Silence followed after Adam's series questions, taking his time to give the right answers, but Adam thought he wouldn't answer them. He was about to stand up when Williams called him again.
"Adam," Adam paused half off the seat. "We already discussed this. Alx hadn't always been the first choice. All of my children were given equal rights to prove their strengths. I do not discriminate within my family, nor do I have favorites. Did you forget that you have been the one sitting as the CEO of Apex?" Adam didn't reply, and Williams gave a curt nod of understanding. "Dominic also had his chance and quite similar to you, he failed."
A look of surprise crossed Adam's eyes, but he hid it quickly.
