Chapter 14 - Chapter 14:A Kiss and a Goodnight.

Lola really wanted to see Mr. L's expression, but she didn't quite dare to. The moment she jumped onto him, all her courage had been spent.

She could only shut her eyes tightly, clinging to his neck like a koala, inhaling the sharp yet refreshing scent at his neck. Gradually, her anger calmed down in the warmth of his breath, and she became aware of her rashness and impropriety.

But to immediately jump off Mr. L would be rather embarrassing. In the end, it was Mr. L who put his hand under her thigh and placed her on the bed. He didn't say anything, but his overly calm attitude made her feel even more ashamed. She had been so forward, so passionate, yet he remained unmoved, not even offering any reproach or criticism. He must think she's a ridiculous clown.

At that moment, Mr. L's deep voice sounded above her head, "Have you calmed down?"

Lola hung her head dejectedly, not answering. She was too ashamed to speak.

Villiers lowered his head and looked at the top of her head, his gaze unconsciously falling on her bright red lips. Remembering that soft, burning sensation, he couldn't help but close his eyes, his throat dry as if he had swallowed sand. He couldn't let his thoughts continue down this path. He turned and strode toward the door, saying, "I'll take you home tomorrow. Rest here for tonight."

"...Mr. Villiers," her soft, low voice came from behind him, filled with sadness, "Do you hate me?"

He was silent for a moment. "No."

She immediately followed up, "Then do you like me?"

She really was still so young, so naive. Villiers rubbed his brow and sighed, "Lola, I can't like you."

She stubbornly asked, "Why?"

"Would you like a boy decades younger than yourself?"

"If it were you, I would."

He couldn't help but smile slightly. "Thanks for liking me, but I probably wasn't even born yet."

Lola didn't like his attitude at all. She felt that her affection was sacred and serious, yet he either avoided her advances or turned the conversation into a joke. His evasiveness left her feeling disappointed and frustrated. "What I mean is, if I were in my fifties and you were only seventeen or eighteen, I definitely wouldn't despise you."

He chuckled lightly. "Despise? Shouldn't it be taking advantage?"

Lola was confused. "Taking advantage? Of what?"

"Taking advantage of an eighteen-year-old boy like me."

Seeing his serious expression, she suddenly realized that he meant her, in her fifties, taking advantage of him. She bit her lower lip and burst into laughter. After laughing for a while, she became both disappointed and a little angry—this old man wouldn't even want to take advantage of her!

She puffed out her cheeks, still wanting to say something to him, but he had already reached the bedroom door and was about to close it. "Good night, Lola," he said.

She could only reply unhappily, "Good night."

With a soft "click," the door closed. The world returned to silence and darkness, with only the dim light from the windows outside. Lola sighed in frustration, lying on the bed, arms and legs sprawled out like a starfish, staring up at the ceiling. After Mr. L left, her thoughts finally began to settle, and all her emotions slowly returned to her mind.

On one hand, she felt deeply ashamed of her bold kiss, but on the other, she thought she was a brave warrior, boldly stealing Mr. L's kiss. She also worried that he might dislike her, but remembering that he had said good night before leaving, she felt that maybe he didn't hate her after all.

The thoughts of a young girl buzzed in her mind like the chirping of sparrows. Lola tossed and turned in bed for a while before falling into a drowsy sleep. She didn't know how long she had slept when she heard someone calling her from outside, "Miss Brown, Miss Brown…"

Lola had terrible morning temper. Without even listening to who was calling her, she irritably kicked her legs twice and shouted in a hoarse voice, "Leave me alone!"

The annoying voice disappeared. A minute later, she suddenly remembered that this was Mr. L's room, and the person calling her was most likely Mr. L himself. Cold sweat broke out instantly, and all her sleepiness vanished without a trace. Lola sat up abruptly, wanting to rush out and apologize, but hesitated for a moment and instead went into the bathroom.

In the mirror, she saw her messy brown hair and the remnants of last night's lipstick on her lips. She grinned, noticing that some lipstick had even gotten on her teeth. She had no idea if Mr. L had seen it last night.

Lola washed her face with cold water and rinsed her mouth several times to make sure there was no bad breath. Then she used the hotel's metal comb to dampen her thick hair and comb it neatly, braiding it into two thick plaits and pinning them on top of her head. Unfortunately, she had forgotten to bring her lipstick from home, but luckily her lips were naturally a rosy color.

After finishing all this, Lola opened the bedroom door and walked out quietly. "Sorry… I wasn't fully awake earlier."

Daniel didn't see Lola last night, and after hearing her voice just now, he assumed she was a rude, wild, and impolite delinquent girl. But upon seeing her in person, he realized her charm completely overshadowed any delinquent traits. She was wearing a dress as short and tight as a swimsuit, its skirt flaring like petals and barely covering the tops of her thighs, revealing large patches of smooth, apricot-colored skin. Her bones were delicate, and the fine brown hairs on her arms and calves shimmered softly in the sunlight.

No wonder Mr. Villiers didn't send her away. Faced with such a sexy and alluring enchantress, who would want to sternly drive her off?

Just then, Villiers' voice sounded beside him, "Daniel."

Daniel immediately lowered his eyes and averted his gaze.

He thought Mr. Villiers had called his name to warn him not to stare, but to his surprise, his usually unconcerned master casually ordered, "Go buy some proper clothes for a normal girl."

Daniel glanced at Villiers in surprise, then lowered his head again and obediently replied, "Right away, sir."
