Chapter 67 - Chapter:68

Orochimaru discovered that Kirito's prowess in genjutsu had surpassed that of Kurenai Yuhi. Now, he was completely helpless against Kirito's illusions.

Desperately, Orochimaru shouted, "Kirito, you can't kill me!"

"Give me a reason," Kirito replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Don't bother with the nonsense about Akatsuki members not killing each other. You were the first to attack Itachi. And from the looks of it, you seem ready to defect from Akatsuki. Even if I kill you, the leader won't blame me."

Kirito stopped walking, a playful smile on his face. He held his sword, Kyouka Suigetsu, and whispered, "Shatter, Kyouka Suigetsu."

His real goal was to create an illusion for Kabuto, Orochimaru's still-developing protégé, and perhaps extort something useful from Orochimaru.

After a moment of contemplation, Orochimaru said, "Kirito, I saw it long ago. The reason you defected from Konoha and slaughtered the Sarutobi and Shimura clans was because Konoha could no longer satisfy you, right? You're like me, someone who loves ninjutsu."

"I have a large collection of ninjutsu. I can give you anything you want."

"I like talking to smart people," Kirito smiled, sheathing his sword. "But I'm not interested in your grotesque snake techniques. I do need a decent summoning beast and a solid defensive jutsu."

"I heard you have a summoning contract with Ryuchi Cave and have learned the Rashomon technique from the First Hokage."

"Oh, and the Flying Thunder God technique used by the Fourth and Second Hokage is impressive. As a disciple of Sarutobi Hiruzen, you must have seen it."

"If you can teach me these three techniques, maybe I can pretend I never saw you today."

"You have quite an appetite," Orochimaru replied. "I can give you the scrolls for the summoning contract with Ryuchi Cave and Rashomon."

"But not everyone can master Flying Thunder God. It requires a talent for space-time ninjutsu. I didn't write it down because I couldn't learn it."

"I'll keep that in mind. Hand over the other two scrolls."

Kirito wasn't discouraged. Whether Orochimaru was telling the truth or not, he hadn't expected much.

If he wanted to obtain the Flying Thunder God technique, there would be plenty of opportunities in the future.

"Here you go," Orochimaru said, spitting out two scrolls. He had resigned himself to the fact that compared to his life, everything else was worthless.

As Orochimaru attempted to hand the scrolls to Kirito, Kirito's voice interrupted, "It's too dirty, wipe the saliva off first."

Kirito then released Kabuto from his illusion.

Defeated by two rising stars, Itachi and Kirito, Orochimaru's anger had reached its peak. But the current situation was beyond his control.

In desperation, he suppressed his anger, threw the scrolls to Kabuto with his tongue, and said in a deep voice, "Kabuto, clean these for him."

As he spoke, he did not forget to give Kabuto a meaningful look.

"Yes, Lord Orochimaru," Kabuto responded respectfully, taking out a cloth and carefully wiping the scrolls.

Just as he was about to do something suspicious with the scrolls, Kirito's voice echoed again, "Your name is Kabuto Yakushi, right? You are the adopted son of the late Nonō Yakushi from the Konoha Orphanage. Although I sympathize with your past and despise Danzo, if you dare to do anything here, I will not forgive you."

"Remember, Danzo's left arm was cut off and cannot be restored. I have a way to kill you for good."

"Lord Kirito, you must be joking. How could I dare to do anything against you?" Kabuto wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and responded with a forced smile.

Only after Kabuto had wiped the scrolls clean did Kirito reach out and absorb the scrolls from Kabuto's hands with his chakra.

"I've given you what you wanted," Orochimaru said coldly. "Kabuto, remove my illusion. Let's go."

"Yes, Lord Orochimaru," Kabuto replied, moving to Orochimaru's side. He formed a seal with his right hand, attempting to break Orochimaru's illusion by disrupting his chakra but found it impossible.

Kirito's voice rang out again, "Don't waste your energy. The duel of illusions is a duel of mental energy. Your limited mental energy can't remove my illusion."

"What are you planning, Kirito?" Orochimaru roared, suspecting Kirito intended to rob him.

"Don't be so impatient. Since I've taken your things, I'll let you go today. But don't you want to see what I can summon?"

As he spoke, Kirito signed the two scrolls in front of Orochimaru and Kabuto.

With rapid hand signs, he performed the summoning jutsu.

Along with a huge burst of blue chakra from Kirito's palm, there was a bang. The smoke cleared, revealing a massive one-eyed red anaconda with reverse scales.

"Lord Orochimaru, what is this?" Kabuto stood behind Orochimaru, looking up in horror at the enormous creature.

Orochimaru was equally shocked, a drop of cold sweat dripping down his forehead. He said in a trembling voice, "I never thought he would summon this monster."

What Kirito summoned was not Manda, but a one-eyed red snake from the deepest part of Ryuchi Cave: Garaga.

A being that towered over all other snakes.

In this era, Garaga was not like the one in "Boruto," easily fooled by second-rate ninjas, but a true monster.

"I thought it would be Manda, but it's you," Kirito stood atop Garaga's head, speaking with surprise.

At the same time, Garaga noticed Orochimaru and Kabuto. Roaring at Orochimaru, Garaga said, "You are the human who signed a contract with that kid Manda. Who allowed you to summon me?"

With a violent wave of air from Garaga's mouth, Kabuto was blown away, and Orochimaru himself was nearly swept off his feet.

Yet Orochimaru's face showed no fear. Instead, he wore a sinister smile, looking over Garaga's head with a sense of schadenfreude.

"Haha, Garaga, don't misunderstand. It wasn't me who summoned you." Orochimaru was now in no hurry to escape.

As long as he didn't openly defect from Akatsuki, he wouldn't be hunted by other members.

He just needed to be wary of Kirito.

Orochimaru wanted to see how Kirito would tame the monstrous Garaga.
