Chapter 31 - You Want To Touch Grass? Heehaw!

Bob calmed down after discussing with Freya, rubbing Demetrius's head as they all walked out of the room, leaving the giant's body behind to rot. Bob thought to scatter its body into a thousand pieces and make sure it never rises again, but, 'It'd be a waste of our time.'

He checked his map, and out of the vast space, they'd explored nothing more than a few blocks worth of space and this hinted that the prison was not a labyrinth in name only — it was huge. The lower areas were barely explored, but there were already cases of going around in circles.

"Freya, when do we get to meet more people? I am tired of staring at these goblins' faces." Bob groaned as he butchered the goblin's face until it fell off from the skull, and he let go of the creature, a cold frown on his face, "Uh… Why are you giggling?"

"What? I'm definitely not." Freya snapped her fingers, and recalled her daggers. She tried all she could to make her face straight, but looking at Bob as he frowned, her expression twisted. Bob stood as she turned to the side, bursting out and laughing like a donkey, "Hehahaha! Sorry… hehahehe…"

"Are you insulting me?" Bob felt a vein pop on his head, and he stepped forward, grabbing Freya by the shoulder and turning her around. When he saw her face, Bob staggered back horrified, "How are you twisting your face like this? Why are you rolling your tongue? Is it necessary?"

"Expecting t see more people in this prison? Hehe. Sorry boss, you'll be stuck with the beautiful goblins for another dozen floors." Freya cleared her throat, then sighed, "then again, once we get to those higher floors. The people will not be as welcoming as you'd expect."

"I guess living with demons twists your perception of the world." Bob clenched his fists, then he turned around and glanced at Aquarius who sat licking its paw after slapping a few goblins to death, then back to Freya, "But that laugh was not necessary for insulting me."

"I could not resist. There are demons who can take the shape of a human, so trust is hard." Freya explained that she was not good at socialising and found anyone trying it funny in a single sentence. She frowned seeing Bob's face, then folded her arms across her chest.

He looked down upon her with contempt, "I thought you mocked me for pure reasons, but I now know that you were trying to hide your lack of social skills. Do not fear though, even though I was an introvert in my past, I plan to change things a bit as a famous hero!"

"What's an introvert?" Freya asked, then blinked as Bob's gaze turned condescending. She stood with her brows furrowed, wondering what she had said wrong. The longer Freya remained silent, his condescension grew, then she frowned, "Sorry if I am not used to strange words, boss."

"An introvert is… someone who does not go out to make friends?" As Bob said it out loud, all the smugness in his aura died and he grew sad. Freya realised the meaning behind his words, and as Bob stood silently, her face turned dark, 'I guess I offended her too by mentioning it…'

"We should get going. If we meet up and befriend Leslie, then we'll no longer be introverts?" The frown on Freya's face turned into a smirk, "It's not like I don't want to go out and make friends, but it is difficult since my parents died and my siblings moved to higher floors."

"Anyway, Area 09 is just next door. I am sure she has a lot in store for us." Bob nodded his head as Freya unfolded her arms. Bob wanted to ask Freya what killed her parents, and who her siblings were, but he decided not to pry, "So are we ready?"

The grass rustled under her feet as Freya turned around and began walking. They busted down doors and slaughtered more goblins. After killing all of the goblins — five at level thirty and five at level thirty-five, with the bonus from Freya's ten Level 40 kills, he earned a total of 57500!

"You hope? She'd better." Freya watched as Darius and Jacquelyn jumped a goblin group, and in a few traded blows, they mauled the enemy to death. She turned from the system notifications, and focused her gaze ahead, "Then again, it could be a trap. We should be careful."

"I've been noticing it, but you've been worrying too much lately." Bob frowned as Freya stood silent, clearing her throat twice then completely ignoring him as she walked forward. Bob shifted from Freya to Aquarius, "You and Demetrius cover our rear. We'll charge in!"

Freya walked to the golden door, then pushed it open.

——

"Hello!" Leslie aimed her arrow at the door, and as Freya's face appeared she narrowed her gaze and stepped back but refused to lower her bow, frowning deeply, "Tell me the name of the beast you killed in Area Two. I know its a wolf, but there was this name we—"

Freya understood Leslie, then sighed, "We never fought any monsters in Area Two because you met us in Area Three. You killed the wyrm and told us you'd meet us in Area Nine. So here we are in good faith — try your best not to release the arrow, it'd be quite a shame."

Leslie placed her bow in her inventory, searching around the area, "I am sorry, but it is protocol to carry out these precautions in higher areas." Her blue eyes narrowed as Darius's head poked out of the door, and she frowned, "Did he get another pet— two? Three?!"

Seeing Bob step in after Freya with four massive wolves, Leslie blinked twice then cleared her throat, speaking in a sugary voice, "Oh wow! I never knew that Bob would get so many strong pets with the little time we'd spent apart! He must have a very high mental stats, hahaha!"

"My mind value is over 200." Bob replied, and it was like a bullet that flew through the air and struck her in the heart. She stood stunned, staring at him blankly as he continued, "Hey, have you checked my level? Reaching higher floors would be a bree— hey!"

Leslie staggered aback with a horrified expression on her face, "L-Level 22? T-The last t-time we met Bob, you were at Level 9. How come you jumped 14 levels?! It took me years to farm enough to move from Level 10 to 20 — how is this even possible?"

"He said its natural." Freya shrugged.
