Chereads / The War of Extinction / Chapter 2 - Registration

Chapter 2 - Registration

We spoke of the possibilities I can use my Air element to become powerful. 'With the air element, you can become a good archer.' This was the suggestion my sister Zaana gave me.

But, I am not good in archery as it needs focus, calm mind and discipline which I don't have. In close combat, I am good in basics, enough to handle the monsters in the wild.

I slept after 2:00 am after my parents and sister left my room giving me loads of suggestions and hints on what to do.

I woke up by 7:00 am, did my morning chores, took a shower and went to the dining room which is next to the kitchen to have my breakfast in a hurry.

I have to go to the Hunter's Guild to register myself as a newly awakened so I will get the approval to go outside the defence wall surrounding the town Havet to hunt some monsters.

It is a small town surrounded by large forest and mountains with huge trees. This will be suitable for monsters which are powerful, but they roam too deep inside the forest which is dangerous for newly awakened humans to go.

I will have to decide which monsters I can hunt and which places I can go once I train myself in the one and only basic skill I can use in my current grade.

We moved into this town only a month back, so I don't have any friends here and I don't care about it as people will be attracted towards me when I become powerful.

My father wanted to take me to the Hunter's Guild, but my mother said she will be the one to take me and reminded him as he has to do some crafting for the company 'Hama' he works for.

My father chose the support class as he decided to have a career in crafting as he is interested in crafting. I can also choose Hunter or Support class when I register and I chose to be a Hunter.

If I want to be a Support, I have to go to the Support Guild to register. Each of these guilds are managed directly by the government and keeps a record of the accomplishments the humans achieve.

We reached the Hunter's Guild by 9:00 am and could see many hunters going in and out of the Guild.

It is a 3 floor building made of white marble stones which can defend the attacks on a grade D monster. It can only create a small Crack on the building even if it uses it's powerful attack.

It had the symbol of the Guild an oval shield with a long sword pierced through it diagonally in gold color hanging above the entrance.

We entered the building and went to the reception desk to get a token for registration. I got the token number 3 and was asked to go to the room number 2 which was on the far side of the floor.

I went to the room with my mother who knocked the door. After a sew seconds we heard "Enter." We entered the room to see a familar face. It is uncle Jon, our neighbour.

He was sitting on a fancy chair behind a rectangular desk that had a computer and a small white crystal ball on it.

"Hello Leena, hello Alex. Take your seat. Firstly, happy birthday Alex." He said gesturing to the chairs in front of the table also wishing me.

"Thank you uncle." I said with a smile and sat while my mother just nodded at him with a little smile before sitting. He is one of the few people who helped us to settle in this town when we came here a month back.

He gave a form to my mother to fill the details required while he passed me a guide on the wild monsters that roams around the town and where to find them.

The form will ask for my basic information like name, date of birth, the element I have awakened with the system. It also has the approval and permission of my parents for me to be registered as a Hunter and to go outside the defence wall to hunt.

My mother filled the form and gave it back to Jon in 15 minutes. He took a few minutes to go through the form and enter the details in the computer in front of him.

After entering the details to the computer he looked at me and said "Keep your right hand on the crystal ball kid. You'll feel a jolt come out of you, but it is just to confirm that you have awakened the system."

I placed my hand on the crystal ball and felt a jolt passing all over my body before it moved out of my body and entered the crystal ball which vibrated a little before turning green.

Jon smiled after seeing the crystal ball turn green and started typing on the computer. After a few minutes, he took a wrist watch from one of the draws of the desk and connected it to the computer.

A few seconds later, the display of the watch glowed with a "beep beep" confirming it is ready to be used. He disconnected it from the computer and gave it to me and said "Welcome to the world of Hunters Alex."

"Thanks uncle." I thanked him and took the watch from him and looked at it. It is called 'Hunter Watch' which will be provided by the Guild to all the newly registered hunters.

I wore the watch on my left hand wrist. It has the advanced feature 'Auto-Fit' which allows it to Fit to the size of the wrist it is worn. It adjusted it size and hugged my wrist firmly as if it was crafted specifically for me.

After wearing the watch, I checked the contents of it. It has multiple uses for a Hunter. It acts as a communication device as it has an inbuilt hologram emitter.

It also has the features of a laptop allowing me to browse the information required for a Hunter along with a direct communication with the Guild using a special email access that can be used only to contact the Hunter's Guild and it's members.
