Nicholas arrived at the Crawford residence and walked in with Mr. North, leading the way. Everyone who saw him was visibly surprised knowing the years long animosity between Nicholas and Willaims.
Even Williams himself was shocked, too, when he received a call from the gate that Nicholas had come to see. After their not so friendly last encounter,expecting a visit from Nicholas was the last thing on his mind… if it was even there.
"In here, Sire," Mr North said as he opened the door for Nicholas.
"Thank you," Nicholas said, and the door closed behind him.
Behind the desk was Williams, whose apparent shock was not at all hidden. He rose to his feet and walked around the desk.
"This is rather unexpected, Nicholas," he said, not intending to sound rude but truly stating his surprise. "What brings you here?" He said while gesturing to the seats at the side away from the desk.
