Chapter 25 - The Origin of Sinspire

Alex stood before the dark orb, his fists still clenched, his mind racing with questions. The orb pulsed with an ominous energy, its very presence unsettling. Before Alex could act, the voice returned, calm yet firm, resonating within his mind.

"Let me introduce myself, I am Extra," the voice said, cutting through the oppressive silence of Sinspire. Alex paused, his eyes narrowing as he tried to comprehend the presence speaking to him.

"Why shouldn't I destroy the orb?" Alex demanded, his frustration mounting.

Extra's voice responded, steady and deliberate. "The reason for not destroying the orb lies in an old story." Without waiting for Alex's reply, Extra began to narrate.

"At first, the Antagonist wasn't like the creature you see now. He was simply the opposite of the Protagonist, a person with a different ideology. But everything changed when the Creator started to identify the Antagonist as evil. The Antagonist began to personify the very concept of malice, becoming twisted, corrupted, and ultimately transforming into the devil himself."

Alex's fists loosened slightly as he listened, the weight of the story drawing him in. Extra continued, "Over time, the Antagonist's role diminished to that of a mere tool to highlight the Protagonist. He lost his depth, becoming an error driven only by chaos and destruction. This transformation coincided with the birth of genre, and with it, a powerful new entity emerged: Plot Armor."

Alex's eyes flickered at the mention of Plot Armor. Memories surfaced, but he remained silent as Extra pressed on.

"With Plot Armor's rise, the Antagonist's corruption deepened. Plot Armor and the Protagonist joined forces to seal the Antagonist in a portion of fiction, which later evolved into Sinspire, tainted by his evil. The orb you see now is a fragment of Plot Armor. It absorbs the Antagonist's power, continually creating new versions of him for stories, maintaining the balance necessary for fiction to exist."

Alex's mind swirled with the implications of Extra's words. "If the Antagonist is trapped here, how is he attacking my story?" he asked, his voice edged with urgency.

"Your story and world are empty," Extra replied gently. "Do you remember Chapter 5, 'A New Day'? That's when you made Plot Armor quit his job."

Alex's breath caught as realization dawned. "When Plot Armor left, he took the balance with him," Extra explained. "Without him, your world became vulnerable, a void the Antagonist could exploit. His chaos seeped in, unchecked, corrupting your story. His power started accumulating in your world and he took control over it."

Alex's jaw tightened. He understood now. "So, what do I do?" he asked, his determination.
