The tension between the two grew thick. Kai could clearly see that Adam was not at all ready to back down, and he didn't have time to deal with who was starting to regret his losses. Alex had him on a timer to deliver what he wanted, and that was what mattered to him.
"Young Master Crawford, there is something that I must attend to. Please excuse me," Kai said. He turned his back to Adam and was about to open the truck, but Adam placed his hand on it. Kai sighed inwardly as he realized his first mistake was leaving the car and entertaining him.
"Where was Sara taken?" Adam repeated, his gaze sharp and impatient.
