Chapter 20 - [18] Fated battle (1/3)

Shin utilized his tail beast chakra mode to further enhance his speed to cut the distance between Isshin and him to stop the teleportation technique Isshin was about to use to save the village.

Isshin has faith in Madara and Hashirama's synergy to work together and overpower the tail beast. Moreover they both together would never be able to defeat Shin which was fact from his personal experience.

[Flash cannon]

"Too late." Isshin muttered with a cold smile as he instantly transported them before Shin could even cover half a distance and when Shin reached near the kunai Isshin activated a seal in one of them which completely blinded Shin.

Still Shin rushed at Isshin because of his ability to sense Isshin though Kurama overwhelming chakra around him. "Die!!" Shin yelled with a smug grin as he was about to deliver a strong punch at Isshin's jaw.

Isshin caught Shin's fist, the impact resonating through his body like a shockwave. His grip held firm, fortified by Kurama's strength, and he used the momentum to twist Shin's arm, throwing him off balance.

In that split second, Isshin formed a hand sign, breathing an ocean of fire [Fire style: Great Fireball Technique] burst that erupted point-blank against Shin's chest. The explosion sent Shin careening backward, smashing through boulders and skidding across the ground, though his Tailed Beast chakra protected him from serious harm.

Undeterred, Shin quickly recovered, his eyes burning with fury as his chakra swelled, forming additional tails that flickered with volatile energy. He laughed darkly, relishing the thrill of battle as he faced Isshin's steely, composed gaze.

"You really think Madara and Hashirama can hold their own against all the 8 tail beasts alone?" Shin sneered, unleashing a barrage of chakra-laden bombs from his mouth. But Isshin's expression didn't waver; instead, he sidestepped each blow with uncanny precision, each dodge as fluid as water, while his own chakra flared in response.

"Madara and Hashirama know where they stand," Isshin replied, his voice like ice. "But so do I — Kurama's power with my own is more than enough."

With a swift hand movement, Isshin activated yet another kunai mark, appearing in a blur behind Shin and delivering a concentrated blast of chakra into his back. The force exploded on impact, throwing Shin forward and forcing him to stagger to his knees. Isshin's voice cut through the haze, calm and resolute.

Madara and Hashirama stood resolute atop the Hokage building, the full scope of the threat reflected in their intense gazes.

"This is bad," Madara observed, his voice uncharacteristically grim. Both shinobi could see the incoming Tailed Beast, gathering its chakra for a cataclysmic attack. The energy of the bomb crackled with a lethal promise, threatening to obliterate the village entirely.

Hashirama's eyes narrowed as he focused his chakra, tapping into both his Sage Mode and the added power of Kurama's chakra, a gift granted by Isshin in preparation for this very moment. His form glowed with vibrant energy, a mix of natural power and Kurama's potent chakra swirling around him like an aura of raw, unstoppable force.

"I'll be taking the lead," Hashirama declared, his voice calm yet determined. He brought his hands together in a swift series of seals, channeling his immense chakra into the ground below. With a focused breath, he summoned forth defensive gate's with unparalleled power.

"[Summoning: Quintuple Rashōmon!]"

With a massive rumble, five colossal gates erupted from the earth, each gate towering and reinforced with thick barriers and menacing demon-faced carvings. The Rashōmon gates aligned themselves in front of the village, a fortress of nearly impenetrable defense, each gate braced to absorb the full impact of the Tailed Beast Bomb.

As the gates settled into place, Madara shifted, his Sharingan spinning with deadly focus. "You think those gates will hold, Hashirama?" he asked, a smirk breaking through his otherwise stoic demeanor. The flames of battle reflected in his gaze, already strategizing their next move.

"They'll hold long enough," Hashirama replied, though his attention remained fixed on the Tailed Beast. The bomb reached critical mass, a sphere of condensed energy and destruction radiating in front of the beast as it prepared to unleash it.

"Then we don't waste a second," Madara responded, activating his Susanoo, the colossal spectral armor forming around him, its blade shimmering with his potent chakra. As the Tailed Beast released the bomb, the ground seemed to recoil from the sheer force of the attack as it surged toward the village. Hashirama's Rashōmon gates absorbed the initial impact, each gate shuddering and cracking as they absorbed layer upon layer of the blast's energy. The first gate fractured almost immediately, shattering into pieces that fell like meteors across the battlefield.

"Not yet!" Hashirama shouted, reinforcing the remaining gates with additional Sage chakra, each gate holding against the blast for precious moments before another shattered under the immense pressure.

Madara took his cue, dashing forward with Susanoo's blade raised. His Sharingan gleamed as he calculated the exact trajectory, positioning himself to intercept the remainder of the blast energy.

In unison, the two legends pushed back against the Tailed Beast Bomb, combining their strength as Hashirama's gates and Madara's Susanoo blade carved through the explosive force. With a final surge, they redirected the remaining energy skyward, where it detonated harmlessly in a bright flash that lit up the horizon.

Hashirama glanced at Madara, a determined smile on his face. "Shall we?" he asked, already preparing to leap into the next phase of battle.

Madara's smirk returned, his eyes alight with fierce enthusiasm. "After you."

Together, they launched forward, charging to face the Tailed Beast head-on, the power of two legends united in the defense of the village.
