I have killed six rats so far and it has occupied 20% of the space in the hunter watch storage.
The grade E rats have also joined the battle bring us close to failing on the mission, but the hunters who have been watching the battle from far joined the attack helping us to even the odds.
With them joining the battle, it has become easy for the volunteers to handle the grade F rats. It has become too easy for me to handle 5 rats at the same time which I am doing right now.
If it was before the level-up, I would have never been able to even dodge these many rats, but now I wish I could get another 1 or 2 rats come at me so I can know my limit.
I immediately regretted wishing to have more rats as another 3 rats joined in attacking me putting more pressure on me just like before.
'Damn, I should think of what I am wishing for.' I just thought to myself before slashing my sword at a rat's head which got killed before it could react.
I must kill these rats sooner before the 3 rats get angry as these rats are different than the ones I have been fighting so far. They are a little bigger and stronger than them.
If I can compare them with the human grade, I am sure they will be at High-F grade, but since we do not have levels for them, they are just categorised under grade F.
"This is my last one." I said giving my last of my energy potions to my teammate. They have been using their skills from the minute the battle started.
I have only used my Air Armor and haven't used the Air Strike as I want to keep it as my trump card. I have also started infusing my element energy into my sword just some time ago.
I can continue using Air Armor and infuse energy for another 2 hours without any problem because of my level-up which has increased the limit of my energy.
PUCH.. SCREECH..
I pierced my Red Blade on the underside of 1 of the rats which wailed in pain before dying to it's wounds. It is 1 of the stronger rats I have been fighting.
I focused on killing them 1st and now I have only 1 more to kill as i have killed another as soon as they came close to me. This will be easy for me as the other 5 rats are just punching bags for me after the level-up.
The rat seeing it's kins killed becomes angry and jumps at me which I tried to dodge only to feel pain on my left thigh where another rat has just bit me.
I swing my sword at it cutting it's body into 2 while dodging another attack of the stronger rat. The rat missing it's target again and again have gotten angry and jumped at my face.
I swing my sword vertically killing the rat using it's own momentum against it. After I killed it, it became easy for me to kill the rest of the weaker rats that I had been fighting.
The good thing is I didn't get any other rats to fight except for the ones I have been fighting. It took me 20 minutes to kill all the rats I was fighting after killing the stronger Steel Teeth Rats.
I checked the surroundings using my senses and noticed no more rats are coming from the hole or the nest entrance which could mean only one thing. We have completed our mission.
We have successfully exterminate the rat nest. Things did go south at the beginning and we have lost 6 volunteers and 3 from the Hammerand in this mission, but we have completed it.
We gathered together around Max who is our leader in this mission to know what will be our orders as we can't leave until he orders us to.
I can see my sister Zaana standing behind Max with pride on her face. She has the right to be proud as she has killed more than 50 rats in this mission after she came in with the reinforcements.
I have killed 14 rats in total which will give me about 35000 credits if I sell them in the Hunter's Guild which I will. I haven't decided yet to join the Hammerand even if I get the chance which I will come to know by tomorrow.
After getting our final orders from Max to board the trucks, we boarded them and reached the entrance at the defence wall by 3:00 pm.
We didn't talk to each other just like how we were this morning. But this time it was different. In the morning, we were preparing for the battle, but now it is because of the sadness in our hearts.
We might have won the battle and completed the mission, but have lost 9 people. This is the 1st time for us to be in a battle of this size and to see people getting killed in front of us and the worst part is, we couldn't do anything about it.
This became a heavy burden in my heart, as this is the same thing I want to prevent happening to my family. This made my resolve in becoming stronger more firm.
I can also feel increase in Dawn's power, looks like she has also levelled up in this battle to High-F grade. I guess I will have to be even more extra careful when she is around.
After reaching the Hammerand tent, we left to our houses immediately as the promised 50000 credits were transferred to our accounts the minute the company officials confirmed the success of our mission.
Dawn and I went to the crafters to mend our armors which were damaged during the mission. We were informed that it will take at least a day for us to get it back.
Now I have a total of 84000 credits in my account which will be enough for me to get another set of Armor that I can use when this armor is damaged.
I bought the same set of armor from the Hunter's Guild and my balance went down to 3200 credits.
