"Why have you turned silent?" He tilted his head to look at her. "You don't need to lie to me just to keep my heart. I told you I don't have any hard feelings toward my mother. Her presence or absence doesn't bother me. Neither her words affect me," he stated. The two of them found a seating bench on their way to the top of the hill, where Lucius decided to sit with her for some time.
"Lucius, I am sorry. I didn't wish to lie to you. I just felt I should not let you get sad," Layla said, looking at him.
"Come on, Layla. You don't need to apologise for such a small thing," Lucius asserted.
"Don't you feel upset?" she asked.
"She doesn't own my life. The day she abandoned me, I abandoned her too," he said. "She never liked my friendship with Matteo. I don't justify my actions, but I love what I do. Just don't hate me."
