Chereads / Melting Her Cold Heart / Chapter 2 - Not mine

Chapter 2 - Not mine

Sara walked into the room and into the closet as if she didn't see or hear what was going on on the bed. She rummaged through the clothes and found a knee-length peach colored dress, and picked it up.

Although she had some of her clothes moved here, they weren't much. So she could only make do with what was available.

Putting on a pair of sandal heels, she looked at her reflection in the mirror on the wall. Her hair was a mess and needed to be taken care of. That could have been done before the dress and shoes, but that would mean she would have seen those two, which made her skip it. But she also couldn't leave with her hair still dripping wet.

"I'll just have to see them, but pretend as if they are none existent," she said to herself. Sarah then exited the closet.

Meanwhile, the moment she walked into the closet and the door closed behind her, Adam and his mistress paused and looked around the room. Sara wasn't exactly careful not to be heard when she banged the door behind her.

"Did you hear something, Babe?" the woman asked. Fear as well as annoyance coated her eyes as she gazed at the door. No one was supposed to be in the room besides them.

"Stay right here, love. Let me check it out," Adam said. He caressed her cheek to ease her worries before he came out of her. Without covering himself, he walked towards the entrance door, but it was still locked. He did that before they climbed on the bed. "It's locked," she said, smiling to reassure her, but he had a bad feeling deep down inside of him.

Adam then returned to the bed and kissed the woman's forehead as he reassured over and over again that there was no one else inside with them. But all that went down the drain when Sara opened the closet once again and stepped out.

"Babe…?" The woman called, her eyes on the other woman who had made her presence known. "W…who… is she then?" She stuttered, already an idea of who the woman was.

Adam spun around, and his heart almost leaped out of his mouth when he saw the woman who acted as if she hadn't seen them. She just walked over to the dressing table, sat down and picked up the hairdryer, and started drying her hair.

"Sara…?!" He called her but didn't know whether to approach her or stay where he was. If she had been here the whole time, then she heard and saw everything. There was no way he was getting out of this easy.

Sara heard her nand and paused, but shortly after that, she resumed what she was doing.

"What are we going to do?" The woman whispered, her eyes never leaving Sara. Sara's calmness was unnerving. It scared her so much, but she also didn't want to act vulnerable and intimidated by another woman.

Adam opened his mouth and closed it with no words escaping.

Not only did Sara not act the way any woman in her position would act when they saw their potential husband in bed with another woman, she hadn't said a word either. Her silence gave off more warning bells than any action from her would have.

He was toast, and he knew that. Although he didn't love Sara anymore, he had to marry her. It was the only way to maintain his position in the family. Sara came with benefits, and that was what he was after.

Done with her hair, Sara stood up, fixed her dress, and marched toward the bed, her face, expressionless and eyes, indifferent.

"I am sorry for intruding. It was never my intention. Had I known, I wouldn't have come here today. I hope I can be forgiven?" She said in an apologetic tone. But with a blank face.

Although her words were words of apology, Adam felt like it was a threat placed on his very life.

"Sara, it's not…" Adam uttered but was immediately interrupted by Sara.

"But since I am here, I would like to return this," she pulled the ring off her finger and placed it on the bed. "I think it belongs to her. Around her finger. Not mine. You can go on now, I am leaving," she turned around and took a step towards the door.

Finally coming back to his senses after the shock of having their engagement anulled right before him, Adam rushed after her and grabbed her arm. "Sara, don't leave," he said pleadingly. "I can explain this," he waved his hand towards the woman on the bed.

Sara turned around and raised a brow. But he remained silent, having no words to say. He wanted to talk, to think of an excuse but alas, all words have left him.

"Let go of me," she said ttrying to pry her hand from his grip, but he shook his head.

"No. I won't do that," he refused to lose everything. Not after all his hard work.

Sara closed her eyes so as not to let any emotions out of them. She couldn't break now. Not ever. "Let go before I do something that you'd regret," she said in a cold tone. Sara doubted she would regret anything right because she wanted to hurt this man but she held back. Beside all the years she wasted on him she wouldnt regret anything else. A little physical pain on him would rather uplift her spirit.

"Babe, let her go if she wants to go," the mistress called, making him turn his head for a moment to look at her. She was still bare on the bed not even trying to cover herself up. She smiled at Sara and waved at her. Everything that they two have done completely visible on her. Sara could even still see his seed sipping out of her and her those thay stuck thigh, and the bed.

Sara just gritted her teeth and cl3nched her fists harder.

"Be quiet," Adam roared, his eyes turned sharp as he looked at her. Although he was glaring at her, that little opening was enough for Sara, and she forcefully yanked her arm out of his hold, kneed him, and quickly made her way to the door. While he staggered backward, grabbing his groin, groaning in pain.

Quickly opening the door, she walked through it and slammed it behind her. She didn't even stop to look back as she walked away. Her steps weren't hurried, and neither were they slow. Getting outside, she stoppedand looked at the villa she thought she could call home. Her heart ached, but only a little before she squashed down the feeling.

'You are not going to cry about this again, Sara. You have cried enough.' she chided herself. She got into her car and drove off. She would never step foot in this place again. They could go ahead and burn her clothes if they liked or just send them to her, and she'll burn them herself.

Sara picked her phone and made a call. It was answered just after three rings. "I am coming to you girls right now," she said without waiting for the other party to reply, she disconnected the call.
