Chapter 25 - 25. According to the Plan (1)

Drax listened to Borun and Akan explain what the plan was supposed to be and even though he was not comfortable with it, the young Elf Prince had to play along with it.

Borun's plan was quite logical for espionage and to avoid any undue questions or eyes tracking him.

Sceptical about it still, Drax sighed and put forward his two hands as they met wrist to wrist.

"Fine. Let's do it then."

"Are you sure you are fine with it?" Borun asked for confirmation, having noticed the hesitation on Drax's face.

Drax bobbed his head. "Yes. Let's do it."

Borun looked at Akan and signalled him with a nod.

Having gained Drax's approval, it was time to do things according to the plan, the first of which involved helping Drax to infiltrate the territory of the lizardmen.

Only through this could he get closer to his target, the Saurian King.

It took a few minutes but they were soon done with the setting up for their plan.

After this, the trio headed deeper into the Saurian Cave with Drax bound and held arm to arm by the two lizardmen on both sides.

According to Borun's plan, to successfully infiltrate, Drax had to be presented as a prisoner.

Given that he was a stranger in these parts, it was expected of Borun and Akan to kill him or capture him for his fate to be decided by the Saurian King.

This was Drax's one-way ticket to meeting the Saurian King, and so, he obliged after a quick consideration.

They walked for a while before coming upon what looked like a guard station.

A group of lizardmen appeared after noticing the trio approaching.

"Borun…" one called out on recognising Borun.

Borun nodded in acknowledgement. "Chaka…"

The one called Chaka also nodded, as they greeted each other.

Seeing Drax and the bind that held his hands together, Chaka understood and said nothing about it, neither did he question their entry.

Drax also said nothing like Borun and Akan had instructed.

Despite not being spoken to, Drax noticed something about how Chaka and Borun spoke to each other.

'Seems like they are speaking with expressions,' he thought.

Drax observed them more closely but he could only assume that Chaka was in with the group that wanted the Saurian King out.

Other than that, it was safe to assume that not all the lizardmen present bought into this idea.

Thus, the reason why Borun had to resort to using another means of communication.

When the little chatter between lizardmen ended, Borun and Akan took their prisoner away with them, continuing as they had planned.

After the station post, the trio came upon a giant door.

Akan pushed the door open, creating the way for them to enter.

From outside, Drax can already see a few features that suggest that this was a grandiose room.

'A throne room...?' he thought.

Having seen one himself, Drax could make that guess.

It was indeed a throne room.

The door closed behind them as they entered and Drax looked forward to see a figure seated in a tall throne at a distance in front of him.

'That must be him.'

It was the Saurian King.

A tall lizardman with a bulky physique and muscles that made a clear statement of physical strength.

The Saurian King sat comfortably with his cheek resting on his folded hand as he peered forward in the direction of the three who had just entered.

Drax looked around as Borun and Akan dragged more and more into the room.

He didn't complain or resist as he believed that this was also part of the plan.

Perhaps they were hoping to bring him as close as possible to the Saurian King so he could strike.

If it was as he calculated, then Drax knew that there was no room for failure.

He was not allowed to miss because if he did, it was practically over for the three of them.

Drax inhaled deeply to calm his nerves.

This was a mission, much akin to the ones in the games he used to play back on Earth.

The only difference was that this time around, he was the one carrying them out and not a game character.

They walked into the throne room where the Saurian King was, with other lizardmen inside as well.

As Drax was looking around, he felt a nudge from behind that pushed him a few steps forward.

Using it as an advantage, the Elf Prince shortened the distance between him and the Saurian King a bit more.

"Is he the one?" the Saurian King asked, his voice loud and authoritative.

Borun and Akan bowed their heads.

Drax curiously looked at the king and then the two lizardmen who had brought him here.

His brows furrowed. 'The one…?'

"Yes, Your Highness," Borun answered the Saurian King.

"Hmm," the Saurian King sat up straight, staring daggers at the Elf Prince who had just been brought to him.

"So, elf… you are here to take care of me, aren't you?"

Drax's eyes grew a little wider but he did a good job of keeping most of his calm.

From the first statement, the Saurian King made, Drax was already on to something.

However, he needed to confirm it.

Now, hearing his plan from the very person he wanted to kill confirmed this for him.

…Everything he had planned with Borun and Akan was a trap.

Drax gave the two of them a sidelong glance, noticing how they were currently stepping away from him, affording him a space.

Drax slightly huffed. 'I played into their hands, huh.'

He looked around a bit more, wondering at what point he missed the passage of information between the lizardmen.

Drax has been critically observing them since he met them.

'Did they use some kind of communication signals or magic?' he wondered, unable to understand how the Saurian King was able to get the information already.

He decided to figure that out after addressing the king before him.

Drax smiled at the Saurian King.

"Well, if you put it like that… it comes off as a beautiful experience. I'm sure what I want to do is much worse unless they didn't give you the details. Oops…"

The Saurian King squinted his eyes as his gaze went past Drax to reach Borun and Akan.
