Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Inferno Unleashed

---

The Argentum was growing more dangerous by the hour. The impostors were becoming increasingly desperate, their sabotage attempts more cunning and deadly. Saitama had learned to trust no one and rely solely on his system's guidance. But even as he grew stronger, he knew that he couldn't survive alone forever.

His mind wandered back to the system's brief mention of a companion, a mention so fleeting that he had almost dismissed it. But now, with the impostors tightening their grip on the station, Saitama couldn't help but wonder if this mysterious ally would make a difference. He continued through the corridors, his senses heightened, as he moved towards the engine room—a critical area that the impostors would surely target.

---

The engine room was the heart of The Argentum, pulsating with raw energy that powered the entire station. As Saitama approached, he could feel the immense heat radiating from the room. The system's interface appeared before him, delivering another cryptic message:

[Warning: The engine room is under siege. High temperatures detected. Impostors are attempting to overload the core. A companion is en route to assist you.]

The news was dire, but the mention of a companion brought a glimmer of hope. The system had never failed him before, and if it said help was on the way, then it was worth trusting. Saitama activated Holo-Camouflage and stealthily entered the engine room.

---

Inside, the temperature was unbearable. The engine core was glowing a fierce red, on the brink of meltdown. Standing before the core were _Tansique_, _Kairos_, and _Zephyr_, their faces twisted with malice as they worked to destabilize the station's power source. Saitama observed them carefully, assessing the situation.

The core was protected by a thick glass barrier, but cracks were forming under the intense heat. The impostors were using their powers to accelerate the core's collapse. If they succeeded, the entire station would be obliterated. Saitama knew he had to act fast, but in this heat, his options were limited.

Suddenly, the system chimed in with another notification:

[Companion Arrived: Magmate — A creature of living magma. Capable of withstanding extreme heat and manipulating fire-based elements. Magmate is fiercely loyal and will assist in combat.]

Just as the words appeared, a small, fiery creature materialized beside Saitama. It was about the size of a large dog, its body composed of molten rock with bright, glowing eyes that radiated intelligence. Magmate's presence immediately made the unbearable heat seem manageable, the creature absorbing and balancing the intense energy around them.

Saitama couldn't help but smile. "You're a sight for sore eyes, Magmate. Let's save this station."

---

Magmate growled softly, acknowledging Saitama's words. The creature's body shimmered with heat as it prepared to face the impostors. Saitama could sense the bond forming between them, a connection forged in the fire of battle.

Without wasting a moment, Saitama ordered Magmate to focus on stabilizing the engine core while he dealt with the impostors. Magmate leaped into action, its body glowing even brighter as it approached the core. The creature's mere presence seemed to calm the core, the cracks in the glass slowly beginning to mend.

Meanwhile, Saitama activated Energy Focus and charged at the impostors. Tansique was the first to notice him, her eyes widening in shock as he appeared out of nowhere. Before she could react, Saitama delivered a powerful blow to her midsection, sending her crashing into the wall.

Kairos and Zephyr immediately turned their attention to Saitama, their faces twisting with anger. Kairos lunged forward, his fists crackling with electricity, while Zephyr conjured a gust of wind to knock Saitama off balance. But Saitama was prepared.

Using Energy Focus, Saitama dodged Kairos's electrified punches with ease, his movements swift and precise. He countered with a series of strikes, each one landing with bone-crushing force. Kairos was relentless, but Saitama's enhanced abilities gave him the upper hand. With one final punch, Saitama sent Kairos sprawling across the floor, unconscious.

Zephyr, seeing his companion fall, unleashed a powerful windstorm in a last-ditch effort to take Saitama down. The force of the wind threatened to throw Saitama off his feet, but he held his ground. He focused all his energy into a single point, gathering his strength for a decisive attack.

---

As the windstorm raged, Saitama unleashed his Energy Focus in a concentrated blast. The force of the attack cut through the wind like a knife, striking Zephyr with a devastating impact. The impostor was thrown back, slamming into the engine room's control panel, where he lay motionless.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Saitama turned his attention back to Magmate. The creature had successfully stabilized the engine core, the cracks in the glass completely sealed. The engine's temperature had returned to safe levels, and the station was no longer in danger of a catastrophic meltdown.

Magmate trotted back to Saitama, its body still glowing with the remnants of absorbed heat. The creature looked up at him, its eyes filled with a mixture of pride and satisfaction.

"You did it, Magmate. We did it," Saitama said, kneeling down to pet the creature's warm, rocky head.

---

But before he could relax, the system issued another notification:

[Mission Update: Impostors have regrouped and are planning a counterattack. New skills available.]

[Skill Acquisition: Inferno Strike — A powerful fire-based attack that combines Magmate's energy with the host's physical strength.]

[Skill Enhancement: Holo-Camouflage — Allows the host to create decoys while remaining hidden.]

The system was relentless in its drive for Saitama to grow stronger. The station's survival depended on his ability to adapt and evolve, and now, with Magmate by his side, he had the firepower to take on even the most dangerous impostors.

---

As the engine room's alarms silenced, Saitama prepared for the next battle. He could feel the weight of the station's survival on his shoulders, but he also felt something new—hope. With Magmate's arrival and the system's continued support, he was no longer fighting alone. Together, they would cleanse The Argentum of its impostor infestation and restore order to the chaos.

Magmate, sensing Saitama's resolve, let out a low, rumbling growl. The creature was ready for whatever came next, and so was Saitama. The impostors had made their move, but now it was time for the real crewmate to show them what true power looked like.

As they left the engine room, Saitama glanced back at the core, now glowing with a steady, controlled light. It was a symbol of the battle they had just won, but the war was far from over.

The impostors were regrouping, and Saitama knew that the next encounter would be even more challenging. But with Magmate by his side and the system guiding him, he felt invincible.

They moved forward together, ready to face whatever dangers lurked in the shadows of The Argentum.

---

And so, the crewmate and his fiery companion prepared for the next stage of their journey, their bond growing stronger with each step they took toward victory.
