Chapter 57 - Time to play

A pair of amethyst eyes scowled intensely at Ramiel's outward appearance. His story has shed new light on a few things for Avi. However, the most important question still remains unexplained.

" Everything is correct, but why don't I know about it? How did you keep it from me? I can accept the fact that you keep pulling surprises out of the Space Ring like a magician pulling rabbits out of a hat. But this is definitely too much!"

Ramiel shrugged. He didnt know what this was all about, nor on what principle the transfer of memories worked, nor why Avi knew nothing. He could only suspect.

" This is just a theory, but it may have something to do with the angel. "

Avi squinted her eyebrows at the mention of the mysterious being. She had never heard of anything like angels before, and the description didn't match any living species. At first, she thought Ramiel had made the whole thing up, but he didn't seem to lie. Besides, his emotions didn't indicate that.

" Even if that's the case, why would this thing interfere with your memories? It doesn't make sense... "

Ramiel wanted to put forward another theory on the subject but was forestalled by Seraphine.

" You're wrong. It makes sense. If I were him, I would do the same. "

Ramiel looked appreciatively at the necromancer. From the beginning, he had considered her a wise woman. Her actions so far only confirm this.

Feeling the former hunter's gaze, Seraphine looked into the amethyst abyss. She tried to guess the reason for his respect.

Of course, Avi didn't notice their little interaction. She was absorbed in her own thoughts. After a while, she broke the silence.

" I still don't understand what purpose he had in this. "

Ramiel sighed and rolled eyes in annoyance. Sometimes, Avi acted like a true genius, only to spoil everything with a few stupid questions or actions. The contradiction extremely annoyed the former hunter. It's quite as if he's working with someone stupid and super smart at the same time.

" It's simple, think a little. You are a powerful being who screwed up. Surely, you would want as few people as possible to know about it. "

Ramiel silently hoped that Avi would buy the story. The fairy could be terribly annoying when she insists on something. Anyway, the apple doesn't fall far from the apple tree. The former hunter is identical.

The fairy's petite mouth twisted into a grimace. What Ramiel said didn't seem to be a lie, but a few issues still didn't harmonize. Whichever way she looked at it, it seemed irrational. A being with powers equivalent to Nenneke's was shattering her previous worldview. No matter how long she thought about it, she couldn't accept similar heresies.

However, Avi decided to retreat temporarily despite her growing desire to solve the mystery. There was no point in arguing with a man if he didn't want to say something. The only option left to her was her own investigation into the matter. She wasn't sure if her plan would succeed, but Ramiel was sure to lose her guard at some point.

" It might make sense... " - Avi reluctantly conceded his point. She tried to look authentic so as not to arouse anyone's suspicions.

" Um... Didn't it seem strange to you? Suddenly, out of nowhere, an omnipotent being appears and rules over your world. " - Asme had been bothered by the question for a long time.

" It's not that I didn't think about it, but at some point, I realized there was nothing I could do about it. I was powerless. Like an ant in a clash with an elephant...This thing for a whim could kill me with a glance Asme, and I wouldn't even have a chance to defend myself. " - Ramiel muttered with a heavy expression and began to play with the horned beauty's fingers. In the meantime, his eyes slowly became dull, and his mind lost connection with his body.

The conversation continued at its best. Seraphine shared her thoughts with the rest about the angel from the former hunter's story. The women listened attentively most of the time, adding their loose remarks.

No one noticed Ramiel's strange condition except elfess.

" Are you all right ? " - Caera gently shook Ramiel's body. By doing so, she wanted to revive him. For several minutes, he lay motionless and unresponsive before the elfess managed to bring the former hunter back to life.

His eyes had regained their brightness, but his head was empty. The man felt strange. Just a moment ago, he was talking to everyone, and now he felt the worried gaze of four women and a snake on him.

" Why do you ask? " - Ramiel asked, a bit stupefied. However, he received an awkward silence in response. He didn't like it. The former hunter forced his gray cells to think, but a headache with stupefaction isn't the best combination for making conclusions.

" Are you sure you are okay? You flew away for a while. You didn't react to anything, and your eyes became dull and empty. " - Concerned, Asme looked at Ramiel closely.

She tried to see into the depths of his soul, but her skills didn't yet allow her to do so.

" Maybe Felix should take a look at you. Your mind may have suffered some internal damage. I'll go get him. " - As Caera was about to get up in search of a healer, she was stopped by Seraphine. Hearing her words, the woman's expression turned ugly. The previously smiling corners of her mouth dropped, and anxiety set in her golden eyes.

" Felix will not help him. His problem isn't in the body, but in the soul. " - Seraphine took on the unwanted role of executor, but someone had to do it. Moreover, this was only the beginning of bad news.

She had a preliminary outline of what was happening to the master. Years spent studying the element of death had not been in vain.

" Such phenomena will become more frequent from now on. master, your soul is slowly but effectively separating from the body. The result is a temporary loss of consciousness, as happened a moment ago. At first, the attacks will be sporadic, but over time, they will increase in strength and intensity. " - Seraphine sounded grim, but the former hunter didn't seem moved by her analysis.

" Just that much? I expected something worse... " - Ramiel replied nonchalantly as if it was no big deal, sending everyone into a stupor. Even the little-minded skeletons questioned whether their leader was of sound mind.

" Master, do you understand what kind of danger this brings during a fight? "

Ramiel was silent for a moment. Then, his hand went to Asme's silver hair, and he played with it. He wrapped the thin strands around his fingers, teasing the woman.

" Fighting will not be a problem. Even if I'm not conscious, I'll be able to handle it. "

That shouldn't be possible unless... No, that's not an option. At this point, even I am stronger than him. What I'm thinking about is absurd. The preparations alone require years of murderous training; even so, only a few people manage to reach this stage.

A possibility was born in Seraphine's mind, but it died even faster than it appeared. As she mentioned earlier, it was too absurd. The man in front of her looked twenty-one years old. He couldn't have the necessary experience even if he had immense talent. Yes, his skills are amazing, but they aren't enough.

Seraphine's reasoning wasn't wrong. She acted as any person should. Based on the available information, she tried to draw logical conclusions. What she didn't know was that Ramiel wasn't really twenty-one years old and that his talent was something that couldn't be measured by human standards.

The ex-hunter grunted, not wanting to pursue the matter any further. Despite the absolute loyalty of the creatures living in the dungeon, he didn't want to reveal all his secrets.

He wouldn't have felt very comfortable doing so.

" Is there something you need? If it's nothing absurd, I think I'll be able to provide it for you. "

Seraphine didn't speak for a long while. Of course, she needed many things, but most of them couldn't be obtained in the dungeon. She could make things like simple tools for processing corpses, but she needed a lot of space for that.

After weighing the pros and cons, she decided.

" If it's possible, I want the whole floor exclusively for my experiments. Not everyone might like the sight of a disemboweled corpse. "

Like any field of magic, Necromancy was subject to its own rules. Living corpses could be created in two ways. By directly resurrecting and enslaving the soul, or by creating a new existence from body fragments. Even though the processes differed, they still led to one goal.

In fact, necromancy based its power on enslaved souls. With them, it was possible to create armies or wield powerful spells.

" Hmm... " Ramiel muttered under his breath, looking for the optimal solution. Giving up the entire floor was out of the question for now. It consolidated with his future plans. He rested chin on Asme's shoulder, pondering what to do.

" I can't give you the whole floor right now. The best I can provide you is a room carved into the dungeon's wall. I don't rule out such an option in the future, but for now, it must be enough for you… Do you want anything else? "

Ramiel was already bored with this conversation and wanted to end it as soon as possible. The most important points had been clarified, and now he had much more interesting things to do. Two beauties had been waiting for his attention for a few days. He was a tad impatient.

Wanting to quench his thirst, the former hunter placed his hand on the inside of the horned beauty's soft thighs. Using little force, Ramiel gently squeezed and massaged them. Under the influence of the man's touch, Asme became excited. A pink blush flooded her face. She was quite bold and feisty for a succubus, but doing it in front of everyone seemed absurd. However, if he wanted it... could she say no?

Of course, she could, but where would all the fun go? Asme enjoyed Ramiel's various follies.

Seeing what was being prepared, Seraphine expressed her disapproval in thoughts. The way her master wastes time, which she has little anyway, seemed disappointing. She had once been young herself, but one must know moderation. Not wanting to disturb them any longer, she said goodbye.

" No, master, if you allow me, I will give myself away. "

Ramiel nodded his head. Then he waited for Seraphine to move away and slowly, determinedly, moved his fingers higher towards Asme's source.

The horned beauty bit her lower lip and turned to face her tormentor. Ramiel had to admit, Asme was damn sexy right now. If he hadn't planned something more, he would have definitely thrown at her and torn her clothes to shreds.

Their lips joined in a long and bawdy kiss, during which the former hunter's hands massaged the woman's intimate area.

Caera was consumed by jealousy. She sat behind Ramiel the whole time, hugging him from behind while he ignored her. She couldn't stand it any longer and bit the man's earlobe, drawing his attention to her.

Her cheeks turned red and her eyes expressed feigned resentment. Seeing this, Ramiel laughed. The way the elfess demanded attention was adorable.

" What do you guys think about moving to a more secluded place? "
