Chapter 196 - My worst side

Lucius wiped the water from his face. Leaning against the counter, he fixed his gaze on Roger, who was zipping up the bag. "What did you find out?"

Roger straightened up, meeting his eyes. "I'll tell you once you're discharged," he replied, keeping his tone even as he grabbed a towel and put it in the other pocket of the bag.

Lucius accepted it with a faint nod while Roger continued, "I'll have my lunch outside. That way, you can have some privacy with Madam."

"No," Lucius stated, his tone brooking no argument. "Stay with us. Layla wants you here, and I don't want to disappoint her." He adjusted his shirt collar and walked out of the washroom first, leaving Roger to follow.

As Lucius stepped into the room, his gaze immediately fell on Layla. She was seated near the window, engrossed in a phone call. The soft light from the window framed her figure, casting a warm glow over her features.
