"Enough," Hawner interrupted with a sigh. "I don't want her damaged before I've had the chance to enjoy her spirit. Remove her restraints." he sighed his eyes softening even as Flonda's gaze hardened even more, wondering what the cause for the excitement she saw in his eyes was about. Hurra, though visibly displeased, bowed slightly in acknowledgment. He stepped back and signaled to one of the guards. With a nod, the guard moved forward, producing a key that he slid into the locks on the cuffs binding Flonda's wrists.
Flonda felt the cuffs fall from her wrists, her core slowly reigniting as energy surged through her veins. She kept her face expressionless, unwilling to reveal her newfound strength. The cold, condescending smile on Hawner's face only made her desire to crush him stronger, but she needed to be patient—bide her time.
