The first rays of the morning sun struggled to break through the dense treetops, awakening the wildlife to life. Animals emerged from their burrows and hiding places, and flowers and plants opened their buds, clamoring upward. Slowly, day replaced night, sending the weary predators to a well-deserved rest.
Somewhere in the heart of the wilderness, a young man fell into a deep sleep. Judging by the nervous movements of his eyelids and tightly clenched lips, he was haunted by one of the terrible barracks. Even the pleasant rays of the sun couldn't give him the peace he craved.
The woman who held his head in her lap muscled his temple with her fingertip as if she feared the man would crumble under her touch. She repeated the process several times because her actions didn't have the desired effect. It wasn't until the fifth attempt that she was able to calm the churning sea of energy within the man.
