In the real world, two gentlemen were having a heated conversation, 'Fendego, how did you manage to trap people in the game you created? You are always an impulsive risk-taker.'
Fendego beamed like shimmering light from the sky-blue water from the pool.
'It's a mystery I cannot share with anyone. Otherwise, you would definitely steal my idea, Bartmon.'
Fendego Mantagwan, went on laughing uncontrollably after giving a paradoxical answer.
He is so eccentric, he is the sole creator of the virtual reality game which Cynthia and the other participants have been trapped in.
Bartmon looked at his friend with scanning eyes, searching for his hidden treasure.
'I know where this is going. You are so obsessed with amassing tons of fortunes. You are indeed going to make a lot of money out of it, right?'
Bartmon knew his friend's mind pretty well, it was quite easy for him to know his thoughts, though at times Fendego Mantagwan is unpredictable.
'That's the idea.'
His cunning smile was written all over his face.
'You will definitely be untouchable by this move you have made. What else should we expect?'
Bartmon commented with excitement in his voice and a dubious smile expressed on his face and posed another question to extract more from Fendego Mantagwan.
Fendego Mantagwan became extra motivated, he shook his chair, tried to sit comfortably, grabbed the glass of wine which was set on a small glass table next to his chair, he sipped his glass of wine. When he had swallowed every remaining savor of the wine's taste, he breathed out a heavy sigh.
'I am not yet done with my creation. This virtual reality game is just on another level. It's something the world has never seen before. I will be broadcasting it on different social platforms, TV shows, including on YouTube. People will have to pay tons of money to stream. I also have it on betting sites. This game is the true testament that the sky is not the limit but the beginning.'
Fendego explained his next phase of action enthusiastically. His face became serious when he finished his speech.
'Oh my goodness, you will be in almost everything. But what about the people trapped in your virtual reality game? Will their families not track you out and sue you?'
Bartmon basked, putting on a concerned face, his tone twisted to one of a low pitch and sympathetic. He rightly didn't want to offend his friend, therefore, he was cautious in the manner he approached the subject.
'I have my tracks well covered, and nobody can come close or understand the depth of my technology, I am in a league of my own. If it was a thousand years back, people would worship me and call me god.'
To Bartmon's surprise, Fendego had been transformed from the previous person he knew, who had a quick temper.
'You are indeed insane, my friend, and you will be fabulously rich.' Bartmon laughed hysterically. The two beings chatted as they sipped their glasses of wine.
There was a serene moment for a while before Fendego could break the silence.
'I am actually doing the world a great favor. For instance, look at the drug cartels, drug dealers, thieves, gangsters, the mafias? All these will be taken out of the picture because of the way I designed my game. Characters in the virtual reality game will be enhanced beyond what human comprehension can comprehend. Even me, as the creator, I really don't know how far the potential those characters will yield.'
Fendego Mantagwan paused momentarily, he looked directly into Bartmon's eyes, he tried to see if his friend had understood his mind.
'I am trying to build an empire here and takeover the entire planet. The way I have manipulated the people trapped in the virtual reality game, the same way it will take over governments, my virtual reality game is the next biggest thing to be created in human history, maybe the greatest weapon to be created ever. With this game, I am undoubtedly unstoppable. All the people trapped in there are my soldiers and commandos.'
Back in the virtual reality gaming world, all the participants were dizzy with the troubling news which had just reached them and others still not believing it entirely.
Right at that moment, Cipher received a D M from Sara.
Cipher ignored it deliberately. She needed to first check her profile because of the disturbing news which weighed on her mind and bugged her a little bit.
She went to the Third Eye social network, logged into her account and straight away pressed on her profile.
Nothing much had changed except for the number of lives which had been updated with one life.
She went on to check on what was trending on her social network page.
@Maveric Dolita# This damn game has us trapped. If it has merged with reality, why can't we communicate with our relatives or family members?
Meveric Dolita's post has already reached 70 million views, sixty thousand comments, a hundred million likes and 130 million love tags.
Cipher went on to check the second twit.
@Alexton# The option of being denied access to choosing the mission we want to participate in is not fair. This damn tech...
Alexton had uncountable emojis of people crying. The comments alone have reached 200 million.
Cipher went on to read the third post.
@Sion Neta# This game was rated as my best game. And it was the best I ever played, but now what is happening?
Cipher went to the fourth message. It read, @Venon Tucker# I have tried countless times to log out of the game, but I can't. I do agree with @Maveric Dalita#
After Cipher had read about four posts she grasped what was going on. She, too, had the same questions swimming in her mind. However, that didn't trouble her that much. She did not have that much connection with her outside world, since she didn't remember her past. Her short-term memory was intact, especially in the V R gaming, and all the long time memories are gone.
She logged out of her Third Eye social network.
Cipher thought of her inbox and, without having to ponder over it, she pressed it on to check on Sara's D M.
Hello Cipher!
How do you find new changes to this game? I suppose it's not even a virtual reality game anymore, since we will be risking our own lives. It's really sad that we just have one life. That means we have to guard it at all costs.
I am really quite disappointed with the creator's decision. We have to work together and look after each other's backs if we have to survive longer or make it.
I hope to hear from you soon. If you have some time, don't hesitate to video chat with me on the Third Eye social network.
Your friend
Sara
She signed her signature as usual after her name.
On finishing reading Sara's message, Cipher did not intend to reply there and then.
She went back on scrolling the hologram display interface, not knowing what she wanted to do next. Just Curiosity dragged her through it.
'Viveibra!' she called out after she had enough of her aimless search.
'Yes, Cipher!' How can I help you?'
Viveibra showed up in person though in her holographic body and stood in front of Cipher.
'Well, I would like to visit my personal training space. How do I get there?'
