic elements. I sat there, listening intently to the information the teacher was giving, and it was clear that this knowledge would benefit me in the future.

When the lesson was over, I was busy organizing the information in my head, since I had nothing to take notes on. When another student approached me. He seemed interested and gave me a friendly impression. He came up to me and asked, "Hello, I'm Christophe, son of Duke Aileen. I've never seen you at a party in the kingdom before. What family are you from?"

I looked up and smiled, saying, "I'm Rami Nabil, from abroad."

That answer was enough to make Christophe raise his eyebrows in curiosity, but he didn't press for further details. Instead, he said, "If you need help to figure out the School system or anything else, I'm here to help."

I showed gratitude and said, "I would be grateful to you, any help would be welcome."

Christophe led me on a tour around the School.pointing out the different classrooms, the library, and the laboratories, and explaining how classes and other activities were organized. After that, he stopped at the School information desk and took out a small card. "This is the ID card for every student here," he said. "It contains merit points that are used as currency for payment at the School."

I looked at the card curiously, and Christophe listed the details. "Every student receives a balance of merit points at the beginning of each semester. You can use these points to purchase or rent books in the library, or to buy food and drinks in the cafeteria. It is important to know that regular money is not used here. Merit points are the only recognized currency."

I listened intently as he continued to explain, "If you need anything from the library or cafeteria, be sure to use the merit points through the card. There is also a system to reward you with additional merit points based on your academic performance and participation in activities."

I felt much more relaxed after this tour, as the information gave me a tremendous boost of confidence. "Thank you very much, Christoph. The tour was very helpful."

Christophe smiled and said, "You're welcome, Rami. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask."

After the tour was over, I went back to my desk and started organizing my study schedule. I felt like I was starting to integrate into the new environment and had a simple plan for what I was going to do in the coming days.
