Lucius returned to the living room, but Alekis was nowhere in sight.
"Father went outside to see your mother," Fiona informed him.
"You aren't my grandpa's child?!" Roderick asked. "How can you live here and claim this family name?" He said scornfully.
"How dare you speak like that? Don't you dare say another word to my son." He walked over as his voice rang out in the living room. "I married your grandmother, and with that, her son became mine. Family isn't defined by blood alone," he said firmly.
Fiona held the hand of her son tightly, gesturing to him to stay quiet.
"Dad, you must rest in your room," Lucius said and turned to go upstairs.
"Follow me to my room," Alekis urged. He didn't wait for Lucius's response and left. But before leaving he asked Roderick to be serious for his work.
