Chereads / Idiot From Magic Family / Chapter 2 - Failure

Chapter 2 - Failure

"Legendary Mage From The North" is a story written by a mysterious old man who occupies the hut I often use for shelter and rest.

The book tells the story of a person who was born into an ordinary family but has an extraordinary talent for magic. In the story, there are many noble families, one of the most influential families and the biggest magic family in the story is the Kaspara family.

The influence they exert is inseparable from the financial and military assistance they provide to the kingdom.

In the story "Legendary Mage From The North", it is said that the Kaspara family always gave birth to very talented and brilliant children. But among the names written in the story, none of the Kaspara family's sons were named Agra. And somehow this time I was in Agra's body.

Before leaving to fulfill the call of the head of the Kaspara family who was my father, I checked my body in this world.

I approached the mirror, from the mirror I saw a boy with a range of 13 to 14 years old with black hair typical of the Kaspara family. I stood on the mirror for a long time looking at myself.

 "Young master, the ceremonial ceremony is about to begin."

 "Yes, I'll be right out."

Today is the ceremonial ceremony of my first sister Rara Kaspara, she has completed her education at the Picisania academy, the best academy in the kingdom and even one of the best on the continent.

In the novels she is said to have died when the legendary necromancer attacked, but that story is still a long time from today.

~~~~
I arrived at the ceremonial room, all the family members were already there to welcome Rara. The Kaspara family has many family members, each child of a family member has the right to become the head of the family if they have sufficient ability.
When I got there, I could feel the disgusted stares heading my way. The same gaze that I felt in the real world, they seemed to want to drive me away from the place.
Amidst the many voices, I heard someone whispering while glancing in my direction.
 "Why is the family's disgrace here?"
 "What if other nobles find out that the kaspara family has a failed generation?"
 "What a shame."
I tried to avoid the people mocking me until someone pushed me to the ground. I looked at the person who deliberately knocked me down.
It was the twins Padha Kaspara and Padhi Kaspara, one day they would become the protectors of the Kaspara family with the unique magic combination they had created.
 "Hey look who's here?"
 "The idiot who can't even read Hahahahah"
Padha kicked me while laughing at me, no one there tried to help me. In fact they seemed to enjoy what the twins were doing to me.
 "I can fucking read"
I tried to resist the twins' behavior. Armed with the abilities I had in the real world I was very confident that I could read.
 "Really then read this spell"
Padhi held out a paper to me. I took the paper from Padhi's hand and tried to read the contents.
But strangely, I couldn't read what was written there. The letters on the paper moved and danced when I tried to read it.
 "So what's written on that paper?"
Someone who was there shouted at me. I panicked that I couldn't read if it was like this.
 "D-dine lab"
HAHAHAHAHAHA
All the people attending the banquet laughed as I tried to read what was on the paper, on the other hand I was pensive while being confused with myself.
Why can't I read the paper.
 "Look at him he can't even read a simple spell"
Padha mocked me amidst laughter from everyone. I was ashamed I couldn't say anything, while the room condition was chaotic because of the laughter from everyone, there was a man's voice that broke their laughter.
 "What's going on? What's so funny?"
The voice silenced all the laughter, the only person who could do this was Bara Kaspara. The head of the Kaspara family as well as my father, the greatest mage in the entire kingdom. Even in the story he was able to reach a level above Grandmaster Mage.
There was silence after the head of the Kaspara family arrived, none of them dared to answer.
 "I said, what's so funny?"
My father asked again, and the silence became more pronounced in the welcoming area. Amidst the silence someone bravely answered my father's question.
 "We're just trying to teach Agra how to read simple spells, but apparently he still has trouble doing so"
Hearing the answer from one of the family members, father looked at me sarcastically. I could tell from his gaze that he was very disappointed in me.
 "Today is a special day, Rara my eldest daughter will graduate from Picisania academy. She will face the world and become a candidate to lead the Kaspara family".
My father made a long speech while boasting about my eldest sister, as someone called padha padhi. Before leaving me they said.
 "See you soon, you idiot."
I was angry but there was nothing I could do to them, on the other hand I was still confused as to why just by not being able to read I was considered a disgrace to this family. To get some answers I walked over to my maid to ask her a few questions.
 "Hey Rose, why are people laughing at me? It's just a piece of paper."
Rose just shook her head, a surprised look on her face for a moment but then answered me patiently.
 "You seem to have forgotten. Mages need high knowledge in order to control the magic they cast. The ancient mages created spells so that we can learn them".
 "Alright I understand thank you Rose".
So like that, in the book it is explained that the basic things of mages is concentration and imagination. Imagination is useful for mages because when mages cast a spell, the form of the spell they cast is what is in their mind.
Concentration is important because if mages cannot focus on imagining their spells, then the results of the spells they use can be useless. And even potentially hurt themselves.
To make it easier for mages to use their magic. The grandmasters often wrote down the spells they discovered so that the next generation could easily imagine and learn the spells.
But I can't read a simple spell that means I will have a hard time learning any spell.
 "Hey rose can you write something down?"
 "Yes sir, what do you want me to write down?"
 "Write some simple spells"
Rose took a piece of paper and started writing down the spells I asked for. After that she gave the paper to me, I tried to read it again and again the writing on the paper moved and I couldn't read it.
After analyzing what I was experiencing I said
 "Damn, so this agra has dyslexia"
Dyslexia: A condition in which a person has learning difficulties characterized by difficulty in writing and reading.
With this disease, it was only natural that I would be considered a disgrace to the kaspara family, which was famous for its genius. As I was lost in thought, I heard someone say
 "To await Rara's arrival, how about we hold a small magic duel here. Children, please prepare yourselves."
When I traced it, it was Ronald Kaspara, my father's younger brother and my uncle. Everyone seemed to agree with the idea.
The battle was about to begin, it seemed, against Uncle Ronald's son, Simon Kaspara. In the book he is the rival of the MC, let's see how strong he is.
The battle began as they both cast spells skillfully, the elders used barriers so that the effects of their spells did not spread everywhere.
 "That's amazing"
 "Children as young as them can do this? The kaspara family is great."
At first they seemed to be evenly matched, but it turned out that Simon was just giving in to make the match more exciting.
 "Are you done?"
 "What did you say?"
Earth Lock
The spell made the ground around Padha lock her, so she could not move or cast spells because of panic.
After that, four dragon heads made of stone surrounded Padha. From the mouth of the dragon's head, a burst of fire seemed to be coming out.
 "It's done, as expected from Simon"
The people there seemed amazed by the ability of Simon. But suddenly, a magic wind destroyed the dragon's head. It was my father's doing.
 "Enough, that spell is too much"
Simon looked upset but he couldn't do anything about it. The match was over and Simon came out as the winner.
Praise from all directions was given to Simon, but he did not look happy. Because he was walking with emotion he bumped into the waiter which made the food he was carrying fall.
"S-Sorry sir, I didn't mean to"
 "Why are you blocking my way huh?".
Simon was about to hit the waiter, somehow seeing that my body moved on its own and held Simon's punch.
With an angry look he glared at me and said
 "What are you doing asshole?"
