Chapter 33 - She left

Mingwa's heart pounded as she bolted from the car, her legs carrying her as fast as they could. She half-expected to hear Taewoo's car door slam open and his footsteps pounding behind her, but no such sound came. Instead, the car engine quietly roared to life, and when she glanced back, she saw him driving off, as if he hadn't just issued one of the most chilling threats she'd ever heard.

She didn't stop running until she reached a taxi parked at the curb. Breathless and frazzled, she climbed in, quickly giving the driver her address. As the taxi pulled away, Mingwa's mind raced. *I have to get away, before he decides to trap me for good.* Her phone buzzed in her hand, but she ignored it. It was likely Jihoon, wondering what had happened. Or worse, it could be Taewoo. She couldn't deal with either of them now.
