Chapter 12 - The Golden King's Bow

I sent the attributes of the Wild Golden Armor to them as an image. Immediately, Dragon Soul and Titan's eyes lit up with excitement. After all, such an exquisite bronze-tier armor was a rare treasure for both swordsmen and berserkers!

Dragon Soul asked, "Scholar, is this the only item?"

"There's also a bow!" I replied.

Dragon Soul smiled, "Let's take a look at the bow then. By the way, what class are you thinking of choosing?"

After a moment's thought, I said, "If this bow is powerful enough, I'll choose archer. If it's weak, I'll go for berserker!"

Dragon Soul and Titan exchanged glances, then simultaneously looked heavenward and sighed, "May the heavens bless him with a super rare bow!"

I couldn't help but laugh. These two were quite interesting. If I chose archer, I wouldn't be able to equip the armor, which would allow them to legitimately purchase the Wild Golden Armor from me...

So, I immediately took out the longbow. Its curves were elegant, with a faint glow emanating from the bowstring. It was truly a sight to behold!

In a flash of light, the bow's name and attributes appeared:

[Golden King's Bow] (Bronze Tier)

Attack: 55-70

Strength: +7

Required Level: 14

(Unidentified)

I stood there, stunned. It was indeed a bronze-tier item! And it already had a formidable attack power of 70 before identification. What would it be like after identification?

I quickly created an image of the Golden Bow's attributes and sent a copy to each of them. Dragon Soul and Ghost Flame nearly drooled, while Violet Melody's beautiful eyes gleamed with envy.

Titan grabbed my hand and said, "Brother, let's go back to town and get it identified! We'll discuss the price of the armor, and we'll try our best to meet your asking price!"

I was taken aback. Titan was quite straightforward, showing his intentions so clearly. Dragon Soul, on the other hand, was much more subtle!

In fact, Dragon Soul was also swallowing hard, but he managed to control himself.

So, in a flash of light, the five of us appeared in the newbie village. We went to the identification shop, where an old craftsman was tinkering with antiques, looking quite content.

"Thud!"

I dropped the Wild Golden Armor on the table and said, "Identify this!"

The identifier looked back and said, "The fee is 10 silver coins!"

Damn, 10 silver coins!

I winced but quickly pulled out 10 silver coins.

The identifier waved his hand over the equipment, and suddenly a light shone on the armor, revealing its true nature to everyone:

[Wild Golden Armor] (Bronze Tier - Armor)

Defense: 85

Strength: +10

Vitality: +5

Required Level: 14

It had gained a whopping 35 points of defense, plus 10 points of strength and 5 points of vitality!

Everyone was stunned.

After a long while, Dragon Soul said, "This equipment is incredible. Scholar, let's check out that bow now!"

I placed the Golden Bow on the table. The identifier, who had been nonchalant before, suddenly became focused. He carefully examined the Golden Bow and said, "Oh, I didn't expect to see such a treasure. The identification fee is 10 gold coins!"

I was dumbfounded. "What? You must be mistaken! The Golden Armor only cost 10 silver coins to identify. How can the Golden Bow cost 10 gold coins?"

The identifier lazily glanced at me and said, "If you're not willing to pay, then leave!"

At this point, Dragon Soul pulled me aside and said, "Don't be foolish! The higher the identification fee, the more exceptional the equipment is! If you don't have enough money, I'll cover the identification fee!"

I immediately became alert. If he paid the identification fee, he would surely try to significantly lower the price of the Wild Golden Armor. That kind of losing deal wasn't worth it!

So, I directly handed 10 gold coins to the identifier. Unfortunately, out of the 12 gold coins I had gotten from the boss drop, 10 were now gone! At least I still had two left, which I could use for tomorrow's company expenses!

The identifier took a deep breath and gently stroked the Golden Bow. A flash of light appeared, and the bow's true nature was revealed:

[Golden King's Bow] (Silver Tier)

Attack: 80-125

Strength: +15

Agility: +12

Additional Effect: Perfect Accuracy, attacks cannot be dodged by the target

Required Level: 15

For a moment, everyone was stunned! The Golden Bow had actually been upgraded from bronze tier to silver tier during the identification process!

After nearly five minutes, Dragon Soul exclaimed, "Incredible!"

I was also amazed. Those 10 gold coins were well spent! Being able to equip a bow with 125 attack at level 15 was unheard of! Moreover, this Golden Bow was a silver-tier item, even higher than bronze tier. Perhaps this bow could be used until level 30! Or even level 50!

Most importantly, the bow had an additional effect: Perfect Accuracy! It couldn't be dodged by opponents. This seemingly unremarkable attribute gave me a bold idea: Ordinary archer players usually split their stat points between strength and agility to ensure both attack power and accuracy. Agility determines accuracy, while strength determines attack power. With this Golden Bow, I wouldn't need to worry about accuracy. If I focused all my points on strength and used this bow for leveling, what kind of leveling speed could I achieve?

Thinking about this, I couldn't help but laugh out loud! A newbie expert was about to be born!

Beside me, Dragon Soul and Titan couldn't wait any longer. They looked at me and said, "Has this guy gone crazy with joy?"

I stopped laughing and quickly put the Golden Bow in my inventory. At level 12, I still couldn't equip it, so I had to keep it safe. Then, I turned to Dragon Soul and said, "If the Sword Fire guild wants the Wild Golden Armor, make an offer!"

Dragon Soul and Titan exchanged smiles, then Dragon Soul said, "Our funds are limited. We can only offer you 20 gold coins for now. This is all the savings of our brothers..."

I glanced at him and smiled, "Come on, you know very well that a bronze-tier armor is worth more than that..."

Dragon Soul looked embarrassed. At this moment, Violet Melody whispered something to him and handed him something. Then, Dragon Soul walked over to me with renewed confidence and said, "Scholar, take a look at this. If we add it to the 20 gold coins, would it be enough for the Wild Golden Armor?"

As he finished speaking, Dragon Soul opened the trade window with me. A flash of light revealed a book in the trade window:

[Armor-Piercing Arrow]: Ignores 50% of target's defense, attack power depends on skill level.

I was slightly shocked. As everyone knows, in "Ethereal Surge," skill books had to be obtained through drops. Only the most basic skills could be learned from NPC instructors. This Armor-Piercing Arrow would be perfect for dealing with high-defense knights or berserkers!

So, I directly placed the Wild Golden Armor in the trade window. Dragon Soul added 20 gold coins, and the trade was completed!

Dragon Soul immediately gave the armor to Judgment, who accepted it without much ceremony. However, since his level wasn't high enough, he went to store it in the warehouse.

I also stored the Golden Bow in the warehouse. Then Dragon Soul said to me, "Scholar, have you thought about joining a team? Our Sword Fire guild may not have many members, but we're all good brothers. If you want to join, you're more than welcome!"

I was tempted. The fact that Dragon Soul could directly trade the valuable Wild Golden Armor to Titan showed how well he treated his brothers. Following such a leader would likely lead to a comfortable life in the game. However, I remembered that Emma might want to create her own team. I owed Emma so much; it wouldn't be right if I didn't serve her!

So, I said to Dragon Soul, "I need some time to consider it. If I decide to join, I'll let you know right away!"

Dragon Soul nodded and laughed heartily, "Alright! We need to go level up now, so we'll be off!"

The four core members of Sword Fire left the newbie village. Titan was overjoyed, Ghost Flame shared in his happiness, and Violet Melody looked back at me with a slight smile before leaving. As a cleric, she had managed to reach level 10 so quickly, probably by teaming up with Dragon Soul and the others!

Thinking about this, I walked alone towards the job advancement guild!
