Lucius returned home after a shopping trip, relieved to find the house still empty. Layla hadn't arrived yet, giving him just enough time to put his plan into action. He decided to surprise her with a homemade dinner.
As he entered the kitchen, Roger, ever the attentive assistant, offered to lend a hand.
"Go home and get some rest," Lucius said firmly, tying an apron around his waist.
Roger hesitated. "But Madam will be back within an hour. Are you sure you can handle everything on your own?"
Lucius smirked. "If I need help, I'll call the maids. Besides, you're forgetting I've had some experience in the kitchen," he added, recalling the cooking lessons he had taken years ago.
Roger raised an eyebrow. "That was ages ago, Boss. I cook for myself daily—I'll stick around and help."
Lucius sighed, realizing time was against him. "Fine, but just this once," he relented, focusing on the task at hand.
